I bought the first one several years ago, and the next two very recently. I use them as backgrounds for portraits and headshots in a small professional studio setting. I usually shoot people separated from the background enough for it to come out of focus, leaving color and the impression of texture. This also smooths any imperfections like nicks and runs that might develop in the material. I appreciate the classic look that they help me achieve. The main aspect I would like to note here is that the material has improved significantly since the first backdrop I purchased. It has always been made from microfiber, but now it is a slightly thicker material with less of a "grain" compared to previous such products from this company. Also, the sleeve at the top for inserting a crossbar on a background stand is about twice as deep, making it a lot easier to place over a pole. These are very significant improvements, without an appreciable increase in weight. Much has been made by other reviewers of the lines formed by folding the backdrop for shipping. I quite appreciate how light and compact this makes the product for easy shipping. After I open each backdrop I simply hang it up on a background stand and use a hand steamer to smooth out the seams, which takes just a few minutes. The best way to store these is upright, but rolling them onto roll them over a tube or pole. A 2-3 inch PVC pipe available at any hardware store is a good option. These are worth a lot more than they cost. Fortunately, they are very reasonably priced, attractive, and easy to use, which makes it affordable to purchase many of them in different colours and patterns/textures for my studio. Review: highly recommend - perfect quality !! it’s thick and sturdy - perfect background for a professional photo shoot. only thing is, I should’ve ordered two to have a full panels, but that’s on me. great size and quality. ## Features - Size: 5X7ft/1.5×2.2m (1.5m width, 2.2m height), items are sent by folding, and easy to carry (The backdrop can be customized). - Material: Microfiber. The pocket is on the narrow side of the cloth and measures about 7-1/4" in circumference, so it will easily fit a pipe with a 2" outside diameter (about 6-1/4" circumference). **Q: Does it block light well? (I would like to use it as a backdrop, but also to solve my "window in the background" problem)** A: As long as the light hitting the front of it is brighter than the light hitting the back of it, you'll be ok. I have that same scenario. You can also try putting a V-flat in front of the window to block the light or put room darkening curtains on the window, or hang room darkening curtains behind it, or even maybe put them on the rod with the backdrop over it. **Q: What size backdrop stand should I get for it?** A: I got the regular photographer stand that you can purchase from Amazon. The rods at top connect by bars. So you don’t have to use them all in order to get the right size/width. **Q: Can the backdrop be hung on a wall, if you don't have a photography stand?** A: Yes, it’s can be hung on a wall, fairly heavy material so doubt if Velcro will hold. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Value and Versatility *by M***N on November 1, 2022* This is my third backdrop from Kate.
