Recommend the Arlo hub!
Bought the hub with the cameras after reading the reviews. With the dual band 2.4-5 ghz makes it so easy to connect with the internet and also with setting up the cameras! Signal strength is excellent and so far no problems!! Definitely a plus to add to the Arlo cameras!

Works great
Had to reset twice but once the 3 cameras were picked up by the hub they work great! So good in fact I had to tweak the settings and turn off motion and just leave on person, package, animals, entry and now the notifications are more manageable. Low cost and reliable system and I would definitely recommend.

USB storage not worth it and HomeKit support doesn't include HomeKit Secure Video either.
You must erase and re-sync any cameras you want to add to the basestation. No migration option for cameras already setup. That means you have to take the ladder back out and reset them again. You also cannot share local storage recordings with other people in the family. Only the primary account holder can view the local recordings. The USB storage feature to record your videos locally is not worth the time or money. The app makes accessing your local recording a pain. It looks good when using their subscription service but to view your local recordings you have to click 5 different menus to get to the recording list and even then you can't see a thumbnail of the recordings you just have to based it off time. You cannot use the app's activity tab or simply click on the camera to see the recording like you can with their cloud subscription. To view a recording you must select Devices>BaseStation>Settings>Storage Settings then find the recording you want EVERYTIME. this is time consuming and very disappointing. You also cannot view them remotely unless you change your network firewall setting to open up your network to hacking. On top of this the "HomeKit" support is simply a livestream in the home app. This does not allow HomeKit Secure Video recording. A rep on their support forum states that they do this because "they value customer privacy so much that they won’t send your data to another company’s servers." Even though they have no technical documents on how their security works, just a one line privacy statement that we value your privacy. You value it so much that you make viewing my local stored videos hard to get to and I can't even view them remotely not to mention have no end to end encryption option. I guess paying for the cameras and paying extra for a base station wasn't enough for them. This is not worth the time or money the quality you get from the cameras are not better than Eve Home. If you want HomeKit or even just local video recording that is decent go somewhere else.

Arlo hub worked perfectly
I’ve been a loyal Arlo user for years. After a long home remodel, I managed to misplace my original hub, leaving my cameras offline for three years. I finally ordered this replacement, and I’m happy to report that everything is back up and running perfectly. I did have to replace the camera batteries after they sat in storage for so long, but that was to be expected. I still LOVE this system!

Offline is a concern
I bought two Arlo Pro SmartHubs, one purchased in February 2025 and another in July 2025 to cover two separate areas. One performs well, never miss a camera trigger; but the other one frequently goes offline and needs to be restarted. I don’t think it is WiFi related because all connections are Ethernet, no WiFi outage incidents. It could be that the one works well is directly plugged into the router, while the offline one is plugged into a Netgear Gigabit Switch that’s plugged into the router; whether this is an issue is unknown. I am going to upgraded the Ethernet wire to see if it will make a difference. I found the camera images have a few seconds of delay popping up into the app, but it’s only a timing difference, not a missed catching the moment issue. Overall, the cameras are amazing, especially the older versions such as Arlo and Arlo Pro versions; I run into problems of loud noises and over exposures with the essential cameras.

Upgrading the Smart Hub
I wanted to upgrade our old Smart Hub and I connected this new one while living the old one online. I needed to upgrade because one of the cameras got disconnected to the old hub and wouldn't reconnect and I tried installing new batteries and it still wouldn't work. Then once I connected our cameras to this new Smart Hub, it was easy and it recognized the cameras instantly. Now the old smarthub is disconnected. The cameras are working fine now!

Must have a subscription for remote viewing on post recording
My biggest complaint is the subscription service. Even with the SmartHub and a USB drive for local storage, I cannot review recorded footage when I’m away from home. To access recordings stored on the USB drive, I have to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. When I’m away, I can only view the live camera feed. For the price of the subscription, I expected more value. It feels expensive for what is actually provided, especially since local recordings aren’t easily accessible remotely.

Arlo VMB4540 hub works as described
The Arlo VMB4540 hub works as described for storing events locally vs the paid subscription Arlo offers . I can also connect to the hub remotely as I setup port forwarding on my router . It is somewhat confusing to setup the hub as the documented process leaves out an important aspect . For those having challenges setting up , the key is to turn WIFI off on your cell phone and use the cell phone's mobile data to to turn on local storage and enable port forwarding within the app. The setup will complete easily and quickly . The security events are recorded locally and can be accessed remotely.

No sé cómo corregirlo.
