Almost 10,000 miles on the front tire! - I would give these tires 10 stars if I could. I got far more value out of them than I ever expected. I put these Continental Grand Prix 5000s on both the front and rear. I got a whopping 9,925.9 miles out of the front tire without a single flat—absolutely mind-blowing! The outer rubber layer split around 6,500 miles, but the inner casing held strong. I kept a close eye on it, and it wasn't until around 9,900 miles that I finally started to see the tube bulge slightly through a small spot on my last ride home. It rode smoothly and felt fine the whole time. I got 3,635.9 miles out of the rear tire, which is still great considering my rear disc brakes grabbed and caused a couple of short skids that tore into the belts. That was entirely on my brake setup, not the tire—I easily would have cleared 4,000+ miles otherwise. Hands down the best tires I’ve ever owned. Both provided a smooth, comfortable ride, and they are worth every penny. Highly recommended! Review: Perfect match in adherence, rolling resistance and puncture proof. - Just great tires. you feel the grip, get the speed and run them for 3000 miles without a single puncture. I use them with TPU tubes. ## Features - All-Round Road Performance: Continental designed the Grand Prix 5000 to ride faster and more comfortably with increased puncture protection, from daily training miles to race day. - BlackChili Compound: Continental's tread compound combines the latest polymers with specially developed carbon black particles and fillers to balance grip and rolling resistance. - Vectran Breaker: This puncture protection layer, spun from liquid crystal polymer, is lighter, more flexible and more cut resistant than a comparable nylon breaker. - LazerGrip and Active Comfort Technology: A lasered micro profile on the shoulders aids cornering grip, while Active Comfort Technology absorbs road vibration for a smoother ride. - Two Tires per Pack: 700x28 (ETRTO 28-622) folding bead clinchers, 3 layers of 110 TPI (330 TPI); 52-116 PSI per Continental. The "5000" is a very fast tire with "good" puncture protection. The Gaterskin is a slower tire with outstanding puncture protection. While the "gaterskin hardshell" is their top of the line in puncture protection. You trade speed and weight for puncture protection. It is a trade off. The fastest tires have half the protection, but also half the rolling resistance. Speed, punture resistance and ride comfort also depend on if you have 25mm or 32mm and the amount of pressure you use You can trade off one thing for another. **Q: Its Tubeless? Tks** A: No not tubeless, box for Tubeless say TL **Q: Those are road bike not BMX?** A: They are road bike **Q: Son las 2 llantas por us 89?** A: Si las dos llantas por ese valor + Iva ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Title: 10 Stars if I could! I use them with TPU tubes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome Tires. *by J***. on August 1, 2026* What an awesome Tire! Been riding onnthem a few years now and no problems at all. Very low rolling resistance and they wear great. The can be a bit contrairy to mount to the Rims. Just be patient and keep the Tire Bead pinched into the center of the Rim and yo should be able to roll them right over and on. I run them with the Conti Race Tubes which gives a really nice ride. ## Frequently Bought Together - Continental Grand Prix 5000 Bike Tire - 2 Pack - Continental Race 28" Wide 700x25-32c Inner Tubes - 42mm Presta Valve (Pack of 2 w/Conti Sticker) - Continental Race 28 700x20-25c Bicycle Inner Tubes - 42mm Long Presta Valve - 2 Pack --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/228071933-continental-grand-prix-5000-clincher-road-bike-tires-2-pack](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/228071933-continental-grand-prix-5000-clincher-road-bike-tires-2-pack) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
