Love the look
NOTE: I forgot to put plugs over holes on the arms, but they ARE included.Overall, the exact style I wanted, wood and fabric look great and a steal at this price! They're also comfortable and the arms are surprisingly well placed.Easy to put together. 100% doable by yourself but a second hand can be helpful to hold things. Took 10-15min per chair.Wood is a little light, but completely understandable for the price. There were no scratches, dents, dings, and the upholstery was in perfect condition. The packaging was very secure.

Good Bargain on Mid-Century Modern-Inspired Game Room Chairs
First, I get a thrill every time I pass these stylish chairs, which I use in the game table area of our rec room. I think they are beautiful and sculptural, as through they were designed by a noted Mid-Century Modern designer like Risom or McCobb or Wormley. But the designer is uncredited, and I got what I think was a really good price for them on Amazon.com.Expect to spend about 15-20 mins to assemble each chair you buy. The instructions are pretty straight-forward. They involve piecing the right arm and leg together with the front and back cross pieces on which the seat cushion rests and then assembling all of that to the left arm and leg. In between, you sandwich the back rest.Joinery involves fitting dowels into holes, tightening hex bolts with a supplied hex driver, and screwing Phillips screws to secure the seat cushion to the chair. (Gotta use your own screwdriver.) I reinforced the dowels by squirting just a bit of Elmer's into the holes before tightening the hex bolts. Nothing holds wood furniture together like wood glue dried under a little pressure.I was really satisfied with the finished result, and the chairs are really quite comfy. The arm rests support the tops of your arms comfortably while giving you lots of freedom to, for example, deal a hand of cards.I would have given 5 stars except:- The finish on the wood, while very attractive and a true dark walnut, is pretty brittle. I accidentally scraped some of the finish off the arm rests while I was assembling one of the chairs, and I was being really careful. Now the chair looks like it might have come from the MCM period itself, so oh well.- One of the hex bolts would not seat properly in its pre-drilled hole, because the hole was missing a built-in nut. There wasn't anything I could do. So I am relying on Elmer's to hold that particular chair together.I would recommend these chairs. They look just as pictured, with the exception that the upholstery is kind of a taupe color, verging more toward brown than grey, and even has a tinge of lavender, but definitely not brown-brown.

Manufacturing flaws causing weak strength and sturdiness issues
The media could not be loaded. Some people are having sturdiness issues with these chairs and that may be because holes drilled for the dowels in cross members are too large resulting in a loose fit. We shimmed these holes with slices of wood and added generous amounts of glue hoping that this will make these chairs secure. Only time will tell. It's a shame that this manufacturing flaw is causing these chairs to be weak because the wood is good quality and they look very nice.

Looooong time user buys a new chair set.
Unlike most, I've owned an almost identical set of chairs for over 25 years. Both time and me now weighing 250 finally spelled the demise of my old dining room chairs. The first thing I did was go to Amazon to look for an identical set of four. Bingo! The Malone Dining Side Chairs are almost identical to my old set, though this new set has a glossy dark wood finish and the old chairs had a oiled teak finish that I prefer. The Malone set also uses heavy bolts + wood dowels to connect key sections--the old set only used glued-in dowels. These Malone chairs should prove much more robust.ASSEMBLY: All you need is a Phillips screwdriver; they include a hex wrench in the package. They delivered two well-sealed boxes containing four chairs in 2-3 days. The first chair took me over an hour to assemble because I messed up and reversed the cross-braces. The second chair took me about 35 minutes, again because I got in a hurry and reversed the seat back. D'oh! The final two chairs went together in about 20-25 minutes each. My advice--read the simple instructions first!I'm totally satisfied with these elegant Malone Dining Side Chairs. The classic gray fabric, moisture-resistant wood and sturdy construction should allow these chairs to last a couple of decades. Honestly, I would have paid twice as much for these chairs.Five stars!

Looks Great But...
These are beautiful chairs but after only a couple of weeks they are falling apart. We followed the assembly instructions exactly. I’m disappointed we spent this money.

Beautiful chairs, but don't expect them to last
I purchased 6 of these chairs about 3 years ago, for the same reason as many of the 5 star reviews. These chairs have a sleek and modern look at an affordable price, looked great in my space!3 years later, 3 of these chairs have broken and are no longer usable. These are located in my dining room so had only occasional use. One of them broke at the base of the seat, in the other two the back of the chair broke off while in use (I weigh 150 lbs). The back support is only held in place by 2 small wood dowels, clearly not meant to last for a long time.I reached out to the seller with my concerns and they replied that there is no support available (even for direction on how to fix or repair them) and identified they do not warranty chairs and the manufacturer has a 1 year warranty. If you do decide to buy these chairs, just be prepared they are only going to last for a couple years, if that. Pay close attention to the condition of the chairs about 10 months in so you can use the manufacture warranty for replacement if needed.
