Winco Stainless Steel, Coiled Spring Utility Tong Heavyweight, 12-Inch, Medium

These are the nicest tongs I've ever used. The metal is really thick and solid. Feels like they could last 50 years. It's such a mundane item but I felt like leaving a review just because they are just that good.

I like little longer than my other ones I love. But I'm OK with that. Good tongs.

I was a line cook for 16 years, and used to using quality cooking utensils. Tongs equal to the quality of this product cost $12 through kitchen supply, so I was skeptical finding a similar product at such a low price. I ordered one pair to try. After two weeks of use EVERY DAY, I was so pleased I ordered 10 more to use as practical stocking stuffers for family members. They do not have a locking mechanism, but I can tell you that the chef and other cooks that I worked with would remove the locking mechanism from their tongs the minute they got a new pair.I thought this was odd, but it didn't take me long to start doing the same thing. Much more user friendly not messing with the lock (which wears out over time anyway). I love this product! Easy to use, easy to clean, dishwasher safe. And strong enough to remove pizza pans, sizzlers, and other (not too heavy) items from the oven (instead of using potholders). I also use it to remove hot lids from pots, turn bacon, grill steaks and chops - it's like having a third hand.

The 12" kitchen tongs are nice and feel reasonably sturdy but be aware they do not have the little metal ring you can use to keep the closed, and the rivet in the pivot is small and cheap and will probably snap before long. It would have taken so little effort to use something sturdier but, considering the low price, I guess the manufacturer had to cut corners wherever they could. If I could have looked at the tongs before purchasing, I probably would have passed. That's not to say I will be returning the purchase. The tongs seem usable and I'm thrilled with the price, just not 5-star thrilled.

I would buy it again, it worked really well for me in the kitchen, and it's more durable than others on the market.

I like these stainless steel tongs. They are strong and long enough. I like using them for all things cooking. Whether its taking bread out of the bag, ham or turkey out of the package, and flipping the food during cooking.

Rarely do you make a purchase that forces you to question your past purchases. Opening the Amazon box to see these tongs staring back was one of those moments. For years, big tong (oxo) had me believing good tongs cost $$$. I had accepted that tongs were just expensive to produce and, if you wanted quality, you’ll have to pay. Then I found these. $4. They have to be total crap I thought. But wait, the reviews. I’ll order 3. Screw it, I can’t remain a cog in big tongs machine. There’s a better way. For me. For you. For us. It’s this. This tong is the best I have ever used. It’s strong, it’s springy, it’s easy to clean, and best of all it’s cheap. Stop reading and buy it. Then pass along this tong gift. Tell another soul corrupted by big tong and their lies. There is a better way.
