Etc...** A: It is absolutely silent, no sounds at all ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ABSOLUTELY STELLAR CUSTOMER SERVICE - This company is the definition of commitment *by on Reviewed in the United States January 25, 2019* UPDATE FEB 5: I have been completely blown away by this company's commitment to fixing this problem, which they did with grace, diplomacy, care and urgency. The problem turned out to be the cable. They immediately sent me not one but TWO brand new cables. Swapping out the original cable for one of the new ones completely resolved the problem and the hard drive has not dismounted since, despite me trying everything I could think of to get it to dismount. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND THEIR PRODUCTS. In my experience over the last two weeks they have done EVERYTHING right and have provided an absolute blueprint for how every business should treat its customers. It is clear beyond a reasonable doubt that they stand behind the products they sell and will go to extraordinary lengths to make sure you, the customer, is satisfied. I did not dream that things would be resolved this way and could NOT be happier. They have earned a customer for life.UPDATE: Company saw my review an immediately contacted me. Extremely determined to help at all costs and to make the situation right. Great customer service on their part and I have been working with them on solutions. I expect that this will be resolved positively and will update accordingly once the various tests have been carried through. So at this point I can say that this company KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND KNOWS HOW TO TREAT A CUSTOMER. That goes a long way in my book.For an SSD drive at this price point, I was expecting rock solid durability, dependability and endurance. Two strikes and the count is full...waiting for the inevitable third strike. Within a month of using this drive it began to dismount itself continuously without any provocation whatsoever. It spends the majority of its existence laying flat on my work space protected from any disruption and yet it will dismount repeatedly in the middle of editing in Lightroom. It is beyond infuriating. My suspicion is that the cable is a pure pile of garbage because looking at how the connection into the drive sits, it's clear that it is tenuous at best... it is nowhere near a tight lock. On top of the random, ghost dismounting, if I so much as brush the cable with an arm as I reach for my phone, it will dismount. Unbelievable. I can't believe that 1200 buys this level of crap attention to something as simple as a cable. On the plus side, it has not dismounted and then failed to remount... in other words, it hasn't died... YET. I continuously back it up to BackBlaze because based on my experience with every other external hard drive manufacturer (one particular lesson cost me 2500 dollars to recover my data) I know this one will fail one day. Given the rapid drop in prices for SSD memory and the obvious crap shelf life of all of them, I would consider buying the cheapest one you can find and investing in multiple, redundant back ups. That way, when the drive fails (and it will) you're only out a couple hundred and you can restore from your redundancies to a new crap drive. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No Idea What Brand This Was -- But It's Great *by on Reviewed in the United States July 9, 2025* I've only purchased G-Tech drives for years and a couple Fantom drives (7200 rpm) because they had the same insides (Hitachi) at G-Tech drives had, but 75% the cost. But, I edit from 12K and 8K .braw footage and needed an SSD that could hold massive projects. I still don't know what brand this is so I was leery but for the price, I tried one. It was actually great... super reliable after about 1.5 years right now with about 6 TBs of footage on it, varying resolutions, no lag at all.Okay, then I shot a film in 12K and 8K and figured I'd have to turn my footage into proxies (smaller versions of the files) to edit from... nope, not with this. I got a second drive for that project and it's been great, literally taking a break from editing on that right now.I'm a drive snob but I'm amazing by these so far. I thought, well the price is amazing for a 2 TB SSD...so I took a chance. I would be using it for video editing and continuously reading and writing to FCPX. Using this SSD instead of my internal SSD to save room.Well, let me say that I noticed a speed difference immediately, as this SSD wasn't tasked with system functions..just read and write FCPX video. It is very rugged on the outside and has the feel and appearance of a much more expensive drive. I don't know all the technical geek stuff about SSD's...but I know this one is lightning fast, rugged and so far extremely dependable and accurate....I'm sure there are superior drives out there....but for the price...this baby does it all.
