Update InternationalDinner Forks - Regency Series [Set of 12]

These are nice forks but they are NOT Update International brand as advertised they are actually Winco brand. They are slightly smaller at the prongs of the fork about a quarter inch.

Several were rusty after the first run through the dishwasher.

I gave these 5 stars but that may not be fair. I haven't tested the sturdiness or durability. I haven't attempted to bend them or had the time to subject them to heavy use but for basic standard eating they seem to be perfectly adequate.I will say they seem to be a little more lightweight than I prefer but there is no way to test the weight looking at a picture. They are a nice length and generally comfortable to eat with. I think they are a fair quality for the price and I wouldn't hesitate ordering them again.

I bought the "Update International RE-105 18/10 Stainless Steel Regency Series Dinner Fork" about three and a half years ago, and back then, the forks were about half an inch longer (see photo). Maybe they sent a salad fork by mistake? I ordered the same thing... same brand, model number, series, and Dinner Fork, and got a shorter fork. What the fork!? The shorter one is about 7.25". Perfectly fine, just not what I expected based on what I received before.Like other reviewers have said, it's labeled 18/8 steel too, although if you do the research you'll find 18/10 and 18/8 are basically identical, it's more of a marketing thing.All that said, these never rusted for me in ~3.5 years. Note the drying part seems important: I use a dish washer and do the heat dry. I think some people leave water on their forks after washing and that's what causes the rust over time. I never had a tine break. They're durable and sturdy.

I am not 100% sure I would refer to these as dinner forks because they are a bit smaller than what I would consider a dinner fork, but then again, they are a bit bigger than what I would consider a salad fork, so I guess it evens out. I really purchased them because my family seems to have a nasty habit of throwing my forks away and thought if they throw these away, it would be no big deal...but I like them and now I would be upset if I find them missing. They are a good weight and are pretty nice looking. Well worth the money.

I was not expecting the knife quality and finish to be this good. They are heavy and the finish is excellent. The tips are serrated and I can definitely tell I have a knife in my hand. They are heavy but stainless steel tends to be that way.For the money, I think this is a good choice. I ran them through the dishwasher twice and there did not appear to be any discrepancies. I don't know why more of these have not been sold. I took a chance on one review and these seem to be as good if not better than higher priced flatware knives. I like the serrated tips which I did not expect. Description is one thing and what actually arrives is another. I see these knives lasting a very long time.Heavy and nothing flimsy here.

Spoons look like picture, but stamped as lesser quality 18/8 and Not 18/10, as promised by Seller. The box states 5 items of note: ".. careful handling your stainless steel flatware 1. remove food remnants immediately after use, 2. presoak (utensils) in plastic or steel pan using non abrasive compound, 3. wash in hot water with non abrasive agent, 4. rinse in water of at least 180 (degrees, I guess).. you may need a wetting agent (no idea what that is), 5. Dry immediately. Really, that's more work than I need for these spoons. Not what I ordered. We only gave 2 stars in hopes this review will be seen for others to have the facts. Returned.

Love these! We use them in place of 'Dinner' forks, (which are large and heavy), but, make no mistake, these 'Salad' forks are substantial with a good medium Heft, (unlike cheap Flatware that feels like you're holding a feather in your hand). I have other 'Salad' forks but these have a Wider Bowl and Sharper Tines, (which really poke thru and grab your food... even lettuce). I've put them thru the Dishwasher a zillion times and they're just as Bright and Shiny as the day I received them. For us, 'Salad Forks' are the way to go and I HIGHLY recommend these RE-106 'Salad Forks' from Update International.
