I have two hacker cats. I probably purchased 10 different automatic dispensers they defeated before this glorious contraption in 2014. It's now 2022, and we've been using it ever since.I barely clean it. It needed one replacement part in 2019, which the manufacturer was incredibly helpful in troubleshooting and helping me buy. We've even moved it and changed food types several times with no issues.All I have to do is plug it into a timer (like one you can use for your lights on vacation or a smart outlet), program said timer to however many feedings per day/week I want, turn some screws to set the amount of food that comes out and adjust for the kibble size, anchor it to the wall so my crafty cats won't knock it over, and VOILA!This thing works consistently and for weeks without a refill. The cats don't wake me up or beg for food, we go on vacation... It's glorious.If you're on the fence about this product, do yourself a favor and buy it! It's worth every penny. I'd buy another in a heartbeat if something happened to mine.

Cat's can't get into it...until they knock it over. At that point the neck cannot support the weight of the bigger, heavier hopper and the neck pops off of the dispensing unit (to it's credit, the plastic bends NOT breaks). Free food for all! Now I am looking at ways of better securing the neck/hopper. In hindsight, I would rather have bought a significantly cheaper drop feeder and built whatever extra protection it needed...... Now I have a very expensive feeder that needs the same work. Pointless.

Works great for feeding the cats on schedule - kind of difficult to get the adjustment for correct amount of food to come out each time.
