Excellent 4K dash cam with outstanding image quality and useful features
I’ve been very impressed with the Nextbase 622GW. The 4K UHD footage is excellent, with a level of detail that makes number plates, road signs and important moments much clearer than many other dash cams I’ve used. The image stabilisation also makes recordings smoother, especially on rough roads. The 140° wide-angle lens gives a great view of the road without excessive distortion, and the low-light performance is particularly good for night driving. The Super Slow Motion feature is a useful addition for reviewing incidents in detail. Setup was straightforward, and the built-in GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi make transferring clips and checking journey information simple. The what3words location feature is a clever safety addition, as it can help provide an exact location if assistance is ever needed. The build quality feels premium, and the touchscreen is responsive and easy to navigate. It is not the cheapest dash cam available, but the quality of the recordings, reliability and range of features make it worth the investment. Overall, a superb dash cam that provides peace of mind and delivers professional-quality footage. Highly recommended for anyone looking for one of the best options available.

Excellent camera and great customer service
As part of my personal security, I was advised to get a dash cam by police. After finding this well-reviewed product online, I purchased it here from seller iZilla via Amazon. After initially struggling to get the camera to power up (my 12v socket fuse had blown in my car) I thought the power cable was faulty. I contacted the seller iZilla and they kindly sent me a new cable, at no extra cost at all. I got it the very next day. Although it turned out not to be the problem, I was blown away by their wonderful customer service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The camera is fantastic and really easy to set up. The apps work with it really well too - I feel a lot safer now due to this fantastic product and support from iZilla.

Very very good quality, BUT ....
------------------------------ Original review:- ------------------------------ I'm giving this camera 8 out of 10 as it's build quality is excellent, it has a great clear touch screen the audio is ok and (in my case) pairing the Alexa app on my phone and my car radio (via Bluetooth) makes it quite useful as I can find out if there are any problems on the roads I will be traveling on, also another good feature is the 'What3Words' app for pinpointing your location, I know this might be a gimmick to sell the product but for me I do use it as I do a lot of Walking/hiking and if I park somewhere I haven't been before one click and I can find that place again to within 3 meters. The only thing I'm NOT happy about is, it doesn't matter what resolution I set the camera to, it doesn't show number plates at night unless your directly behind the vehicle, if your on a motorway any vehicle either side of you (if you was in the middle lane) is not legible, this maybe down to my settings as I'm still playing around with things, if I get it sorted I'll update this review. All in all I'm very happy with it. ------------------------------ Update:- ------------------------------ The spec sheet says 1080p@120 fps, this was NOT possible with the camera I purchased, not a big deal but if you're told it can do something that it can't then it's a false claim, I sent it back after about 5-6 weeks as the screen kept freezing randomly for no apparant reason, this happened about 8 times while I had it and you don't really notice when it happens as obviously you're watching the road not the camera, I had to remove the power cable and let the battery run flat as that was the only way of turning it off (pressing the button or the screen did nothing), I did notice a reset button when packing it up for return but I don't know if that would have turned it off & on again or reset all the settings back to default even so the button is that small and discrete you would need something like a paperclip to press it so not practical or safe to do whilst driving. The quality of the image and sound are second to non but as other reviewers have mentioned the camera freezes and I just thought it maybe a bad batch so took the risk, for now I'm dash camless but if they fix the problem I maybe persuaded to give it another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------

Superb picture quality, lots of options, and easy to mount
The picture quality is really good with lots of presets. I've opted for 1440p at 60fps, as this is a good balance between a crisp image and being able to extract detail from moving objects (e.g. number plates). I had a dash cam before which was only 30fps and sometimes number plates were difficult to extract because of the speed of the vehicle passing (it blurred it), so 60fps will resolve that issue. It will not allow camera stabilisation at this resolution though, so I am guessing that feature is only available at 1080p. (I'd consider that to be slightly misleading advertising, but I am not too concerned about it.) Installation was easy using the included cigarette lighter socket adapter. It does take up the socket though, so you can't use it for anything else (no problem for me as I don't smoke and I have other USB charging ports in the car). The magnetic mount is really strong, so much so that I was initially hesitant to put the required force on it to remove the camera, but it will come off. I also found that putting the camera on at a slight angle, so that the metal contacts in the mount and camera touch first, was required for a good mounting. (Taking it off was then the reverse of this.) All in all, a good camera.

