It works, has good sound quality, with extra long cord. The video shows this BOYA in the first part compared to a wireless mic that just doesn't match BOYA sound quality. There are draw backs, like battery life - you have to add new batteries almost every use if you forget to turn off the microphone, and the battery port is in the middle of the cord so it weighs down the cord. Also, anything that rubs against or touches this battery port will create that HISS sound as if it were hitting the mic. That creates a difficulty or limitation when trying to move around while vlogging. I still give it a 5 Star because it is pretty clean sound for the price and performs well in all its claims. This BOYA is my standard microphone for vlogging to date. I have been using this microphone for over a year, since May 13, 2019.

This is my 1st ever lavalier mic and I love it. The sound quality isn't great on my canon 80d so really needed this mic for better quality sound. I did some research and a great app to use with this mic for android and iphone is wave pad free. Just hook the mic to your phone then press record on the app and go. When I heard the quality of the recording of the mic it is amazing. It makes your voice sound crisp and crystal clear. I even tried using it while standing in front of the TV while it was on to see how well the mic would only pick up my voice and it did exceptionally well. Will be buying another one of these mics for my wife to have the greatest sound for our YouTube videos. One tiny problem was that the accessories were already out of the pack which was wierd. Would have given 4 stars but since the product was new and still in great working conditions I just gave 5 stars. Great product and I do recommend. This microphone has dramatically improved the quality of my Facebook Live videos shot on a iPhone. The mic picks up the voice of the speaker quite well, which has been good since I shoot live in places where I cannot control ambient sound. It allows me to record in places with loud air conditioners or lights, and let's the voice come through clearly without the buzz. Although it practically eliminates the AC noise, I was disappointed that it does let in louder ambient sounds, including loud voices on the other side of a closed door. Quality issue: the clip broke the first time I used the mic. My subject broke it trying to clip it to his shirt. Be sure to read the instructions about leaving it in the "off" position to use it with your phone.

This mic is priced well and it is a remarkable product, very easy to work with and a great sound.. Long cord if need be and just an easy solution to a problem. Would purchase again for sure and can recommend this to anyone on a budget or not. Just a good product............

A couple of tips I haven't seen yet. I thought it was plugged into my phone all the way, but it wasn't. I took my phone out of its phone case, then plugged it in & it went in all the way. So if it isn't working for you, try it without the case on your phone. Another good tip if you can't get it to work: Instead of manual mode on your phone's camera, put it on Auto. The microphone wouldn't work for me at all until I did those 2 things. I was going to send it back because I couldn't get it to work, but I'm glad I kept messing with it & trying everything possible. So far it is working great & it sounds awesome! I'm so glad I got this! And it got here in 1 day!! Fantastic! So reminder: Remove your phone case, & put your camera on Auto mode instead of manual.

I bought this microphone after it coming so very highly reviewed and recommended by tech reviewers on YouTube. I record on my Samsung Galaxy J7 and on both the default camera app as well as Open Camera the sound is distorted garbage. It sounds like the gain is cranked all the way up and renders anything recorded completely useless. The on board mic is FAR superior. I've spent the last several days trying to find anything at all to fix this issue but have come up completely empty handed. I can only assume most people do not have this problem or the mic wouldn't come so broadly recommended. I am disappointed and will be returning the product.

It's less than $20 so I think that makes it a good value. It is well constructed with a nice sturdy clip and a good long cord. But be careful inserting the battery. It doesn't slip in easily and if you force it, you could bend the little spring inside the compartment and damage it. So angle the battery in carefully - with the curved side against the spring. It's a tricky little task so take your time doing it. It took me three tries before I got it lined up enough to slide it all the way in. (Also, there's an annoying little black ribbon installed at that spot - presumably to make battery removal easier. But the ribbon just gets in the way. Just pull it back out of the way and it'll make battery insertion a little easier. (I finally just cut the ribbon off and that helped.) The sound is . . . okay. Certainly not awful - but it's not really crisp. There's a very slight muddle - but not terrible. It's acceptable quality - but the built-in mic on your smartphone is better. So are most of the $50 dollar and higher lavalier and shotgun choices. So if your plan is higher-end video, you should skip this product and spend at least 3x the money on something with a cleaner, sharper sound. (It'll be worth it in the long run.) But if all you need is something for videoconferencing or occasional recording, this is a huge improvement over the sound of your laptop's built-in microphone. So you should absolutely buy it for that purpose . . . .

