Continental Grand Prix 5000 Clincher Road Bike Tires, 2 Pack

I would give these tires 10 stars if I could. I got far more value out of them than I ever expected. I put these Continental Grand Prix 5000s on both the front and rear. I got a whopping 9,925.9 miles out of the front tire without a single flat—absolutely mind-blowing! The outer rubber layer split around 6,500 miles, but the inner casing held strong. I kept a close eye on it, and it wasn't until around 9,900 miles that I finally started to see the tube bulge slightly through a small spot on my last ride home. It rode smoothly and felt fine the whole time. I got 3,635.9 miles out of the rear tire, which is still great considering my rear disc brakes grabbed and caused a couple of short skids that tore into the belts. That was entirely on my brake setup, not the tire—I easily would have cleared 4,000+ miles otherwise. Hands down the best tires I’ve ever owned. Both provided a smooth, comfortable ride, and they are worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Just great tires. you feel the grip, get the speed and run them for 3000 miles without a single puncture. I use them with TPU tubes.

What an awesome Tire! Been riding onnthem a few years now and no problems at all. Very low rolling resistance and they wear great. The can be a bit contrairy to mount to the Rims. Just be patient and keep the Tire Bead pinched into the center of the Rim and yo should be able to roll them right over and on. I run them with the Conti Race Tubes which gives a really nice ride.

Love these tires! Low rolling resistance, have not had a flat in over 2,500 miles.

Very smooth, quiet and excellent grip.

I still had the original tires (Forte) and inner tubes on my Trek 1420 from 1990. These Continentals are great and made my bike much faster and with much better handling. I used Continental inner tubes as well and they hold the air very well. Great tires for the money. A no brainer.

These tires roll really smooth and fast. I’m guessing it is at least worth 5-10 mental watts. Seriously though, they are very smooth and fast. No issues with grip at all. I do notice that the tires have picked up some road rash in the form of kicks and small cuts. I somewhat expect this in a fast race tire compared to something more like a Gatorskin. True in size. Mine are 700x25. My bike is a little older and has pretty tight clearance on the fork so this matters. Coming from Michelins that were on the larger than named size this was welcome. Do some looking on the web and you will find that these tires are considered one of the best for rolling resistance. My experience so far, without a bunch of data to back it up, would suggest those claims to be true. If you need super high durability and puncture resistance you may want to consider something else. I would say if you are looking for fast then get a pair of these and you’ll be happy.

These tires are really nice. I didn't think I would notice much difference from the Grand Sport Race, but the 5000 rides noticeably smoother.

Muy buenas llantas, rápidas y aguantan bastante los impactos. En mi antigua bicicleta tenía las Grand Prix GT igual de Continental y esas en una semana ya se habían empezado a ver golpes en el neumático, con estas 5000 se ven como nuevas después de una semana de uso y 300 km recorridos. Si las encuentras a muy buen precio no dudes en comprarlas!

Junto con las Vittoria Corsa, creo que estas son las 2 mejores llantas del mercado. Pros: * Ligera y muy rápida. Baja resistencia de rodado * Resistencia a pinchazos * Agarre en seco excepcional y bueno en mojado Contras: * Desgaste relativamente rápido En mi caso, es la cubierta "de cabecera" para mi bici en tiempo de secas. Para temporada húmeda sugiero otras opciones.

No scientific experiment done to compare their performance with others, but they do what they are supposed to... roll on asphalt.
