It is very light. Works great. **Q: Can you cut these for shorter length** A: Yes, you can cut them to any length, just make sure you melt (with candle or similar) the fresh cut end so it won't unravel and can still be fed through the buckle easily. **Q: What material is the latch mechanism?** A: The cam buckle is made by meal alloy,coating does not keep it from rusting although it helps. The latches seem to be substantial enough for the price. Anything heavy or holding down at high speeds needs ratcheting. **Q: will these tie downs work to hold a mobility scooter in place on its carrier?** A: Yes. Straps are quite strong and they are quite easy to tighten.
