Awesome set. The cars are REALLY tough and REALLY fast. Setting 3 max on the controller for sure. Plenty of track to setup multiple layouts (and easy to expand as well). This is a great set to start out at a great price. Whether you are flat out racing or just tootling around, be prepared to get pulled into the fun! It will fit on a 4x8 sheet of plywood with room to expand or just put it on the floor where you can take it up and change the layout. There are hundreds of cars and accessories you can get for this well known brand of slot cars so you're not blowing your cash on something that is going to be junk in a month. This track is a lot of fun, esp for first timers. Bought it for Christmas 2020 for my 8 & 6 yr old sons. They love it. The track has a relatively small layout with wider lanes but it's incredibly easy to assemble. The cars are a bit larger, heavier & more durable than most slot car tracks. Both controls are easily calibrated for faster or slower max speeds - the faster the setting, the more skill it takes to keep the car from flying off the track but, when they do, they don't get destroyed in the process. Plugs into the wall so no batteries needed. All of this is why this track is a great starter track. Yes, the little brush/braids underneath the cars wear out (depending on how much they're used) but replacements are cheap & super easy to install. My kids quickly break pretty much every toy but we're a month into 2021 now with tons of use & this thing still works great. Highly recommended for the younger kids.

Installed, build and pre-tested this gift to my grandson. It works great, easy and cars stays on track even at full speed due to the magnets on the bottom of the vehicles. Great job, he is only 7 but I know he will love this setup.

My son and I really love playing with this set. However, one of the controllers broke almost immediately and the cars are a challenge to keep in the track.

Overall, I am happy with this slot car racing track set. The recommended age for this toy is 8+ but my boys are 5 and 7 and are able to enjoy themselves. It was also bigger than I thought it would be (as seen in a picture I've included, one car is about the size of my hand). I have listed the pros and cons I've discovered with this toy below; Pros - There are speed settings on the remote, ranging from one to four. Four is the fastest and one is the slowest. Number three is the fastest setting you can have without the slot cars coming off the track. A wonderful feature for any children that just want to make their cars "race" without calculating speed versus turns. - The track pieces are very easy to assemble and the instructions come with suggestions for varying track designs with the pieces included. There are two metal pieces that attach and then three plastic pieces to "snap" the track in place. It holds well, even on carpet. - Assembly is simple and packaging is frustration free. Once the track is in place; the cars can be placed and the power source and two remotes can be plugged in. Then the toy is ready to be used. - The cars are lightweight enough that on speed three, they race around quickly but do not jump off their track. On speed four, they crash dramatically so that it's possible to derail your opponent while also crashing. It adds to the competitive and traditional fun of this toy. Cons - One of the remotes did not work properly when on speeds lower than the top speed (four). It would race a bit and then the car would stop and be unable to start again for a while. I had to open the remote with a small philips head screwdriver and slightly bend the metal strip connected to the trigger to have fuller contact with the other metal piece. Then I reassembled the remote and it worked properly.

You cannot get a better track than this one. The cars are super fast and the speed adjustment makes it easy for the little ones to enjoy without the cars flying off every lap. I am ordering more track as well!
