Ordered from Southwest a few times now for trailer parts and they're always reasonable and responsive; and you can't beat the price. In this order for 2x kits, I received everything except one of the bolt kits was too small. I was able to reuse hardware from the removed brakes, but still...

Bought these to convert my boat trailer over to electric brakes. Very well built and packaged nicely. Mounted right up with no issues.

The self adjustment brakes are a good idea. The biggest problem with these is the adjuster wheel at the bottom has a one way pawl design. So if they over adjust good luck trying to back the shoes off. One of the wheels did just that, you can't turn the adjusters back because you can't grab the pawl with an adjustment lever. The old star or notch design you can easily back off. Now I have to remove the backing plate with the drum and pry it apart. It's not worth the hassle of this design failure especially if you're on the road. I'll stick to the manual adjustment . Going to remove these and right to the scrap yard with them. I'd rather crawl under every year and adjust than this binding and not being able to easily back off.UPDATEThere is absolutely no way to back off the adjusters. So now I have to remove the entire drum and backing plate. I can't separate them so now I have to order 2 new backing plates, a new drum and new bearings for the side because it over adjusted and is stuck. I hope people read this and avoid my costly mistake. The design of these is Terrible. Stick with the adjustable ones and you will never have an issue!!Third update! I contacted the seller and explained my issue, they replied with a smart a$$ remark that you don't adjust self adjusting brakes. So that's their resolution to this problem. So if this is the company you want to deal with good luck! Those self adjusting brakes locked up my left side drum to the point the drum temperature hit 230F. I explained to them the issue and all I sent them a simple message of what happened and how I now have to order more parts due to their "self adjusting brakes" malfunctioned. What if I was on the road and had to do a repair. I pointed out the design does not let you back the brake shoes off if they over adjust. All I got back was a smart remark. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! Thanks Do yourself a favor. Look up Southwest wheel Dallas Texas, read all the crappy reviews and remarks from the owner.. just cause you've been around since 1919 doesn't mean your any good at it. Their parts are all from China and that's a fact. This company seems to act as if they knew Henry Ford first hand.I bought a set of Dexter brake assemblies, the are made in America and I know their customer service aren't a bunch of wise guys behind a keyboard

Replacement for my 5 year old brakes. Good value, does the job.

I did not dislike anything about the product and it was clean and easy work. Typically on parts I order I have to modify in some way to make them work, these actually were a direct fit.
