For anyone not familiar, all gold Japanese forest grass is very slow growing. If you have an ideal spot for it away from the sun to where it's diffused like underneath a tree or something with slight cover, you can set up there and it'll grow like normal overtime but if you're using it to pot and bring it inside the house three months barely even had any new growth on the leaves. The item when it was shipped to me was shipped in a baby phase stage so it barely had any growing leaves on top of it so what you see on the ground in the main Amazon image is not what you get. You'll probably get 1/5th of that. Mine wasn't even bushy either.I still kept it and took care of it, but I barely had any growth months later except for maybe a few leaves. Everything else was slowly dying off because of the slow growth, when it goes to the dying and growing stage, which is common for plants. The growth phase crawls to a stand still. This is probably better to put inside of a garden that meets the requirements where you can just put it on the ground and leave it alone.

Received live plant, not just roots

I ordered 2 of these. They arrived very well packaged and in beautiful condition. I was very pleasantly impressed by the size and healthy state of these plants. They now seem to be thriving in the garden.

Despite watering (not over-watering) this plant died within a couple weeks for no apparent reason. This was planted adjacent to other very healthy forest grass clumps and should have thrived just as the others do.

Just what I expected

I liked the box and packing material it was shipped in, kept it well preserved and upright. Plant is very healthy. Costs more than local for it's size, and a different variety than I expected (check well before ordering), but I still give it 5 stars for how vibrant it looks in my garden

The description said “Plant is fully rooted in the pot for immediate planting” in the #1 size pot. When I removed the planter, all the soil fell off except the the very healthy root plug as shown in the picture. There were no roots in the surrounding soil. It has been planted for three days as of this review and appears to be healthy. I look forward to it filling out and maturing.
