Edward's Menagerie: Over 40 soft and snuggly toy animal crochet patterns Review: Adorable Patterns & Easy to Follow – Perfect for All Levels! - This book is absolutely lovely! The animal patterns are so cute and well-designed, and the instructions are super easy to follow—even if you're just starting out. I've already made at least 10 animals and each one has been a joy to create. One of the things I love most is how the book is organized by skill level. It gently guides you from beginner-friendly designs to more advanced ones, so whether you're a total beginner or more experienced, there's something for you. I also really appreciated that it shows you how to make the same animal in different sizes—that flexibility is such a thoughtful detail and makes the book even more fun to use. Highly recommend for anyone who loves crafting adorable animals and wants a clear, inspiring guide to follow! Review: Fun book of beautiful projects! - I love this book! Such whimsical animals! Easy to follow instructions that are very well thought out. Most of the stitches are a single crochet which is a half double crochet in the UK. Very easy to translate. Most of the animals have a standard body so general instructions are provided. Specific instructions are provided separately. I didn't find it difficult to flip to different sections of the book. The animals are easy to make. Photos are beautiful and there are lots of hints. These little animals make great baby gifts. Though the suggested yard is alpaca, I substituted some acrylic blend from Michael's which worked just fine. Really, you can use any yarn and the appropriate size hook. The size may change somewhat but will still work just fine! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #498,879 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #15 in Toy Making #31 in Stuffed Animal Crafts #146 in Crocheting (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (3,632) | | Dimensions | 8.25 x 0.44 x 10.75 inches | | Edition | Illustrated | | ISBN-10 | 1446304787 | | ISBN-13 | 978-1446304785 | | Item Weight | 2.31 pounds | | Language | English | | Print length | 128 pages | | Publication date | July 25, 2014 | | Publisher | David & Charles | ## Images ![Edward's Menagerie: Over 40 soft and snuggly toy animal crochet patterns - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/713yH2nMRGL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Adorable Patterns & Easy to Follow – Perfect for All Levels! *by V***Z on May 8, 2025* This book is absolutely lovely! The book is written in British terms, so those who follow the US terms will need to adjust their brains around the stitches. I have a page of conversion terms that I have put together to remind me - so I just sit that to the side and refer back to it when I have to change stitches. I've done this for years and find it helpful. Apart from the issue with terms, I don't see that the patterns are very difficult. I believe that a fairly beginner crocheter should be able to stitch these without problem. I would not try this as a first project but perhaps after you have made a scarf or two and perhaps a hat. That will give you experience with straight stitching and rounds. There are some standardized pieces in the collection that are fairly easy to master and from that point on, it is fairly simple to make a whole houseful of animals. I am enjoying crocheting these for grandchildren and for me, too. I am also looking forward to Kerry Lord's book on crochet birds which is coming out this fall. ## Frequently Bought Together - Edward's Menagerie: Over 40 soft and snuggly toy animal crochet patterns - Crochet Cute Critters: 26 Easy Amigurumi Patterns - Mama Made Minis Knotted Loveys: 16 Heirloom Amigurumi Crochet Patterns --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/2244022-edwards-menagerie-over-40-soft-and-snuggly-toy-animal-crochet](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/2244022-edwards-menagerie-over-40-soft-and-snuggly-toy-animal-crochet) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
