GEMYSE Men's Winter Ski Jacket Waterproof Snow Coat with Detachable Hood

SIZE: I'm 6'0” 250 lbs. All of my coats and jackets are XXL and fit fine. I heeded the reviews and bought next size up, 3XL. Good thing, too. It fits just fine and 2XL would definitely have been too small. The sleeves are just the right length for me, end right where my hands begin, and the hood is large enough to wear a ski cap underneath but not too big to flop over my forehead. THE WRINKLES: Yes, as so many reviews said, it is very wrinkled out of the bag. But, as I suspected, a 15-minute tumble in the drier at lowest temp setting smoothed all of them out. HEFT: It's a heavy coat. I like the faux fur lining, even if it doesn't carry over into the sleeves, which would probably restrict movement anyway. For windy conditions in the 20s, teens, and even colder, I'm guessing this will serve well to keep me warm. STORAGE: Outer hand pockets are large enough to get in and out of while wearing big winter gloves. The breast pocket will easily accommodate a phone, small camera or GPS trail navigator. All 3 have zippers. Inside, there is one large “cargo net” which I guess is for maps or carrying gloves, cap, etc and then a zipper pocket same size as the outer one. FOR RAIN: The outer shell is identical to the other coats and jackets I own that are labeled waterproof; almost rubber-like and feels durable. That's a good start since those garments do a great job of keeping me dry after being in the rain all afternoon. PURPOSE and DURABILITY: I intend to use this coat for light-duty service – walks around the block, easy flat-trail day hikes, running errands in the truck, and for small tasks around the yard. The idea is to save wear on my North Face McMurdo so it will last longer for serious winter hiking and camping (since it cost about 6X as much). For this purpose, I'm impressed with the construction and for light-duty use I feel confident it's going to last a long time. I read many reviews condemning construction and complaining of tears, busted seams, broken zippers and loosened stitching. I'm guessing these occurred from heavy duty use – back packing, climbing, lifting, laboring, and lots of hours of heavy duty use through which one shouldn't count on a $50 coat to last long. If that's the case, I can recommend the McMurdo. However, I could be wrong. This review's based on out-of-box observations. I've yet to wear it in cold or inclement weather but I'm pleased with first impressions and look forward to wearing it often through this coming north Oklahoma prairie winter. If anything goes wrong, I'll certainly be back to update this review. Until then, no news is good news.

I'm going to start out by saying that I do not ski, snowboard, or do any other outdoor winter activities. Actually I really can't stand winter and I absolutely hate cold weather. So you're probably wondering why I am doing a review on this particular coat? The older I have gotten the more and more I dread winter because of how cold I get from being outside. Even for a short period of time. I am from Chicago and those of you that are familiar with our weather know how cold and snowy it can get here. I was on the hunt for a good winter coat that would be great for temperatures between 18 degrees to 30 degrees. I have a coat for 18 degrees and below that. The reviews that helped me the most were the people from Canada, Minnesota, Wisconsin. etc. If they give this coat their stamp of seal of approval I am all on board with that. I noticed from the description that it was exactly what they said it would do. Unfortunately I won't get to try this out with temps lower than 18 degrees because I think the harshest part of our winter is over. The past two weeks have been cold and a little snowy and It stood up well for what I wanted it to do. The jacket is wind proof and does allow a little bit of breathing to not make it completely wind proof. Depending on wind gusts and temperature drop from the wind which is a huge factor here. I wore a thin sweatshirt underneath and it kept me warm during the stretch of 18 to 20 degree days we had. Having the sweatshirt also tested if there was enough room without being too snug and it was comfortable. I also was looking for jacket that was stylish and classy that doesn't fall under the puffy coat trend that makes you look like one of the cast members in Zoolander. If I had to say anything negative about this coat it's the hood and the yellow lettering on it. I normally don't use hoods anyway but this hood is absolutely huge and I'm not sure why. It's annoying when it's windy because it will hit you on the side of the face because of it's size. The yellow lettering seems like I'm being a little critical but I would have picked gray or black. Yellow makes the coat look like you work for a big company and they can afford to buy all their employees this type of coat. I get it. It's about marketing your brand. Overall I love this coat and it meets all my needs. I wasn't looking for an expensive coat which goes just on it's name like North Face. I never owned a North Face but I can't imagine it being much different from this coat. This coat is a really good buy and I am quite happy with it.

