PowerBar Harvest Energy Bars, Toffee Chocolate Chip, 2.29-Ounce Bars (Pack of 15)

This has been my favorite post-workout bar for probably 6 years - I only eat the Double Chocolate Crisp flavor though....can't stand the others! But the Double Chocolate is a wonderful flavor - tastes like real chocolate, in my opinion. Although it's labeled as a pre-workout meal, I prefer it post-workout.It has about a 4:1 ratio of carbs:potein, which is the ratio I look for after higher intensity training sessions. It's also one of the only bars I've tried that really and truly tastes good. Probably the best tasting chocolate bar I've found (Kashi makes a great Cinnamon Vanilla one, but not a great chocolate one, IMO).Also, the ingredients are fairly healthy. I try to eat as organically and naturally as possible (which isn't always possible!), but this one is pretty decent - not great, but decent. I still give it a 5 star, mostly because after all these years I still really look forward to eating this bar after working out!There's no grocery stores that carry this bar in my area - so thanks amazon for keeping this avaialble! Not sure what I'd do if this ever stops being made....

I have these on autoship and eat about one box a month. I work out after work and mainly use these late afternoon as pre-endurance snacks so I am not drained for my workout. They provide 130 caloris (versus 200+ for Clif Bars, Odwalla, or Lara bars) so they are perfect to get some calories in without having to eat half a meal. For workouts longer than an hour, I eat one of the higher calorie bars. I like the texture and flavor and they have only 9 grams of sugar.

PowerBar has changed to a "New!" recipe and not for the better in my opinion.They have also decreased the size of the bar from 2.29 oz to 1.76 oz without a corresponding decrease in price, so you now get 2 for 1!A product of lesser quality and also of greatly decreased price.It is still a palatable bar, but nowhere near the quality of what they were making just a few month ago.I left feedback directly with the manufacturer, but they seemed to be less than interested.

I have been eating these Harvest Bars for years. They have had a unique taste compared to most other products in their class and never leave me feeling hungry. Now, the PowerBar corporate geniuses have figured out the following:1. You can change the product anyway you care to and nobody will notice or complain.A. New Harvest Bars are now much smaller for the same price. 2.29oz. has been cut down to 1.65 oz.B. New Harvest Bars have more calories from fat.C. New Harvest Bars have Changed almost all the ingredients so the flavor is unrecognizable to the original product.D. New Harvest Bars are sweeter using less Brown Rice Syrup and more Cane Inverted Syrup. (In my opinion, this makes these new Harvest Bars taste like candy, an experience I do not want !)

This is a great product. However, the subscription process on Amazon leaves some to be desired.I love the concept and am trying it once again even after saying "Never again" over trying toget the subscription for this product cancelled. ... for months... and then getting a forcedpurchase - delivery that I found out about by seeing the charge show up in my online bankstatement and a few days later on my door step. Automated shopping is supposed to be EASIER.Having to repeatedly address this sort of snafu is what sends many shoppers back to thebricks/mortar stores.

I have a tendency to run late for work or to skip meals so I was looking for a convenient meal bar that I could use. I was attracted to this particular product because it included a fair amount of protein, vitamins and minerals and fiber. The double chocolate taste sealed the deal. I really like the taste of these bars and the fact that I can use them as a meal replacement.The only problem is that they are very chewy. I actually like that, but I did break off a crown while eating one of the bars. Before I even said anything, the dentist asked me if I was eating something chewy or sticky when it happened. Didn't know that chewy/sticky foods were hard on crowns.They are hard to find now in stores, so I've found that Amazon is the best place to buy them.

Good product though a bit sweet. It gives me the energy that I need for a quick snack. I will try different flavors though. So far I've had the double chocolate crisp and the chocolate toffee flavors and I would buy them each again.

In general, I despise "energy" food. Be they drinks like Rockstar or bars like Powerbar Protein Bars, I hate them all because they taste bad, fake. However, my friend introduced me to this particular flavor of PowerBar Harvest Whole Grain Energy Bar expressly because she knew I hated the dry granola consistency of Kashi, NutriGrain, and Luna bars.This taste so yummy I have to refrain myself from eating more than one at a time. I buy these things a box at a time and savor every bite. They're sweet without being overwhelming, filling, chewy, have a hint of spices, and never fail to make my tummy happy. I've tried the other flavors of Harvest Bars, but none of them come close to the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie (a very impressive feat considering I usually prefer chocolate things to oatmeal raisin things).I highly recommend these for people who want a healthy snack alternative that actually tastes good while delivering some essential nutrients and vitamins.
