Love my new knife!
Love my new knife - replaced a cheaper Santoku that stood out from the rest of my Wüstof Ikon set. SUPER sharp and well balanced. Good weight and comfortable feel. Worth the investment. None of my ikon knives have rusted or show any damage after multiple years of heavy use. Worth the investment.

My new favorite knife
This knife has perfect balance and glides through anything from tomatoes to meat to raw potatoes. It is the perfect santoku. I have always been a knife snob, and has great knives, but this feels so amazing in the hand it’s the one I reach for most often lately.

Great Santoku Knife
The Wusthof Classic Ikon 7-inch hollow edge Santoku knife has a very comfortable handle. The knife is well-balanced, and it cuts veggies and tomatoes with ease. It's razor-sharp. It is perhaps one of the finest Santoku knives available today. I highly recommend this knife for larger cutting jobs, and it's little brother, the 5-inch Classic Ikon Santoku knife, for smaller cutting jobs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I Now Believe Every Home Cook Should Have A Knife of This Quality
I am by no means a professional cook or chef, just a guy who enjoys cooking my own meals. For years I have fallen into a trap of buying cheap $30 knives. They get the job done but after 2 years of sharpening and use, a cheap knife simply will stop holding an edge, and become dangerous to use. I bought this knife to break this cycle. A better quality knife without having to repurchase over and over again. Its been over a month of use and I use it at least 4 days a week and it still cuts veggies and raw meats like the first day (at least to me) with no tearing. It's amazing how much time is saved in prep work compared to even a new cheap knife. It is true that sharper knives do make your food taste fresher. I would recommend this knife or even any knife of similar quality simply because I have become a believer that every home cook should have at least 1 quality knife for prep work. Also, Please don't believe the low ratings mean a bad product when they claim the knives chipped or became dull when cutting through bones or dropping them on the floor or counter. You shouldn't even abuse a cheap knife in this manner.

Alle Erfahrungen unter 4 Sternen würde ich einfach nur reklamieren und zurück schicken. Mir wurde das Messer als guter Allrounder in der Küche von Hannes Arendholz empfohlen und ich habe bei dem Preis und zumal ich kein ausgebildeter Koch bin, nichts auszusetzen. Ich will mir bei Gemüse, Beilagen, Fleisch, Fisch oder Kräutern keine Gedanken machen, welches Messer ich verwende. Natürlich hacke ich mit so einem Messer keine Knochen. Wenn das Messer, pfleglich behandelt, jetzt noch einige Jahre treu bleibt, gibt's noch den sechsten Stern.

The Wüsthof Classic Ikon series are some of the very best professional knives. The Icon series have ergonomic POM handles with double bolsters. I particularly like the semi bolstered blades that makes sharpening the full length of the blade easier than a full bolster. They are designed to be kept sharp with just a regular polish with a steel. Precision made, nothing flashy, just excellent quality for a lifetime of real world use.

Great German version of a Japanese Santuko knife. A must have for any chef to fine-cut vegetables. The Classic version features a forged blade with full tang.
