TLDR; originally nervous about ordering unlocked phone; working great 1 week in
TLDR; originally nervous about ordering unlocked phone; working great 1 week in; fingerprint reader is mehFully unlocked Galaxy S20 Ultra (Renewed) ordered from thegadgetdeals on Amazon Marketplace to replace my Galaxy S9, which I have really enjoyed over the last 3 years but is now too slow and not enough storage for my liking. I went with the S20 rather than upgrading to an S21 primarily because of the expandable storage available with the S20 [I'm bummed Samsung is going away from this - it was one of the great things that set them apart from Apple... boooo!]. Anyway, Verizon has pretty much refused to restock their S21 Ultra 512 GB during the last 4-6 months, hence I ultimately pulled the trigger on this phone.Regarding the product according to the seller: arrived quickly and as promised. Few scratches on back cover that I care nothing about at all (expected as this is a refurb). Otherwise, seems in great condition. Came with a charger as promised. I was nervous about ordering unlocked phone as I have always purchased through my carrier, but I inserted my Verizon sim card, and it seems to be working great.Regarding the phone itself (S20 Ultra versus my old S9): FAST - by far what I'm happiest about. My old phone was really dragging in responsiveness. Front (selfie) camera noticeably WAY better. Rear camera - I'm sure is better, but I expected to notice a huge difference and other than the fact that I can zoom in a lot more, the quality when I zoom in isn't just over the moon better than my old phone (ie, on 8x zoom, photos from the 2 phones look similar). But I will say, the "live focus" that resembles the "portrait mode" of an iPhone makes me excited. Plus there's other nice features, like zooming out (wide view), etc. Overall happy with this. NEGATIVES..... my only complaint that I hope doesn't ruin my experience with this phone is the FINGERPRINT READER. The actual reader on the back of the S9 was seemingly perfect. I LOVED it - almost never had issues. Why, WHY?! did they go to a digital one. It seems to work fine without a case or screen protector. I've tried a few cases thus far that all claim to work well with the reader but NO. With case on, it works like 25% of the time (followed all the directions). And honestly, I'm not sure I blame the cases - seems like everyone is having issues with this. I'm ordering some screen protectors that have decent reviews and *fingers crossed*. Oh, also, this phone is big, like huge. I think (hope) I'll get used to it, but wow. Samsung, please review the size of female pockets before designing your next phone.

Quality rendered for every dollar spent. Cant go wrong with a company like this!
This product came in excellent packaging, exquisite quality, charger and a screen protector. This is completely uncommon for the way people do business these days and I for one appreciate it with a whole heart. Thank you so much for this beautiful phone. Absolutely pristine!

Check EVERYTHING!
We bought this and thought that it was in good shape, overall it mostly was. The problem was when we attempted to take some pictures. Initially the camera worked just fine but then it seemed like when the phone warmed up, all of a sudden we'd get a message that says "camera failed" before the phone force closed the app. I tried some basic options before returning, ran in safe to make sure it wasn't an app, updated everything I could and did a factory reset, nothing changed. Then when I go to return it, waiting on the refund so I can purchase another phone, the company is dragging its feet on fulfilling the refund. First it said it would be refunded as soon as they received it, then it said it would be an additional week before the refund is issued, NOW its another 10 days before they might refund my money. If you are going to purchase from this company, make sure you check everything on your phone to make sure it is in working order because some things are not immediately obvious. But Honestly I will never buy anything from them again.

Gets the job done. Miss the S9+
My S9+ after about 7 years finally decided it was time to die and betrayed me further by giving me literally no warning. This purchase was more emergency than anything.Initial reaction- CONS1: The camera isn't flush with the back of the phone. unnecessarily Bulky.2: I HATE the on screen fingerprint reader. Hate it. I could unlock my old phone instantly with my eyes closed by feel alone. With the S20 Ultra, You have to make sure your finger is in exactly the right area of the phone, in just the right position and keep it there for exactly the right length of time and it will work the first try maybe 3/4 of the time.3- Flashlight sucks. Considerably. Might as well just use a candle.4- the touch response is too good. If you think about swiping the wrong thing, you get a new window or changed settings. Relax.5-the screen and back of the phone, I'm convinced were specifically designed to attract dust, debris, fingerprints, smears etc. It's disgusting. If I were a stranger and saw my phone I'd immediately think I was a slob. A case is a necessity, not only because the phone I'm pretty sure is plastic. I thought the S20's were aluminum, maybe I just don't know how cheap aluminum is? I'm not confident at all in the durability of this phone or the screen, I'm glad I bought the protection plan. (The covering over the precious camera however, is in fact resistant to debris and fingerprints).6-why is this screen so big, but my status bar with the time and battery life so unreasonably tiny? I'm looking down my nose holding my phone out like I'm 90 years old trying to read the paper, it's absurd? Can you change that?7-simplified and boring drop down menu/notification screen. Feels dumbed down for boring people. Less personalPROS1- Arrived in pristine condition. You'd never know it was refurbished. I can't find a flaw or scratch anywhere. And after seeing reviews and pictures, I looked for them.2-you can't complain on the price.3-battery life is phenomenal. I had no memory of how long a full charge should actually last until I took my S20 ultra out for it's first day on the town.4-It has an SD card slot. I was able to switch over a lot of information from my old phone. I am not in fact 90, I'm only 39, but I still don't like all this saved information in clouds or saved to Google acts etc. Doesn't feel right, I want my information on an object I can hold in my hand.5-has good storage without the SD card too.5-it's not an iPhone. I think we can all agree that's a win.6- it's 5G. Turns out 5G isn't as widespread as the TV lead me to believe. I've seen it connect to 5G once and I drive all around Western New York. But that's still fun7- other than little changes to the UI, updates and external components... It's virtually the same thing as my S9+. Which I loved. So that's a big deal for me. I don't have to spend time relearning how to use it. With the difference in generations, I was expecting bigger changes.Overall opinionI liked my S9+ better. If they could have kept that design and just upgraded the insides over the years instead of needing new actual phones designs, I'd have been thrilled. If my S9+ was still functional, that would be ideal really (I'll miss you S9+ 💋) Having only dealt with the S9+ galaxy, that it the standard I'm judging from. The S20 Ultra feels genuinely fragile in my hands as opposed to the S9+. It feels like a lower quality phone and I do not anticipate the screen or case holding up over the years that I plan on keeping it. So I would recommend the protection plan offered.
