This book holds enormous promise. There are great unseen mysteries of "energy" and "chi" that we Americans associate with Chinese (and sometimes Indian) religious and martial practices. In a sort of optimistic spirit, we might seek out "chi stuff" in our own lives. Most of the time, we just get skunked. We have no luck. We get nowhere. At the most, we might feel some pleasant small tingling of the hands after a whole weekend seminar, and we never get it back again. The author has studied these arts diligently for a long time, and he proposes practical and even simple exercises that anyone can do (even a person of poor flexibility like myself). These do appear to be efficacious toward getting a solid and repeatable experience of these internal energies, natural to the human body. Finding these energies and bringing them into our "life repertoire" couldn't have ill effects and can certainly have good effects. I myself have no wish to beat up anybody. I don't care about martial applications. I do want good health. So, does the book deliver? I think it takes a lot of discipline to do the exercises with the attention and consistency required to make them work. The obstacle isn't a lack of strength or a lack of flexibility, so that they are too difficult for some people to do. That is no obstacle. There is no substantial physical obstacle to this. The "hurdle" is just having the discipline to do it consistently with relaxation and attention. Am I good that way? Yes and no. I do the exercises, sometimes not regularly. I do get rewards from them that are more than any other system I have ever seen or tried---and I've tried a lot. I'm not there yet, but I feel certain that the scraps of experience I have to now will become "the real thing" with enough relaxation and more consistent attention. This appears to be the real thing, and it is very valuable. Usually we question whether a system or method or gadget "will work." In this case, the question is reversed. You have to ask whether the reader will work. If the reader works in a good spirit and with diligence, I think the reward is pretty sure.

All Scott Meredith books and videos are a must for anyone interested in the internal arts..........
.......... Because he actually believes in and talks about internal energy and it's cultivation and flow. These books are not for Materialists. If you don't believe in "Chi", if you only think that Chinese Martial Arts are a type of graceful calisthenics and/or dance for senior citizens, don't buy these books and check into the nearest nursing home. If you want to actually get a grasp of and solid grounding in actually cultivating and using your natural internal energies, and utilizing them for your external and internal health, you need to get these books, Mr. Meredith's dvd's (he has several) and subscribe to his YouTube channel. As an extra added bonus, Mr. Meridth is a Linguist, and this will be some of the most insightful, informative and creative writing you will ever read about any Martial Art or Chi Energy cultivation. Quite good, excellent, and a real "missing link" in Chinese Martial Arts/Energy literature. Mr. Meredith has actually done his own translation of Chinese classics, and this provides the astute reader with real insights into these internal phenomena.

I am a retired Navy Seal, Sniper with over 20 years study of Tai Chi / Xing Xi and if you count gun's and explosives: 40 years of MA's(martial arts): Yes there is some strange here and some things we would have to agree to disagree on, but there is a lot that is worth while. While there are a lot faster routes to functional MA skills than internal MA's these paths are largely populated by sociopathic thugs. On the other hand the internal MA's are largely populated by Paper Tigers. Skilled and willing teachers of the internal are few and they will mostly only teach you so much, to's avoid creating and training thugs. 10 years is barely enough time to judge if a Man or Woman is a Human Being and who has this much time in this day and age. Do you want to be, associate with and train Thugs or Paper Tigers for you are training who you are training with? If you are on the internal path you must take what is given and refine it to make it functional. The true way will not be given to you. As your skill, experience and morality increases you will attract an abundance of thugs and negative expirence's to refine yourself on. For the thug is always under your heel or at your throat. He knows no other way.

Bonnes suggestions mais à ne pas mettre entre les mains d'un débutant ou quelqu'un de non convaincu par le Chi
