Best GPU for now under $1000
Top of the line GPU under 1000 dollars. Compared to the 1050ti I had its night and day. The 1050 could only run at 60fps at low to medium settings for witcher 3. This beasts never drops below 60fps with ultra settings and hairworks turned up. I hated spending the money but I'm happy I did.

This was a candle in the wind
Loved the GTX 1080Ti but was disappointed to get so little use out of it before this "Flagship" graphics card was usurped by the RTX. But I was able to use a second GTX 1080Ti I got dirt cheap second hand in SLI configuration and saved a cool grand on the years so-called "Flagship"

working great after several months
purchased this used and it's been great. since purchase i've installed a EKWB custom waterblock that cools GPU/MEM/VRM and it runs stable at a +165/550 core/mem overclock using MSI Afterburner.

Tried to catch fire, died in ten months.
So I bought this card. From the day I bought this thing, it was a problem child. It constantly ran absurdly hot, like 60 celcius at idle. New thermal paste, new pads, finally having to install a water cooling rig, just to get it down to normal tempuratures. Ten months to the day after I bought it, it crashed and died. I'm kinda pissed about this, because I was expecting at least two years.

Recommend
Bought it about 6 months ago to build my 1st Gaming PC and I paired it with a Ryzen 2600x and a 34" Alienware Ultrawide Curved Monitor. Gaming at 3440x1440 is a blast turning off most of the useless features like Motion Blur and a few others I can get 60+ FPS. I recommend this card for everything but 4k Gaming it'll cut to mostly everything like butter.

The Art of Gaming
It's the perfect GPU for the modern age. And the founders edition is a piece of art. Pricey, guilt pleasure - but more pleasure than guilt. Make sure to maximize enjoyment with a 1440p, 144hz G-Sync monitor.

Display ports can get damaged from overheating
These founders editions of the 1080ti seem to have an issue with damage from overheating -that takes a while to kick in. If you are planning on using these for DeepLearning or something, be aware that it can overheat and somehow permanently damage the display output ports. You can continue using the card (if you have remote log in or another card on the machine with display output) but the display out of the card will not work. I've had no such problem with the EVGA 1080ti versions. Other than that its one of the most amazing combination chips slapped on a PCB..
