Move over Blue
I have literally purchased just about every cat food, wet and dry. And I have been a long time blue cat food purchaser. However, over the last year, something seems to have changed with Blue food. My cat has been throwing up every day she doesn't like blue cat food anymore. She initially had issues with it because the size is awkward. More like a pellet than a disc, which can be difficult for cats to chew. So after doing some research, I decided to try Open Farms Salmon flavor cat food. It has easy to chew, small size, and from the second I put it in her dish, she was all over it, picking out the open farms food over the blue food. And that is no small feat. As you can see in the video, when I tried to place the food next to a dime to take a video of the size, she repeatedly wouldn't let me, and kept trying to eat it. You can't get any higher praise than that. I have seen in comments that the whitefish flavor is very smelly, the salmon flavor doesn't have a very strong smell. But even if it did, it wouldn't matter. What my cat will eat, and not get sick, is what's most important. In the couple of days that I've been feeding her Open Farms, she hasn't thrown up once. The price is reasonable, for a non GMO, zero by product food. And one of the best parts is, you can enter the lot code, and track your bag of food to the source. Wow, talk about transparency. The Salmon flavor, has no chicken in it, which I appreciate. If I wanted chicken in my fish flavored cat food I would order chicken cat food. This is one of my biggest pet peeves with box store pet food. This cat food has salmon as the number one whole food in the ingredient list, the only thing that can make this cat food better, is to not use any meal sources at all. The last thing to touch on, is that in many top tier cat foods, put way too many herbs and vegetables in it. Then the cat food ends up being like a pasta dish full of oregano. And while this cat food does have some, for example, dandelion greens, pumpkin, and cranberries. Those are vegetables that are actually useful, and limited. I can't wait to try their treats too. Highly recommend. And I don't say that lightly.

Quality dry cat food no chicken
After too many years I discovered my cat's goopy eyes were because of chicken. This competes with other high quality dry cat foods but is a better price. For a quality food it is worth it because my cats eat a lot less since there are no fillers. They ate a lot more blue dry and so it ended up costing about the same per month. My cats really enjoy this food. It has a pleasant fish smell and just really looks healthy. They like the wet pate salmon too and again no chicken. The most obvious change is in her eyes but she is more spunky and cleaning herself more often. She is 12yr Maine Coon. Update 11.28.25 the wet pate salmon is really a big hit never any hesitation when I put it down compared to a former blue pate which was hit and miss. When it's time, they wait for this open farm and then eat it immediately. Their coats are shiny and healthy

Shiny, soft, and healthy kitty
I googled for some of the best cat foods for my new cat and this was one of the top recommended brands for the salmon flavor, prevention over maintenance, from day one he was picking out open farm kibble over his old kibble and within a few weeks he became incredibly shiny and soft, even the vet commented on how soft he is. Love this food!

Kiki loves the food and it's healthy
I was feeding my cat, Kiki, a prescription brand food for a few years to get her drink more. I noticed she was having trouble pooping and it was small and hard. I told a friend of mine about the problem and she suggested I feed her Open Farm because it was natural. So I tried it and in a week she was able to have normal poop. I got rid of the prescription food that was poisoning her. Now if I can only get her to poo in the litter box instead of plants. I'm so glad she is feeding her cat Open Farm and told me about it.

All the cats liked it
Made my cat constipated, but I think it's a Gilbert kitty problem not an Open Farm cat food problem. All the cats liked it but I switched their food after the constipation troubles.

Lily eats this like it's and addictive cat candy.
My cat, Lily, eats a lot though she is not fat, just big and active. I wanted to introduce a dry food to save us from having to continually fill up her dish throughout the day. I bought this for the high quality ingredients hoping she would like it as she has only had wet food for her 4 years of life. Holy smokes! You would think this was "cat candy". We have to keep it from her until the wet food is gone or she will only eat this food. I don't think it is good to only give our animals "kibble" or any diet of one thing only. Plus it sucks all the moisture out of her body as she is now drinking a lot more (cats get a lot of the moisture they need from their food usually). Anyway. This was a huge hit with her and as long as we make sure to rotate the choices it's working out as planned. I will continue to buy this for her. Otherwise she may try to kill us when we sleep. :-P

Good food that my cat likes!
My little cat loves this food and no more throwing up!! I was at my wits end trying to figure out what to feed her. I bought the wet food also and she loves that as well. Very happy so far!

Cat Favourite
I’ve been buying Open Farm’s Wild-Caught Salmon Cat Food for years, and I can honestly say it’s the best choice I’ve ever made for my cat. The quality is outstanding — you can tell right away that it’s made with real, responsibly sourced ingredients. My cat absolutely loves the taste and has never gotten bored of it, which says a lot! I also love knowing that the salmon is wild-caught and the company commits to ethical, sustainable practices. Since switching to this food, my cat’s coat is shinier, her energy is great, and even her picky eating habits have improved. It’s a bit more expensive than some brands, but the quality and peace of mind are worth every penny. Highly recommend this to any cat owner who wants premium nutrition without compromising on sustainability or flavor.

Made in Canada & very high quality food!
My cat loves this kibble (often chooses it over his wet food) and I love the fact that it’s made with human grade, high quality ingredients- and made in Canada! I’m going to try Open farm wet food next, but it’s hard to find in single cans so I can see if my cat will eat it.

Cat approved
Was expecting a larger bag based on cost but my cat approves. Only con is the price (4 stars if you factor that in).
