Bought this because I had used it at a business and fell in love with its writing smoothness!
The Pentel EnerGel Deluxe RTX is a fantastic everyday pen. The 0.7mm tip writes smoothly with a nice, consistent flow, and the blue ink is bold without being too heavy. I especially like how quickly the ink dries, which helps prevent smudging. The retractable design is convenient, and the metal tip gives the pen a sturdy, quality feel. It’s comfortable to hold and works great for everything from taking notes to writing lists. Definitely a pen I’ll keep on hand and buy again!

LOVE IT🌟 PENTEL ENERGEL💖
Yes to fine point, yes to nice Appearance, there’s no skipping at all, nice durability, nice size. ‼️Tested six high-quality bold blue pens. 🎀As you can see from the pictures, they're all pleasing to look at and there really are no visible blemishes at first glance. They're all beautiful and feel mostly smooth to write with overall. I’d rate most of them a 10/10 and the lowest I'd rate one would be a 7.8/10. Again, they're all either excellent or good cuz I chose some of the best in the market IMO. This is technically me nitpicking out of a really good batch of bold pens. 🛴Smoothness/Glide rank from most to least: 1. Pilot Precise V10 RT & PILOT G2 Premium Gel Pen & are hands down THE smoothest pens I've ever written with. Glides extremely easily AND feels extremely satisfying to use. 10/10. The hype is actually real and I get why they're popular now. The V10 one is smoother but they’re both super close. 2. Pentel EnerGel is 2nd place, still VERY smooth, glides quickly, airy feeling, light feeling. Very close to Pilot G2. I rate it a 9.7/10 just because Pilot V10 is clearly the smoothness king. Still an excellent smoothness on Pentel tho! Still satisfying to write with. 3. Schneider and Uniball are in third place together because they FEEL identical. Like if I were writing with my eyes closed with both of them, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart. I rate them both a 9/10 in smoothness because there's this slightly heavy, slightly rough feeling when using them. Still smooth, just not V10 smooth. Something to also note is that Uniball has a very slight 2% skip. It's rare when it skips, but it's the only one that does it out of the bunch. Slightly irritating. Mainly happens when you begin on a new letter/word. Very clear though if you look closely at all the number eights I wrote. Uniball is the only one who's #8 isn't completely formed. 4. BIC Gelocity is in 4th place because it's the roughest feeling of the bunch. It still is smooth, it just feels kinda scratchy. Like 9% rough and scratchy. It's not bad, it's just there. I'd be able to tell it apart from the rest with my eyes closed though. I rate it a 8.5/10 in smoothness. I'd still use it. 🩸Least bleed to most bleed ranking: 1. BIC Gelocity did not bleed through much on the back of the paper. The opacity of the writing on the back of the paper is like 5%. I'd probably go for this one if I was going to write down notes on regular, thin-ish paper often as I'd use the front and back paper. 2. Pentel Energel opacity on the back of the paper looks like 7%. Would also use this one on regular/thin paper. 3. Pilot G2 looks like it's at 10% opacity. 4. Pilot Precise V10 looks like 14% opacity. There's very faint “fluff” or “spikes” or “fractals” of the ink. Just barely. Hardly noticeable. 5. Uniball Vision is at 17% opacity. Something to note about the ink is that there's very faint “fluff” or “spikes” or “fractals” that form when writing with it. Hardly visible but I'm very perceptive and just notice it ok. 6. Schneider looks like 21% opacity. Additionally, Schneider was the only one with slightly significant bleeding on the NEXT page, (the page after the page written (idk). Minimal though. Looks like light scritches, hardly noticeable. Would not use regularly for front and back note-taking unless the paper is thick. I'm using regular spiral notebook paper. Also, it has the fluffy thing I talked about too and it has it more than Uniball and the V10. They're in order here. ✒️Pen Anatomy/Clicking/Comfortability: They all feel like the same lvl of comfortability to me tbh (the hold). I write with hard pressure so maybe my hand is just resistant to it by now idek. Anyways, the quietest clicking sound of the bunch and the most comfortable feel of click on the thumb and index finger would have to be BIC Gelocity IMO. Clicker easily goes down, isn't too loud. It's like the shy one of the bunch. The highest-pitched one is the Pilot V10 but it's also not too loud, I don't like how the clicker feels on my thumb tho. You can feel the spring and a hollowness when you click the Pentel Energel pen lol, I can feel a slight vibration to it, like it's a bit empty inside, it's only for a second but yeah. Idk about the Pilot G2, it's clicker is the hardest to press down but nothing crazy. The sound is meh, kinda loudish idk. 🖊️Smudge proof test in pictures: I don't write with my left hand which is clear lol I'm actually right-handed, but I wanted to test which of these pens would smudge badly if I were a left-handed user but I'm not a left-handed user so I drove my finger across the ink as I wrote to kinda simulate it and I did two smudge tests. If I were left-handed the best of these six pens would have to be Pentel Energel and the Pilot Precise V10. I guess it depends on how fast you write too cuz then it might not give the ink enough time to fully dry but Pentel is the best mainly for left-handed users due to nice quality, smoothness, and smudge-proofness, and the fact that it doesn't skip at all and has minimal bleeding on the back of the page. But if you're right-handed, you won't have to worry about the smudging at all and have more options.