This GEMYSE Ski Jacket is spectacular. Honestly, it outperforms my Oakley Ski Jacket which cost nearly 4x as much. Pros: - Incredibly Warm: This jacket is a beast when it comes to keeping you warm. The thick faux fur lining and quality insulation make it perfect for even the coldest winter days. - Thumb Sleeves: These are a game-changer for keeping snow out when you're wearing gloves. They create a snug fit around your wrists, preventing any cold air from sneaking in. - Tons of Pockets: Whether you need to store your phone, wallet, snacks, or other essentials, this jacket has you covered with plenty of internal and external pockets. - Interior Faux Fur Lining: The plush lining adds an extra layer of warmth and comfort, making it feel like a cozy hug on the inside. - Removable Hood: This is a great feature for versatility. You can easily remove the hood when you don't need it, making the jacket more adaptable to different weather conditions. Cons: - Bulkiness: While the warmth is a major plus, the jacket can feel a bit bulky and restrictive, especially when layering up underneath. - Fit: Some users have reported that the jacket runs slightly small. I normally wear a large and a large fits me well in this jacket but slightly on the bigger side. - Material: The outer material, while durable, can feel a bit stiff and less breathable than some other options on the market. If you're wanting this, though, I assume it's because you need a very heavy duty winter jacket and if so, this is a great option. Overall, the GEMYSE Men's Ski Snow Jacket is a great choice for those who need a lot of warmth and protection from the elements. I'm a big fan of this jacket and like the versatility and overall value it delivers.

I'll start with the fact I had to order three of the Gemyse Mens Mountain Ski Jackets before I got one worth keeping. I ordered the first one on the "try before you buy" plan. I was delivered in timely fashion and fit nicely, but it had no hood and had a seam that was not sewn. I ordered #2 and it showed up in two days, it fit well but one of the pocket zippers did not work! So, I sent both back and decided to look around. I searched other online sporting- goods retailers and just couldn't find a coat that I liked, so I ordered the third one. Number three showed up in two days and the fit and finish of it are fine. Now have to figure out how to get the wrinkles out. The attached photos are after it's been hanging for 4 days. I'll probably end up washing it and ironing it, per the Care Instructions. OK what I like: 1. It's a good looking jacket. 2. It fits me well. I am 5'-7" approximately 175lbs, medium build. It fits nicely with jeans a a T-Shirt and It fits with a T-Shirt and a lightweight hoodie on underneath it. 3. It's warm. I haven't had a chance to wear it much but have been out for maybe 5-10 minutes in 12°F weather and it was very comfy and warm. I bought it to be my winter jacket. What I don't like: 1. The wrinkles, but I'm sure that will resolve itself after washing, drying and ironing 2. The zippers could be heavier duty, longevity is yet to be seen 3. It's a bit noisy. I won't be wearing it to go hunting! All in all, considering just the jacket I am able to keep, it seems to be a nice winter coat. I'd give it 4-1/2 stars and maybe 5 starts if it lasts for a few years or so.

This jacket was purchased in anticipation of a cold winter and a trip to Iceland and so far, it's been great! It's warm, waterproof and looks pretty good! I am happy with the performance for the price I paid (under $100). For those looking for a coat with bells and whistles, as you can guess from the price, this isn't it. It basically feels like a very thick fleece inside covered with a water and windproof shell. Initially this will feel bulky and heavy because of the way the fleece hugs your body, but I got used to it right away and it feels really comfortable. I like the overall look of the jacket and I especially love the front pocket which is perfect for a wallet or anything else you want to keep safe without it falling out. The jacket is very warm, especially in the midsection. I do, however, feel quite a bit of cold coming through the top on very windy days which causes my upper chest area to get cold. This can be remedied by just not letting cold air get in. Unfortunately, even if it's zipped up all the way, the air will still get through. If you zip up all the way and then put the hood up with the accompanying neck enclosure, that takes care of most of the air and it is substantially warmer. To remedy this completely, just wear a nice scarf in addition to the above and you will be warm and toasty. All in all, the coat is warm, feels sturdy, and I haven't experienced any tearing as indicated in other reviews. I have not done anything incredibly active with it however - just a few short hikes and everyday wear (yes, it's my new favorite everyday winter coat!) Definitely well worth the price and a great option if you're looking for something warm for the winter!

