Milwaukee 2420-20 M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion HACKZALL Cordless Reciprocating Saw (Tool-Only)

Needed this to work on soffits at the top of a ladder. Corded two handed Sawzall was too much risk and weight. This worked very well. It has more hand vibration than a full sized saw due to the weight. But the lack of a cord and the one handed operation are really handy. As is the small size in some locations. The short 1/2 inch stroke means that you may have to practice some sawing motions to help clear sawdust from thicker wood. Made fast work of PVC pipe in a remote location. Battery life is ok for short tasks. For all day stuff I would try to use a normal ac powered saw. Good addition to the tool box from a reputable company and at a good price. You need to already have another Milwaukee tool with identical batteries as this tool was sold in this listing without battery or charger.

Does what you it to. Not too heavy and a good value great addition to our Garden tools. Cut through branches nicely.

I needed a compact saw - I have a leaking water pipe and need to cut the existing pipe to repair. I needed something that would get into a very tight space. I have a Milwaukee 3/8" electric ratchet complete with batteries and charger, so I wanted just the Hackzall tool. This really fit the bill. The battery seems to last quite a long time and the tool has quite a bit of power. I also had to cut a 2x4 to get into the area - it went through quite well. This doesn't perform like my full size 110V Sawzall, but then again, I'd be shocked it it did. It came with 2 blades, one for wood and the other for metal. Each blade is 3" long. Perfect.

The price more than fair it's light weight but powerful and performed well in difficult positions and places

I didn't realized this tool would be so useful for me. I had a full sized reciprocating saw but after using this single hand weld version, I found it so much more convenient. This is great for small jobs or for working around tight areas. I love the Milwaukee M12 line of portable tools. As a DIYer, these tools are convenient and get the job done.My only negative remark is that this product didn't come in its original packaging. It came in a sealed gray bag, it looked new and felt new, but I think this should've been stated in the item description. I have no problem with "Open Box" items as I've purchased them previously, with certain expectations. based on the price. This should've been labeled as an Open Box item or noted it would not come with the original packaging. This makes wonder whether these are "imperfect" or refurbished items. That being said mine worked as expected and looked new.

Great tool

This is my favorite version of a sawzall. The size and power are perfect for any project I would have at home. I have also used this exact model for work and had great success. I highly recommend this over the heavy duty 18v unless you plan on doing some serious cutting.
