The frames in the room photos are shown for display only. **Q: Why is the world drawn as a flat circle?** A: Urbano Monte laid the entire known world out flat in 1587, as one circle centered on the North Pole, so it could all be seen at once. It is the world exactly as it was known in that year. **Q: Will the small details be visible at 24x24?** A: Yes, the continents, ships, creatures and banners are clear at 24x24. The tiny hand-lettered place names are easiest to read at 36x36 or 44x44. **Q: What paper and ink is it printed on?** A: Heavyweight 192gsm matte archival paper with pigment-based archival giclee inks, printed in the USA. **Q: Is this an original antique map?** A: No. It is a reproduction of Urbano Monte’s hand-drawn 1587 original, printed in the USA on 192gsm archival matte paper. The deep navy, sea blue and sage tones suit both classic and coastal rooms. ## Frequently Bought Together - Historic Map - Map of the World, 1587, Urbano Monte - Vintage Wall Art 24in x 24in - Flat Earth Map of the World - 1892 Alexander Gleason Map -24x36 inches- Wall Art Poster Print Décor Gift - Circular Plane - Longitude and Time - Polar Azimuthal Projection - Flat Earthers - Unframed Home School Gift Decor - Flat Earth Map - Gleason's New Standard Map Of The World - Medium 18" x 24" Poster Includes FREE eBook and Flat Earth Bumper Sticker --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/227145020-historic-map-map-of-the-world-1587-urbano-monte-vintage](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/227145020-historic-map-map-of-the-world-1587-urbano-monte-vintage) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