I purchased this jacket in Feb 2022 for use at night while standing at a telescope during the winter. Keep in mind that "standing at a telescope" is not exactly an aerobic sport, especially at 10,000 feet in elevation! My hope was that with this jacket and plenty of layers beneath it, that I'd be warm, this jacket does not disappoint. Fit: With three layers on already (thermal long-sleeve, t-shirt and hooded sweatshirt) this jacket slides right on and the thumb holes for the jackets sleeve liner are easy to find. I ordered a size up to accommodate for the layers beneath, the XL fits great. With at knitted cap and the hood from my sweatshirt on my head the jackets hood slide right over and with the bungy adjusted and velcro applied my head is nice and warm. Function: The jackets zipper is good size and easy to operate even with gloves on. Important to me was being able to seal the cuffs over my gloves, the opening for the jacket sleeve is wide enough to get over the different pairs of gloves I use depending on how cold it's going to get. The velcro on the sleeve gives you a nice tight seal against the cold. There's a zippered pocket on the left outside at chest level that's easy to get to with the right hand, it's easy access for either my voice recorder or cell phone. There's one on the inside left side as well for a wallet or similar if you're travelling. Additionally there are zippered side pockets (left and right) and a loose mesh pocket inside right for bigger items. There's also bungy cords for both the hood and the waist, allowing you to seal off any cold. Impression: I've had this jacket for close to two years now and I feel as though I can strongly endorse this product. I've not found anything I don't like about it. The main thing is, it keeps me warm. I've been standing at the telescope at 10,000 feet in 7 degree temperatures with a slight breeze and I've been comfortable.

I don't own a heavy winter coat as I live in an area of the country where temperatures seldom dip below 40F/4C at night. I am about to embark on a trip where the forecast temperate will average -30F/-34C. A heavy winter coat was needed in short order, but as I will rarely use it, I didn't want to spend a significant amount of money on it. But I was having a hard time deciphering which coats might protect me in such extreme cold, so I purchased this coat as well as two others to try on. I am 6'/183 cm tall and weight 195 lbs/88.5 kg. I usually where a Large Tall in tops. Here is my quick analysis after trying each one on inside for five minutes each: GAMYSE Men's Mountain Waterproof Ski Snow Jacket Winter Windproof Rain Jacket. This one fit as expected, with good sleeve length and appropriate waist length. It is heavy, though not quite as heavy and as the JYG coat. It was as warm, if not a tad warmer than the FARVALUE. It has a snap at the bottom that somewhat secures the waist. It gave me the most confidence of these three coats that it would keep cold air out. The front, neck, and hood also snap shut. It covers the neck very well and the hood is an appropriate size. It has a chest pocket that is on the smaller size; my iPhone 11 just fits. So this is the one I took to Northern Alaska and I am so glad I did. Temperatues averaged -30F/-34C and one day I was outside for 90 minutes when the windchill was -50F/-45C. This coat kept the cold out! I was extremely impressed and grateful of how it performed. If it performs this well in this extreme cold, I am very confident it will perform extremely well in more common and moderate situations. FARVALUE Mens Winter Coats Thicken Puffer Jacket Warm Winter Parka Padded Outwear with Hood. A Large fit as expected, and even the sleeves were a good length for me. But the overall length of the coat was the shortest of all three I tried on. I definitely felt it was not long enough and that cold air would easily invade from the waist area. The fact it didn't really have anything on the bottom to secure it, only magnified that concern. It was the lightest of the three coats I tried on, and although not the softest felt I was wearing a cloud. Although this is not down-filled, it certainly felt that way. But the lack of heavy weight also left me concerned it might not be the best in blocking wind. It was toasty warm wearing inside, so if that was the only factor to consider, I would have gambled it would keep me warm. The chest pocket was plenty deep for most mobile telephones. The front, neck, and hood snapped shut, which was convenient. The hood seemed a normal size. But, alas, I returned this one. JYG Men's Winter Thicken Coat Warm Parka Puffer Jacket with Removable Hood - I followed the sizing chart that indicated I needed an XL. However, I was swimming in it! I reordered a size L. This was by far the softest of the coats I tried on. The sleeves fit me appropriately. It is heavy weight, but after wearing for five minutes inside, the least warm. The heavy weight suggested it would protect against wind. I'm sure it is plenty warm for most cold temperatures in the US, but I need the warmest coat I can get for my budget. The chest pocket was rather shallow. I don't ski so unsure if it would hold a ski ticket, but it would only hold a mobile telephone on the smaller side. The front of the jacket, neck, and hood all close with buttons, which is significantly less convenient that snaps. The hood is definitely oversized. The fake fur lining negatively impacted my ability to see. Though I understand it is removable and would have done so had I kept this coat. There is nothing to secure the waist, so I feared cold air would easily invade my core area. I returned it.

