Fun and challenging game!
Background Info: We are a family with two teenage boys (17 & 18). We've been taking the kids to play pub trivia since they were 12-13 with semi-regularity (10+ times a year) and they grew up loving the family version of Trivial Pursuit and Mind the Gap has been a recent favorite. So while we're not trivia experts, we're fans of trivia games in general. The Why: I purchased this version because we're long overdue for an upgrade in our Trivial Pursuit since no one in our family is young enough for the family version anymore. How it went: Pretty good! We had a fun time playing this game (me, my husband, my sister, and the two boys) as a mixed group of 40-somethings and older teenagers. There was a definite mix of really hard questions and total softballs with plenty landing in the middle. The game ended with one adult taking a decisive lead and winning the game, the other 2 adults had 3 pies, and the 2 teenagers had none but that's because we played the harder way where pies were only earned on pie pieces and not on every question. Next time we'll probably play it the easier way to see how it goes because the kids were definitely getting questions right, just not at pie-time! Overall: We'll definitely play this game again. It wasn't the smash hit I'd hoped for at first play but we also had a fun couple of hours together as a family!

A Terrific Edition of the Classic Game!
I have the original game from the 1980s. We still play it at home and love it. But after decades of playing the same questions, we wanted to spice up our gameplay. After scanning the card sets out there, it made the most sense to buy the new version of the game, board and all. I'm so glad we did. The new version is colorful and vibrant. They replaced the old brown (literature) with purple and the design POPS! The wedges now have height to them and go into the game pieces more easily. The updated questions are challenging and fun. I like the fact that some of the questions are visual (with pictures on the card that you have to identify). And some answers include a sentence of trivia to explain a bit further. The new game comes with a timer (which we didn't use and which I think is an unnecessary addition). Otherwise, I'm completely happy with this purchase. Updated questions, turbo-charged design, still thoroughly enjoyable!

Another fun-family game!
Ordered for family game night- we had a wide age range from 13-65 playing this. Everyone was able to answer these questions. Good questions, some easy and some we were all stumped. Fun game. Will keep this on the family game night shelf. Great for trivia lovers

I'm happy enough.
Overall, this product is great. Questions are recent enough that I have a chance at winning the game, but still plenty that stump me royally. I love the new piece design and the extra space in the boxes to add cards. What I don't love is that some of the questions are just in the wrong category (so far I've played 3 times and found half a dozen of these). At least one question so far had an incorrect answer. There's extra informative information by the answers, which is great, but which answers get these fun facts seems entirely arbitrary and random. I feel these bits of information should be on all the answers, I really don't see why not. My complaints are not so important in the big picture of the game. We had a great time and we took to skipping things that were just wrong. But I feel like Hasbro could use a few more fact checkers and proof readers on the payroll.

Fantastic game!
I love this game back in the 1980s and 90s. However trying to play my original Trivial Pursuit game from that time frame doesn't work very well. The questions are very outdated on the old version, which is why I ordered this new version. The questions are perfect. My 14 and 17 year old kids had a blast, although we do typically play the shorter version where you get a wedge for any questions answered correctly, not just on the wedge space. I gave four stars on good for traveling because it is a large item with small pieces oh, so you would not be able to play this on the plane or somewhere that you did not have a fairly large table space to put the board on. Overall a great game, educational and fun for kids even as young as 14.

Great Game from 2009
Game came in in excellent condition. We have been on the hunt for a game with "new" questions, and many of the newer versions are a bit gimmicky. So we tired this one, because it looked like it could be a recent edition. When the game arrived, the copywrite date was 2009. Still, we are enjoying it!

10/10 trivia!
Great newer version of trivial pursuit and can be a fast paced game or can take a long time, design is great and easy to learn! Great family game night!

Great New Edition
I bought this edition as Christmas present. As per usual, Amazon sent it quickly and efficiently. It arrived in plenty of time for the holiday. The new edition includes the most up-to-date questions you can find in Hasbro's traditional board game editions (there are some video game editions that are even more up-to-date, but we still enjoy the process of getting out the board, setting up, reading the questions to each other, etc). Up-to-date questions made the game accessible both to older players (30-35) and younger players (20-25). Veterans of trivial pursuit will likely be familiar with the difficulties that arise when the pop culture and politics questions are too far in the past to be answerable by younger players. Though some of those questions still exist to separate the boys from the men (literally and figuratively), they are balanced with a number of questions about more recent events, including 2000s movies, the Iraq War, etc. Nothing about the mechanics of playing the game have changed in the newest edition, which is fine if you're like me and you were really just looking for a set with up-to-date questions. There is a timer included in the set, but we usually don't play with it, since half the fun is watching your friends struggle and talk-through answers to the questions. The timer isn't integral to the game play. Colors, pie wedges, etc. all remain the same.

Trivial pursuit

For those of us who like a knowledge competition, the Trivial Pursuit Master Edition is a joy to behold. A redesigned game board with a traditional Trivial Pursuit pattern allows veteran players to easily adapt to the game and get right into answering the questions. For newcomers, the rules continue to be easy to understand and never a distraction. Change has been made to the design of the box and the pieces themselves that facilitates the placement of pieces and the after-game cleanup. The questions, still divided into the well-known categories, are comprehensive and clever although some review is necessary to insure that the point of a question is not lost by a complicated or confusing sentence structure. A useful timer (batteries not included) has been added to this edition The Trivial Pursuit Master Edition is a refreshing, enjoyable, and educational use of time with family and friends.

I had great memories playing trivial pursuit in my youth and I was excited to reintroduce this game to my children. Sadly the questions remain dated, not relevant for millennials and overly US centric. With so many options out there and online, I would not recommend this game anymore.
