What’s not to love about homemade soups!
Wonderful cookbook on Italian inspired soups! I made Zuppa di Patate and as mentioned in another section of his book, tore up some sourdough bread into chunks into the bowl first, then ladled the hot soup over the bread. Wow! Reminded me of dumplings and really added another layer of flavor to the dish.I also appreciate the comment about how olive oil is used unapologetically. “ One of the benefits of enjoying vegan meals is that without all the saturated fat, cholesterol, and calories found in many non-vegan (ie: meat and dairy) dishes, we can easily afford an extra tablespoon or two of delicious olive oil.”

Great comfort soups
I think it was the cover picture that caught my attention, and then the title, because I love soups, especially when the temps drop to low and snow covers the ground and I can stay inside and eat soup, and I eat WFPB. I was excited about my digital purchase and I enthusiastically went through the book. I made the Zuppa di Patate, Porri, e Funghi (Potato, Leek, and Mushroom Soup) the addition 1/2 of lemon or lime is what caught my attention. Since I am not a mushroom girl I only used them when I served the soup, in my husband’s bowl. He loved it. And I really loved the soup myself w/o the mushrooms. I will definitely cook this again. Now as I sit to write this review, I am preparing another recipe from this book, ZUPPA di FAGIOLI BIANCHI (Tuscan White Bean Soup). I have only tasted it for the seasonings, so far so good! I love breads, it is suggested that you eat it with a slice of bread, I’m thinking a crusty slice of bread, but I can’t decide at the moment, I made flatbread the other day and I think that might go well, I also have a piece of multigrain baguette left over from a pasta meal I made last week, or I could make a pan of cornbread, since this soup has beans— whatever I decide I think it would work well with this soup. I am giving this Accidentally Vegan Italian Soups book a BIG ole 5 stars, cause I think I LOVE it! Oh and I want to mention that so far the recipes’ ingredients are easy, of the 2 soups I’ve made, I didn’t have to go out to the store to buy anything, I already had it in my kitchen. Great comfort food for cooler temperatures and especially for the snow that’s coming.

Vegan soup for every season, easy to make and follow recipes
This is a great soup cook book. I really enjoy that the recipes contain both the measured out versions of ingredients and also the canned amounts if you don't havr time to make them from scratch. The ingredients are easy to find whole foods and most are probably on hand already, depending on the season. The pictures are clear and tempting. The recipes are divided into sections of: very easy recipes, easy recipes, and slightly difficult recipes. I enjoy the food stories included and also reading the Italian names for the parts of the recipe. This is a great soup book. We will have many days of soup ahead. It is nice to have an entire book of perfect recipes.I enjoyed this book so much, I bought it for many as a gift. On the back of the book there are more Italian cook books advertised. I am excited for the vegan Italian dessert book to come out that is advertised. I hope it has cookies and my favorites from childhood, like cannoli. I have yet to eat a good vegan cannoli.

Delicious Soups
I tried to cook one of the soups and it turned out good! Thanks so much for sharing your recipes! Can't wait to try the rest. Btw, the book is light, easy to read, the recipes are short and easy to follow. I also really like that every recipe has a picture of what it should look like. YUMMY!

Antique (and vegan) recipes!
I have been collecting and cooking antique, vegan recipes for about 7 years now. I love the simplicity of the recipes and the evidence that vegan cuisine is not 'new' as so many of my omnivore friends think it is. Accidentally Vegan Italian Soups is an excellent collection of just the kind of foods I love to cook.I also love the history behind these recipes. One suggestion, could you include the dates the recipes seems to originate from whenever possible? The first recipe I made was the On Board Soup which your description on amazon said is from the 10th century but this does not appear in the cookbook. This soup was easy to make and delicious! My omnivore husband loved the idea of eating such an old and traditional soup and loved the flavor, too.

Great Book
You don't have to be vegan to love these recipes. I was a soup cook for years and these are some of the best recipes I've come across--and I have a lot of cookbooks devoted to soup.

My favorite cookbook!
I never write reviews, but this book is amazing. I am always looking for vegan recipes that are, by their very nature, vegan. I also love soups and Italian food, so this was a “no brainer” purchase for me. I have now made a majority of the recipes in the book and am in love with every one of them. The tips at the beginning of the book are very helpful, especially regarding the stock. The recipes themselves are straight forward and, most importantly, delicious. I’m happy; my husband is happy; my close friends that come over are happy. Needless to say, I have become a big fan and am anxiously awaiting the next book.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
40 Sheets of cheap paper with blurred photos formed into a 23cm x 15cm pamphlet, cooked from scratch or authentic Italian ~ it certainly isn’t. None come close to what my Italian mother-in-law or any of her sisters cooked, more like what Yanks pass off as authentic Italian. All recipes are for 16 yes 16 LARGE SERVINGS. All exceptionally easy recipes, even ones listed as ‘bit more difficult’ you get to soak and cook the beans or chop a tomato instead of opening a can. Anyone with absolutely no cooking experience could master any recipe in this pamphlet minutes. better Italian cookery books iout there, buy those.

Consigliato!!

More than your typical vegetarian soups
This cookbook has many soups that use vegetables and grains in different ways. I find that many vegetarian books have soups that are basically everything going bad in the fridge. This one does not- the soups have distinct tastes and are flavoured with spices that make the soup delicious. If you're looking for new, different soups, try this book!

Le dimensioni non contano
Quando ho aperto il pacco sono rimasta un po' delusa, perché il libretto è molto piccolo e ha una settantina di pagine. Il contenuto però è pregevole, scritto molto bene e con un tocco di humour. Libro consigliato