I really love this jacket, and for the price, you really can't beat it! I first tested the warmth over ATV'ing in the mountains over Thanksgiving and was very warm! Breathable often has the tradeoff with wind-resistant jackets (in my opinion), I wore this ripping through the mountains on an ATV in 14° weather and felt nothing under the jacket. If you are looking for breathable, this is probably not ideal for you, if you are looking for warm, this is it! I have now worn this skiing in Whistler and my face and hands got cole, but the jacket kept me very warm the entire time. In fact, I started with 2 layers, went down to just a Smartwool thermal, and now am only using a very thin thermal because I was getting too hot while skiing. My fiancé has a very expensive brand name jacket and says it should be more breathable and doesn't like that when it rains, it does appear to absorb water. I have seen the jacket absorb water and sometimes it does feel a little wet inside at the end of the day, but I have remained dry, so I'm not sure if it's from the rain or sweat. She has also gotten cold in her fancy expensive breathable jacket while wearing additional layers and I haven't even gotten remotely cold even at the top of the mountain on a very snowy day only wearing a very thin long sleeve thermal I got from Costco. I'll post a video down the road but here's some photos and a quick and easy review for now. I love the jacket, it's very warm, inexpensive, and perfect for me as an inexperienced skier that has ended up on the ground in the snow a few times and was also born in Miami, so I am not a fan of being cold. It also has an attached sleeve with thumbholes that I wear a glove liner under and keeps the jacket up and cold weather out. I'm 5'9" / 165 lbs / true medium. The medium fit is perfect. Pros: Very warm, true to size, keeps you dry and warm in the rain, snow, and wind. Very comfortable, zip pockets, velcro sleeve, removable hood that fits over a helmet, and the thumbhole sleeve. Cons: One of the pocket zippers is hard to zip up and down, but hasn't broken. Doesn't breathe, so you may get hot and if you are sweating, your phone or items may get wet if it's in your pocket. Will post a video soon, this is what I've got for now!

Great winter jacket for the deep freeze we are experiencing in Ontario. Purchase this jacket in XL for my husband who is 6'3 and 230lbs. The XL fits him perfectly with plenty of room for a thick sweater or hoodie underneath. Jacket is well made and looks very stylish. Very good deal considering the jacket is comparable to other much more expensive brand name similar winter jackets.

Was looking for a cost effective jacket for the winter since I do not care much for name brands. It is pretty stylish, slim fitting and lightweight. It has built in hand warmers which you need to be careful when putting on and lots of pockets. The inside left zippered pocket is a bit small for my wallet but overall has a great build. My only complaint is that the zipper is not heavy duty and tended to be unzipped from the bottom if I crouched down.
