Fluke 561 HVAC Pro Infrared Thermometer, -40 to +1022 Degree F Range

Mine came in a hard case with two batteries and in the case is a place to store two spare batteries. Also included is a wired thermocouple that plugs into the IR Thermometer. Much nicer that my last purchase some 15 years back from Fluke.

I’ve had this for awhile now. It hasn’t had any issues. It has the ports at the top for the thermocouple, also (didn’t come with thermocouple though). I like it that I can get a general temp with the laser and a more precise temp when I put on the thermocouple attachment.

A bit on the expensive side, but if I need to check the temperature of a breaker I like to know the temperature, not +/-10%. That said some of the ones in $50 range might have been good enough, but I have used and liked Fluke, so I go with a trusted brand. This one is like the bottom end of price and capability for Fluke. Drawback is the larger check spot. I have to get fairly close (less than a foot for breakers) to a small heat source not to read the adjacent one. Generally, Fluke hasn’t disappointed me yet. One star less for price.

I needed an I/R thermometer to check and monitor my engines in my radio controlled miniature aircraft.I used lesser brands but they seemed to read lower than I thought, and I researched for at least three months and finally decided on a Fluke 561.I will use no other unit, this works flawlessly good solid readings no fluctuation like the others, they would change at least twenty degrees as you were holding on one spot.This unit gives steady accurate readings on my five cylinder radial engine so I can modify my air baffles in order to keep all cylinders close to the same temperature.I also have found countless other uses for it, I could write a book.You can't go wrong with this one.

This product performs as advertised and is easy to use. Thanks for some of the reviews by others and an added supplement by Fluke, the centigrade - fahrenheit switch location was made easy to find. I've used it on mobile A/C and heating systems and am very satisfied with it's performance and plan to use it on other systems.

I decided to purchase a good IR thermometer instead of cheep Chinese junk that you can get at big box stores for $30. Works very well with no issues. Comes with nice case and thermocouple as well.

Purchased this item specifically for its non contact measuring ability to + or - 1 degree C. It does that very well. What disappointed me is that the ability to switch from degrees F to C is not properly documented in the instructions. I had to call Fluke's technical support line to find out that there's a hidden switch for that inside the battery housing. No mention of that in the manual and I wasted a fair amount of time trying to make the switch with firmware/instructions that weren't applicable to this unit. The second disappointment was that the unit was not calibrated within its manufacturing specifications when we received it; initial testing found it to be 3 to 4 degrees inaccurate! I did not like having to send it back to Fluke and spending $117 to have it calibrated to specification. Other than that it is an excellent item for the intended job.
