Products iDye Fabric Dye: Fixative

After polluting probably all the groundwater in the state of Florida trying to rinse the excess dye out of hand-dyed yarn and scarves, I learned about this product and in desperation, decided to try it. Scarves that were still bleeding after multiple trips through wash cycles were fixed after sitting for a time with occasional stirring in a bowl with the fixative added. Even when putting the yarn/scarf in the fixative bath tinted it, the scarves all rinsed perfectly clean. It's a tiny jar but since each project was small I was able to use a fraction of the recommended amount. I only wish it came in gallon jugs (because I have a lot of projects)!

This product was suggested to me as a possibility for finally getting two pairs of dark jeans to quick leaving blue dye on my hands, purses, blouses, sweaters, etc. Both pairs had been washed numberous times. In frustration I went to Ask.com to see if anyone had any possible solutions. This product is sold on-line only. But, it really put an end to my blue jean misery.

I dyed sheets to match my color scheme and used this to improve color fastness. Sheets have been washed 3 times now and so far so good! I recommend it!

This seemed to work fine, but the Jacquard Dye I used it with is pretty weak.

I used it to get the dye in cotton yarn not to run so I could use it with other colors. It worked.

Does not color lock with synthetic fabric. Seems to hasten color fade with washing. Buyer beware, perhaps this works with cotton or other fabrics but definitely not with polyester or rayon.

It works - but you have to use so much of it! It is too costly to use it for everything I dye - I got 2 batches of washer- dyed fabrics sealed out of one jar. I use it for really brightly colored rugs that I don't want to chance fading.

I thought it was a dye but it is not. I tried to return and it cost more to return it than I originally spent. Please read the description properly because you will not get your money back!!!!!!!!!!