Aunque no es un micro excepcional, es MUY BUENO! por su relación con el precio. Hice muchas investigaciones y vi muchos reviews de micros en internet (MUCHOS!!!), y desde luego este fue el que elegí por todos los comentarios. Y pues me ha sorprendido, desde su empaque externo (caja de marca -ver fotos-) hasta lo que contiene. Trae su bolsa de transporte negra, una pila para el condensador (que por cierto sólo se activa o enciende con las cámaras DSLR ya que en celulares no es necesario prenderlo y por lo tanto usar esa pila de reloj incluida), contiene además su clip para la ropa, una espuma negra para cubrir el micro, un cable larguísimo!!!!!!!!!! que es ideal para grabar desde MUY lejos (más de 6 metros), y un adaptador a otro tipo de jack (mas ancho). Ya lo usé para grabar video en mi smartphone Galaxy S8+ y funcionó a la primera, con buen nivel de cancelación de ruido y sin necesidad de activar ni configurar nada más. Muy buena relación precio / calidad.

I am so glad I bought this mic. I use it for making YouTube videos with my phone or tablet. With this mic, the sound quality is at least as good as what I'd expect when making a phone call. Without a mic, it's like using speaker phone (of course it is -without a mic the device uses it's speaker-phone mic to record all the sound in the room). It's a noticeable difference. Just remember that when using any mic with a mobile device, unplug it when you playback your file. Why? Because you plugged your mic into the audio jack, of course. Most apps will assume you've plugged in a headset or other type of speaker, so the apps send sound through the jack and not to the main speaker. Please don't panic and assume your mic malfunctioned (some reviewers appear to have done just that). If you really want to keep your mic plugged in during playback, you can change your settings to always use the main speaker (very easy to do on most phones/tablets, but I still find it simpler to unplug the mic). The little clip is strong, and the mic stays on securely. The chord is much longer than I'll ever need, which is fine by me. I've never fully unraveled it, and never will. Nor will I ever run into a problem with it being too short. Bottom line, I feel I can rely on this mic to do the job, whatever I'm doing. One last thing. When buying electronics it's really important to understand that the manufacturing costs depend very heavily on what % of the devices are lemons. You can sometimes find the exact same product coming off the same assembly line under different brand names and the only difference is that the cheap brands are more likely to be faulty (eg. maybe 3-5% of the cheap ones are duds, while the expensive brands only allow <0.1% failure rate). Even so, most of the cheap ones will work just as well as the high-priced brands. For simple electronics like this, I usually choose a low-cost one and take my chances. I would never take that chance with a complex device like a phone because too many things can go wrong. But with a mic? Sure! I took a chance and I would do so again. I always check reviews first though, and make sure I see some glowing reviews. I want to know that if the product works, it's going to work well. The last thing I want is a device that is poorly designed, and there are plenty of those out there too so be careful. For me, this little mic is a good example of an inexpensive product at a price low enough for me to easily take the risk. Do be honest with yourself though. If you get a dud, would you be really upset? Would you bother trying to get a refund? Maybe you wouldn't bother, but you're willing to risk the cash anyway. Just be honest with yourself. And if you're feeling unlucky, don't buy cheap electronics!

The product has a wonderful quality. It completely solves the purpose of recording a quality voice in videos. I have to use it regularly as I am YouTuber& make my videos on Motivation & Spoken English, many viewers ask me about my mic & I always recommend Boya (Youtube- Gaurav motivegroom) & I need to keep good quality of my videos.
