Better 4K than the Disney+ version
I didn't order this for a long time as the 4K HDR /Atmos version is on Disney+, but as it was in the sale I gave it a go. Played in my PS5 (which isn't the best 4K player out there!) it is head and shoulders above the D+ streaming version, even on my super fast cable. So if you are a collector and wondering if its worth getting, and its on sale, then I would recommend.

A must own for collector's.
Probably my least favourite of the Star Wars films and that's including Solo and Rogue One.The cgi is phenomenal and the three way lightsaber battle is superb but what the heck was George Lucas thinking when he created Jar Jar Binks!?!... And why does Obi Wan Kanobi's hair keep changing length throughout the film??

Brilliant transfer !
Was sceptical if the extra cost was warranted, but I was very wrong. The whole film is an improved experience. Very sharp, crisp and sounds amazing!

4k only a marginal improvement .. if that
If you already own the blu ray of this film The Phantom Menace I'd say you'd already have a picture quality about as good as this version in 4k. Maybe some VERY marginal improvements here and there but most people I don't think would be able see any difference.I can't speak for Dolby Atmos as I don't have speakers that have this, but the film sounds great on any half decent speaker set up whether that's bluray or 4k. Again it's comparable to me.The blu ray for The Phanton Menance is more than good enough, if you're watching the pennies. Don't pay over the odds for very marginally improved 4k version is my advice.

Review of Disc
Oh, Disney. They couldn't be bothered to redo the CGI at 4k, so what we have here is an upscaled 2k scan with some horrendous DNR.The extras disc has been subjected to some awful mistake during transfer too, as the interlaced picture on SD doc The Beginning has come over with visible horizontal lines across the entire image throughout. Not only that, but several deleted scenes are absent. If you have the old DVD set, watch it on there instead. At least it isn't windowed then.

Good 4K
The 4k disc Is more detailed than 2k blue ray, but not demo standard. The HDR10 does make the colours richer with much better contrast. The Dolby Atmos audio is superb & it stiill sounds great if your system is 5.1.

Too political despite some great combat scenes
I have a love/hate relationship with this one. For me it is too political and it feels like it drags at times. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn vs Darth Maul is of course brilliant and showed off well the pace, skill and energy of younger Jedi and Sith in lightsaber combat accompanied by the awesome "Duel of the Fates" music by composer John Williams.

Not 5 star like the originals
On its own it’s a visually stunning film, with good Jedi vs droid battles, Pod Racing, And One of the best light saber battles ever Obi / Qui gon/ vs Darth Maul, the other two prequels I didn’t think much of, but this was good if you don’t compare it to the originals, the prequels as a whole trilogy maybe 3 stars, but this on its own I would say 4 star entertainment,