Awesome pens!
I do a lot of writing so I'm always on the lookout for neat pens. These pens are so awesome. The writing is so smooth, and the grip feels so nice while writing. The pens have a very light feel to them, but the writing is so solid and looks so neat on paper. I have purchased the blue and black ones but will look to buy others. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes to write.

Good pens, easy writing with the .7 tips. Smooth ink.
We like these Pentel gel pens. The .7 tips are easy to write with. The red ink stands out and seems to last years on the paper. They write a nice bold line. Love the retractable, so the tips don't get dirty and the pens don't write on things when layed down or moved around. Good pens!

My Favorite Pens — I Buy Them Again and Again
I absolutely love these pens. I own them in three different tip sizes and have purchased them many times. They are some of the smoothest-writing pens I've used, and the ink is beautifully deep and saturated. There are a couple of small differences between the sizes. I find the 0.3 mm a little scratchy, and it can occasionally feel like it skips while writing. The 1.0 mm can bleed through the paper a little if I press too heavily. The sizes in between are especially smooth. Even with those minor drawbacks, these are currently my favorite pens. I will definitely continue buying them.

Great product
Writes very smoothly but the ink is not as thick as other 0.7mm pens. Maybe because the way I keep the pen in my pocket. The pen itself is of high quality material and great hand grip

Vivid color. Great glide with no ink splotches.
After testing a lot of pens to find the ones that glide the best without leaving messy clumps or puddles on the paper, this brand was tops in every way. Great glide which is perfect because I tend to write big and fast. I don’t like that feeling of drag or scratchiness on the tip of my pens. I also love that it doesn’t leave clumps or puddles. And the color is really vivid. One minor downside: it takes a minute to dry, depending on how slick your paper is. (It can smear on postcards if I don’t give it some dry time.) This is my favorite pen of the many I tested.

These Pens Are Hard To Beat
I’ve tried every kind of pen over the years—from basic BICs to more “premium” models—but the Pentel EnerGel instantly became my favorite. It writes incredibly smoothly, never skips, and the ink dries almost instantly (except on glossy or coated paper). One thing that really stands out: the ink never dries out, even if you leave the tip out. There’s no need to retract it. You can leave it ready to write, forget about it for months, pick it up again, and it writes immediately. No dryness, no scratching, nothing—unlike BIC and many other pens. It comes in tons of colors, and I use several: blue, black, red, pink, green, and purple, in both 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm tips. Refills come in boxes of 10, and they last a long time. With normal office use, I replace my blue refill (the one I use the most) about every two months. I like these pens so much that I basically retired my old Parker 51—the one I used through high school and college. Compared to the EnerGel, it now feels almost prehistoric. Great performance, great durability, great price. Hard to beat.
