The best bang for your buck knife around.
Moraknives are fantastic, nothing more needs to be said. In my picture I originally bought the green one with the carbon steel blade and was so impressed I bought the orange with the stainless immediately after. These are comfortable, durable, multi-purpose, and SHARP. You’re getting $50+ worth of knife for $15. By multi-purpose, I mean you can use it as an every-day carry, a toolbox/fishing/outdoors knife, a hunting knife, or a kitchen knife. It’s that good. If I have one qualm, and it’s extremely minor, I’d have preferred a black sheath. The sheathes being the same bright green and orange colors as the knives make them stand out a ton when worn, but again, not really the biggest deal. But they’re light, they hold the knives securely, and the clip is a nice touch when most knives only offer a belt loop. File these under “will not regret purchase.”

Just buy it! It's an incredible bargain and you'll keep it with you for a lifetime.
This is such an incredible value that you should push "buy it now", and only then finish reading this review. When I wrote this, Amazon had black for $13 and change, and it arrived in two days via Prime. This is the knife you should take camping and hiking. It will slice food, shave tinder for a fire, cut the wood for your emergency shelter and cut a lethal spear for hunting quite quickly, or a bow and arrow or fire drill with more work; hunt, slaughter humanely (with a cut that complies with Kosher or Halal), defend yourself with lethal force. It will hold an edge and you can sharpen it - although that won't be necessary very often. You won't have to oil it after every use like the carbon steel version, and you won't pull it out for your next trip only to find that it's rusted. This is 100% quality and value, and 0% presumption: Made in Sweden out of excellent stainless steel by an old company that's preserved its principles and defined this style of knife. It doesn't come with a fancy brand name and the designer's name at the start of the product name, like so many "designer" knives today. It's just a Mora-style knife made by Mora of Sweden, from Sandvik of Sweden's most well-rounded knife steel. It's made with modern manufacturing processes, isn't handmade and doesn't have the metalsmith's initials struck into it. So, are you willing to carry a second, heavy knife to pair with this one for batoning, prying apart a deer's hip joint, and breaking and entering if that's what it takes to survive? Lots of people pair the Mora with the Ka-Bar BK2, which is more expensive but still a bargain. But if you want to continue the theme of 100% quality and 0% presumption, consider the Sheffield of England-made Footprint Tools Hacking Knife. It's a 1/4 inch thick hunk of carbon steel with a wicked sharp edge, and the back of the blade deliberately left un-hardened and finished rough because it's meant to be struck with a hammer! Ugly as sin, astonishingly cheap with the leather sheath at $27 and change here on Amazon, and able to cut mild steel and lesser metals, brick, wood, PVC pipe, you name it. Want a third cutting instrument? The Laplander saw. Same principles and value, and will educate you about what you've been missing with lesser saws.

Inexpensive quality
Pros: I give this a 5 star rating for the price and practical design. It's super light for backpacking/ BC skiing/hunting/etc... it's stainless steel, sharp, the sheath retains the knife very well , the sheath doesn't soak up water, the sheath can be attached to any waistband, and most of all its inexpensive. Cons: for a fixed blade I could use a slightly large blade for baton-ing wrist sized firewood, like a taller blade, so that you get more drive into the wood before the blade is buried. I thought it would replace a carbon steel, leather sheathed knife that rusts and is too heavy, that I have. Sometimes I can see the blade bending inside the wood if the grains twist, so far it springs back into shape afterwards. Works on pine and most western evergreens, don't use it on oak or dried out eucalyptus. But, hey, it's under 20$, break it and pull out the other one you bought for your boat/truck/cabin/shed/camper/garage/daughter/son/wife/brother/friend...etc

Mora Companion: a trusted classic that won’t fail you
The Mora Companion has been around FOREVER, so I don’t know there is much I can say about it that hasn’t already been said. It’s inexpensive, it can take a beating and just asks for more, the Scandinavian grind makes it perfect for wood work, and it’s thin blade also makes it quite adept at slicing and dressing out small to large game. It doesn’t slice as well as a thin, full flat grind, but it comes close enough to not disappoint. Although I would have preferred the carbon steel — and would recommend that version to anyone in a dry climate — I live in an area where humidity is an issue, so I opted for the stainless steel model. I use both carbon and stainless knives, and, honestly, other than being slightly easier to sharpen and a bit less likely to snap under stress, modern stainless steel is just as good. My only constructive criticism is the sheath: the blade snaps in and hold securely, but after some use, it will fall right out unless you keep the sheath/blade perfectly upright. But this IS NOT a mark against the blade. You can buy Kydex and other aftermarket sheaths online, but they are about 2 to 3 times the cost of the knife — around $25 to $50 as of writing this post. Worth it to me, but most people probably wouldn’t be cool with a sheath costing more than the knife. The sheath it comes with will function just fine. But be careful not to lean to far forward while carrying it, or the knife will slide out. The knife fits my hand very well, great ergonomics, and I have large hands. But even smaller hands will find the handle very comfortable, and it will not move around in your hand while using it. So far, the handle has ZERO hot spots. All-in-all, I DEFINITELY recommend this knife, or any knife by Mora. For the price, durability, and an awesome warranty, you just can’t go wrong.

Fits just right!
Proud to own this knife! Great quality, durable, maintains its edge well. I will definitely buy more. The sheath is a great build, fits on a bikini while diving. Nice widdle knife for around the campfire. Use caution as it is sharp!

You can't beat it for the price.
It's a Morakniv what more is there to say. This came shiny and sharp with the nice polymer sheath. I got this one to throw in a bug out kit, and figured the stainless steal version would be better for sitting in the garage awaiting use. I have a carbon steel version that has had it's share of hard use. It's hard to beat the quality and craftsmanship of these knives for the price. I personally will spend more money on things not made in china if I can.

Another Great Morakniv — Love the Black Version
I already like Morakniv knives, so I picked up this Companion mainly because I wanted the black version. It has the same simple, practical design I expect from Mora, and the handle feels comfortable and secure in my hand. The stainless steel blade is easy to maintain and works well for general outdoor, camping, and fishing tasks. I also like the included sheath because it keeps the knife protected and easy to carry with my gear. For me, the black color gives it a cleaner look than some of the brighter Morakniv options. If you already like Mora knives, this is another solid one to add to the collection.

One of the best knives for the money
It's a mora knife and it works how a mora knife should: super well! It carves wood well, and it sharpens easily, and I don't worry about it breaking. I like the carbon version of this knife a bit more because it is 0.5mm thinner so it slices a bit better, but if you need stainless then this is still perfectly good.

Buena compra
Por ese precio, es una maravilla. Tengo 2. Soy buzo y los utilizo bajo el agua. Eso sí, hay que secarlos cada vez que salen del agua. Cortan muy bien

A Dependable Outdoor Companion
I recently had the opportunity to put Thais great outdoor knife to the test, and I must say, it didn't disappoint. This rugged tool proved to be a dependable companion. One of the standout features of this knife is its thoughtfully designed ergonomic plastic case. Not only does it keep the blade secure and protected, but it also adds a level of convenience to carrying. I had it clipped to my pant without belt while mountain biking, the knife was always easily accessible without being a burden. The ergonomic handle of the knife deserves special mention. Its strength was evident as I tackled different cutting and carving tasks, providing a secure grip that instilled confidence even in challenging conditions. During my time using this knife, it effortlessly handled everything from preparing campfire kindling to assisting in meal prep. The sharpness of the blade remained consistent, and the overall build quality left me assured that this knife would withstand the test of time. In conclusion, if you're on the lookout for a versatile outdoor knife that combines toughness with portability, this is certainly worth considering.