Worst Dashcam I have ever owned - Nextbase 622GW
The simplest thing I could say in a review for this Nextbase 622GW dashcam is: - DO NOT BUY THIS DASHCAM! I have had a number of dashcams in the past and they all have their issues in one form or another but this one is by far the worst I have experienced. After making the decision to replace the £100 front and rear dashcam I had when it started to fail after 4 years near constant use, parking mode and all, I looked through many and opted for the Nextbase 622GW. The lower models in the range all have great reviews so I thought I'd get the best one they have with all the bells and whistles, SOS, What Three Words, 4K, rear view addon etc. My first expensive mistake. I also purchased the additional rear view addon which I thought was a great additional feature as you simply plug in the module to the dashcam with no extra wiring and away you go. Second expensive mistake. Also purchased a 128G micro SD card for £30, initially not the Nextbase SD card but a good unit nonetheless. Third not so expensive mistake so went for the fourth expensive mistake after the dashcam was installed, worked for a short while then started freezing randomly, investigation stated the dashcam needed to be used with Nextbase micro-SD card, a crock but wasted £70 buying their card. That as the fourth waste of money on this dashcam. So, we're now nearly £400 down with a device that about as reliable as a chocolate fireguard! No use at all in my opinion. Customer services are no use either as they just keep harping on about need to get their micro-SD card even after I got their card, and there never seems to be any software updates for the unit in the hopes of fixing it so it is now chucked in my expensive waste of money junk drawer to live or die, don't care, forever. Oh, Video quality is pretty good at highest settings which I tried when I first installed the unit but opted for lower settings to make it record for longer and it does get very hot ALL the time. Hope this is useful to someone and prevents them from wasting their hard earned cash. :)

Great 4K Camera
Works as expected and seems to have a good battery installed as against the poor one that was fitted to my existing DOD LS430W camera. Only niggle is that when it switches to the large speed display [after a user selected timeout] it keeps intermittently switching back to camera view as I'm driving along. Could this be because it is detecting vehicle voltage variations on my Toyota Prius? I know that the display always changes back to camera view when the ignition is switched off, so perhaps the firmware is too sensitive?

Better Dashcams Available
I bought the Nextbase 622GW to replace a Nextbase 222X which I wasn’t satisfied with. Overall, when the basic functions are used as a basic dashcam, it’s not bad, but the advanced features are complicated and don’t seem to work well. The “Alexa” function only works when the camera is connected to your phone, and you already have the Alexa app open. The app has to be open and on the screen, unlocked, or it doesn’t work. The video quality is much better than the other Nextbase camera I had, however it’s still nowhere near “GoPro quality” if that’s what you’re looking for. Minimal instructions are provided with the camera. Basic functions are easy to figure out, but it took me weeks to figure out that the cameras Location function, speed display, and “what3words” only work when the camera is connected to your phone. The speed measuring function is also highly inaccurate, it’s better to turn it off and avoid incriminating yourself. The mount also moves when going over potholes, I have to readjust the position of the camera every time I go over a pothole. It’s extremely annoying. Overall, for the price, it’s not a very good camera, but it does the basic job and that’s all I need it for.

Erste Klasse, super Kamera

Good buy
I had a 522GW which I used almost 3 years then decided to switch to 622GW and it’s way too faster than 522GW.

Works well, app is very buggy. The camera and the video is perfect.
I have learned the hard way that drivers, including myself, are very reckless, and inconsiderate to other drivers. Unfortunately I have had four car accidents over the past 6 years, all low speed, non-injury, and I was able to drive off without having the vehicle towed. The worst part; the other drivers, who I believe were at fault, will lie like rugs in order to prevent being punished by their insurance company, and/or try to get my insurance company to pay for the damage to their vehicles by laying the blame solely on me and my vehicle. The first car accident I was recompensed and my vehicle was repaired, that was apparently a fluke, and since then the other drivers lied, did not respond, or their insurance companies flat out denied my claim. I was asked by one of the insurance adjusters if I had video of the accident, and once he explained that some vehicles have built in cameras. Fast forward several years, I opted to buy the earlier model of this nextbase camera, it was (just like this model) very easy to install, the value for the money was pretty decent, and the overall video quality was great. Now, granted the wifi connectivity and the app leaves much to be desired, but with a little perseverance, you can and will connect and be able to upload/download to the camera. The forward facing camera helps with a 130 degree span, ensuring everything is captured that possibly can be seen from the front driver and passenger's seat. I opted to get the wired rear-facing camera, this was integral in one of the accidents, as the other driver stated that I pulled out in front of him and he rear-ended me because he couldn't stop. That statement was quickly nullified when the rear facing video showed that I had pulled on to the street when the other driver was well over a city block. Ultimately I am a big believer in this device, I haven't had any failures, freezing up, turning off nor not turning on. I also purchased the hard wire install kit, and as such, the camera turns on when the key is turner to accessory, and turns off when I turn the car off. The only complaint I have with this camera is the app, and spotty wifi connection.
