SOOO much better than the handheld urinals and a real time saver, too!
My husband has a life threatening illness and is in bed for most of the day. He was using the handheld urinals (to the tune of 8 or more in a day which I rinsed out twice then disinfected with Povidone iodine (which is a natural disinfectant that doesn't harm the body which hospitals used until man-made stuff came along) after each use so they didn't carry germs or stink of urine. It was quite the hassle but I was more than willing to do it so long as it was needed. Then while ordering more (because the plastic piece that hold on the lid breaks after repeated use) this one came up as an option. I'd nothing to lose but $20 and a lot to gain if it worked, so I ordered it. It's such a time saver! I only have to rinse & disinfect once or twice a day and it works great.A review I read mentioned it leaking. The only time it has leaked for me is when I left it too long not realizing how much my husband had used it (I have the dark blue one). This one only leaked because I left it to get too full. That was my error. I think I could stop leakage with plumber's tape or a gasket but I don't have a gasket and it works beautifully as long as I empty it in the morning and evening first thing. That's so much better than the alternative that I'm really happy with it. Since I can't see into the jug to check how full it is, I put one of those dog pee-pads with the blue plastic backing under it (the smallest you can get here on Amazon). And since I didn't want the thing he places against his body to urinate into sitting on the sheets (and possibly dripping onto them), I bought a child's IV pole, put that against the side of the bed, and hang it on that. I've attached pics of what my set up looks like. It works great. I've had the handheld kind fall over and spill (such a delight) but I've never had this one topple over.I use Povidone Iodine. I put it in a 2 oz dropper bottle. I rinse out the urinal twice then add 2 or 3 drops of iodine to the 3rd rinse. I dump the water in the toilet each time. To clean the tube, I run each of the 3 rinses through the tube and into the toilet. It's a little cumbersome but not difficult. If it proves difficult, just use the tub or shower drain. If I use the shower for it, I just run the shower on hot for a couple minutes to clean out the bottom of the shower. If you have a handheld shower spray, it's even easier to clean out the bottom of the shower.I've included the iodine I use, the dropper kit (2oz cobalt glass bottles kit that comes with a funnel), and the IV stand in a public "Things I use" shopping list list here on Amazon. Amazon in no way pays me for anything. I'm not one of their shopping gurus, either. I set up the shopping list because it took a long time finding the things I use and I'd like to help others that may be in a similar situation.https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/31Y71R1CG7W0F?ref_=wl_shareP.S. I bought the hospital bed off of FB Marketplace. I had arranged to buy one here on Amazon but the day it was to arrive (the day my husband was coming home from the hospital) the seller delayed the delivery. I had to cancel the order and scramble to find another bed. This one is older and it squeaks a bit but it is a real (very heavy) hospital bed and does the job well, otherwise.

Perfect to have with you
I was looking for something i could use to pee in after getting out of the hospital.Something that I could have close to me an would hold enough through the night. This is perfect because it has a long hose or if you want you can cut it to size as i did and use it. Its hard for me getting up after being released from the hospital and thise comes in very handy. Plus you can take it with you in the car if you want to. I just wish it was made in a lighter color so you can see if its close to getting full so you can empty it out. I live alone and its hard to empty it out every 2 or 3 times i use it. If it was a little lighter in color I could see how much more could fit without having to get up and empting it. Glad I made the purchase.

Not spillproof
Overall it does what it is supposed to but it's very very much not spillproof. The cap on the spout you empty it from isn't even watertight when it's closed.

Ideal for night time bed/chair bound use, catches the drips
This urinal is ideal for the bed bound human for whom the standard urinal no longer catches the drips of urine. It is easy to use and clean, dries quickly after washing, and allows my Mom to empty less often than a standard portable urinal during the night. This item earns it's keep, offers a smooth contact to skin experience, good value for the cost.

Super ingenious
Fun I love this thing

Works exactly right for the right people!
Works like a dream as long as you’re not bedridden or immobile. The bedridden person cannot manage the cup overflow potential if the hose is laying flat so that it is not draining exactly right. Enough said; you will spend the day changing linens and drying a mattress with a blow dryer.

Important to always tip it downward so gravity is your friend
This OOCOME urinal has proved itself to our caregivers and ourselves.

Does it work in a horizontal position?
I would like to know how this product works lying flat on your back. It collects and stays in the cup, but does not drain into the hose. It works perfectly standing or sitting. I need a product that works horizontal. So disappointed it did not solve my problem.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ The Road-Trip Accessory Nobody Brags About Until They Really Need It
I got this for long drives because I spend a lot of time on the road, and sometimes nature sends an urgent notification when the nearest restroom is still several exits away.At that point, dignity takes a back seat to logistics. This has actually been a very practical thing to keep in the vehicle. It is obviously not the most glamorous travel accessory I own, but when you need it, suddenly it feels like one of the smartest things you packed. For long-distance drivers, road trips, camping, traffic jams, remote areas, or those unfortunate moments when every gas station washroom within 50 kilometres seems to have an "OUT OF ORDER" sign, having an emergency option provides some genuine peace of mind. The design is compact enough that it can stay with my travel gear without becoming an inconvenience itself. More importantly, it gives you an alternative to desperately calculating whether you can make it to the next service centre while reconsidering every coffee you drank that morning. My only real complaint is the modular attachment system. The different pieces are useful in theory, but figuring out exactly what connects where is not particularly intuitive the first time around. This is definitely a product you want to familiarize yourself with *before* the emergency occurs. Trying to solve a small engineering puzzle while your bladder is running a countdown timer is not an ideal learning environment.Once you understand the setup, though, the concept is straightforward and genuinely useful. This would be particularly handy for frequent drivers, truckers, campers, road-trippers, people travelling through rural areas, or anyone who regularly spends hours away from convenient facilities. It is also the sort of emergency item that may sit unused for ages — right up until the day it earns its permanent place in the vehicle. It certainly isn't something I expected to become enthusiastic about reviewing, but here we are.Four stars because it solves a very real problem and makes long-distance travel a little less stressful. Make the modular attachments more intuitive and it would be an easy five.⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 4/5 — Not glamorous, not something you show off to your friends, but when the next restroom is 40 minutes away, this thing suddenly becomes the most important piece of equipment in the vehicle.
