Absolutely beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful.

Excellent quality, but one small thing...
... although I knew it didn't come with an "openable" metal back to secure the scroll inside, not including that was the only --though bothersome-- fault.

Mezuzah arrived!
The Mezuzah is lovely, but arrived one day late. That is OK, like people delivering pizzas. I would rather they go slower, be safe. It arrived on the first night of Chanukkah. That's sort of special. Thank you.

The klaf is photocopied and the back is not strong or durable to hold the klaf inside.
This is a beautiful Mazuzah that is well made. However, the issue I have with this product is: (1) the Klaf, or the parchment contained inside the case and inscribed with a Jewish prayer from the Torah; Deuteronomy 6:4 and 11:13-21. To be valid, klaf parchment is supposed to be handwritten by a qualified “Sofer Stam”, who underwent training in relevant religious laws and different impractical parts, such as carving the quill and practicing writing. Anyway, the klaf parchment is supposed to be written in black indelible ink with a special quill pen made by either a feather or a reed. - so my first issue is the fact that the parchment seems to be printed, and is definitely not handwritten. It looks like it’s typed or photocopied, which makes this an invalid Mazuzah. Also, the tape keeping it tightly rolled up, easily rips the parchment. (2) my second issue with this product is the back. The klaf goes inside the decorative case (mezuzah), however, the klaf is kept inside by a piece of velvet to cover the back of the mezuzah. However, the glue that holds the velvet to the back of the Mazuzah is not at all strong, and does not stick. You need to use other glue for it to stick. And when you must check the Klaf every 7 years, or those diligent in Mitzvot, have their klaf checked once a year during the Jewish month of Elul, which is the month before the High Holidays, the velvet glue will not stick or protect the Klaf. The back should be protected by better material, such as silver, metals, wood, stone, ceramics, pewter, etc. But definitely not velvet.
