The Year of Magical Thinking

One word: SUPERB.

The highlight of this listen for me was Vanessa Redgrave. She's such an incredible and well-known actress (and for good reason!), and has done a one-woman show based on this book--so you know she knows it in and out. That really brought it to life off the page and into the Audible production.It's also a fascinating and sad insight into grief, unexpected deaths of loved ones, health problems, and how one woman (which could just as easily be any of us, too) reacted to all of the above. Powerful.

When it began I was surprised to hear how quavery Vanessa Redgrave's voicee was, but I persisted and fell in love. She is a genius and brings Didion herself to life, much less her words. I absolutely loved it!

Tradigies pile up in Mrs Didions life and she deals with her greif in unique ways.
