NICE LOOKING / COUNTER SPACE SAVER / HOT CUP OF COFFEE
I bought this over a similar Keurig because it is a machine that takes up less counter space. As opposed to my old Brewville, there are no real bells and whistles just the power and one of three cup sizes. I mad a cup and the coffee is good and hot It is fast and very quiet. I like the rear mounted reservoir which helps keep the width about 2 - 3" narrower than the equivalent Keurig. Like ALL machines with hot water on demand (no wait brewing) turn off when done. Leaving the machine on will keep water hot when you want it but will accelerate calcification. My expensive Brewville went into the dumpster because of this and it was no longer supported. So my advise is every 2 weeks, do a white vinegar flush and keep it off unless you are ready to use.2 Years Later: Still working as it did when it was new. However, during the past 2 years I noticed a few little issues. Occasionally (not very often), the coffee maker would lock up and nothing works. It has to be allowed to site with the unit unplugged for about 1/2 hour to allow it to reset. The tank could be a bit larger since after brewing two cups, the reservoir is empty. It does not brew as fast as my previous brewer. It could use one more size option aside from 7,10 & 12 oz. Otherwise if you are not a heavy duty user, this is ideal. If you entertain, get this coffee makers bigger brother.3 years later, still going strong. I use various brands of K Cups and never had one that wouldn't brew in this machine. (6?29/2020)

This is a great compact single serve coffee maker !
I am loving this coffee maker, the size is perfect for me. This is the 3rd single serve coffee maker I have bought, one was too big and I ended giving it away, bought a smaller one but I didn’t like it because each time I had to add water and it took up more space than this one. I like that it holds enough water without being so bulky. The coffee turns out great and I am the person who always had whole beans and would grind them myself , now I am liking having an assortment of coffee pods with a very fast cup of coffee. So glad I decided to buy this was, I was a little reluctant after reading a review it leaked, I have not had any leaking with this coffee maker, everything about it has been perfect .

Junk, try something else.
I have other Cuisinart brand appliances, e.g. , a coffee grinder and a bread machine that work well and that is one reason I decided to try this coffee maker. I saw negative reviews and foolishly ignored them thinking those folks just had bad luck and I could probably repair any issue I came across after purchase. Well, I was wrong. THIS THING IS JUNK. First, the amount of water used is too much causing many overflows and spills depending on which size coffee cup used. Worst flaw is that on some pods (they are not all made the same) the top of the disposable pod would split or burst near the end of the brewing cycle and result in grounds in the coffee at best and grounds and liquid coffee spilled all over the counter top and inside the machine at worst. The unit is not made for easy cleaning either. If I just used it to make hot water for tea (in an extra large cup) and didn't mind having to refill the tank every other cup I guess it would be okay. If you want a K-cup/pod coffee maker try something else. I almost never throw anything away but after trying several times to figure out how to work around its problems I've given up on this thing and it's going in the trash. I'll also be reluctant to buy another 'Cuisinart' appliance ever again because my experience with this one.Good luck!

Great Purchase!
I bought one many years ago & loved it. Something happened to the plug so wanted to replace it. Was so happy I could purchase the exact same coffee maker. It doesn’t take up too much space on counter and works so so well. I love it!

Water Tanks Leaking (updated)
See update at end.I've had this coffee maker (SS-5P1) for about a little over a month. I was very happy with it, although the water tank seems a bit small. Anyway, when I moved it to give it a good cleaning, I noticed the towel is was seating on was soaking wet. Once I removed the coffee maker and the towel I saw that the area was terrible wet and stained black (See picture). After close examination I discover that the seam between the water tank and coffee maker itself was very slowly leaking (See picture). I guess it has been leaky from day one.I have registered a request from Cuisinart Customer Support for a new coffee maker or my money.. Will see what comes of it. If they response positively, I'll add to my review and adjust the score.I called their support number and got a very helpful and agreeable support rep. He understood my problem and immediately offer to replace the leaky water tank. If this fixes the problem, I will up the rating to 5 stars.
