BuzzWord Embroidery Lettering and Layout Software

This is a simply amazing piece of software. My wife was a user of BES Embroidery Lettering, and as a result of a computer upgrade we lost the use of that license registration. It has been over a month and we're still waiting to hear back from Brother customer service about that. Since she had projects to finish and not much time to waste, I downloaded evaluation copies of Buzz Words, and Letter It! to see if either of them would meet her needs.My wife has been using BES Embroidery Lettering for a few years, and has always generally disliked it. She always managed to get things done, but it always took more effort than she wanted to invest. BES would do what she wanted grudgingly. The first replacement program she evaluated was Letter It, and she had similar feelings about that program. It was something that would do what she wanted, but it was a continuous struggle to get it the way she wanted it to be.In contrast, Buzz Word is very simple and intuitive. I downloaded the 21-day free evaluation copy, and I was able to set up a sample of embroidered text within just a few minutes. My wife sat down with it and created a block of text she wanted in about fifteen minutes on her first try. I heard her mumbling something under her breath as she walked to her machine: "This can't possibly work... I'll bet my machine won't read it." She thought it was too easy. But that sample worked perfectly, produced beautiful output, and on the first try.After two more lettering projects I asked if she wanted me to register Letter It so she could try the output on her machine. (The Letter It evaluation version won't produce machine output files, you need to buy it to produce output.) She told me not to bother, and to get it off her machine. And to take off BES Lettering while I was at it. She was sold on Buzz Words after trying it just those couple of times. She didn't want to look at anything else, and we bought the Buzz Words license.A few observations:1 - The user interface of Buzz Words looks like an older Windows program. Don't let that fool you! It's one of the most powerful and flexible systems I've ever seen. The ease-of-use alone is enough reason to buy this program. Try to use the text following a user defined curve, it's actually fun!2 - The 30 free included fonts don't look very nice in the font sample sheets... This is also deceiving. The fonts are very high quality, and look great in both the 3D view, and when they're embroidered. What they don't tell you clearly is that you can adjust the size, slant, character bold-ness, and aspect ratio of the characters within each piece of text in the project. The 30 included fonts are the equivalent of having hundreds of less flexible fonts.3 - I also bought the extra add-on TrueType font pack because we already had hundreds of TrueType fonts on our system. TrueType fonts can be manipulated the same way that the 30 included fonts allow. (size, boldness, slant, aspect ratio...) Overall, our font choices are just about endless now. (And BuzzTools sometimes has downloadable free TrueType fonts.)Overall, I can't say enough good things about this program. It's simple to use, doesn't cost a fortune, and it gets the job done. I wish all of my software experiences were this good... Mine is installed on Windows 7, and my wife has it installed on her office computer and the one by her embroidery machine. I've got no complaints, this was a great purchase.

This software does exactly what it says it will do. I am very new to sewing muchless Embroidery and was able to produce, above the pocket, company logos and names. This software is well worth the price. Very informative and easy to grasp the concept of producing quality work. People, I am a guy so if I can understand how to get the product done and produce it I can't imagine someone with sewing experience using the same program.

This is the first embroidery software I purchased for my embroidery and I am glad I purchased this one. I love how you can add all your fonts to the list of font and the mapping of these fonts is very easy. I was so happy with this software I purchased of Buzz Tools software. Good solid software, very user friendly and good price. I would recommend this to other embroidery design lovers.

A SUPER addition to the embroidery library. A less expensive option than buying those thousand dollar sets at the sewign machine store! If all you do with your machine is the occassional design and lettering project, then this is a great set up. It allows you to import your artwork (which can be found free on sites around the internet) and add lettering from many different common fonts. It is easy to install. Easy to load and run.

This is a wonderful product for the price. I used it in conjunction with Sew Art and I made a great company logo. There is the option to bring in the See Art graphic and do the lettering around it. It may be a little more cumbersome to use than the $1000 version, but after even trying some of the used older software versions with the key of those expensive ones, I'm glad I saved my money and bought Buzzword.

I tried to use the 'free' programs out there and as a novice, I wasted hours trying to figure them out. I purchased three of the Buzz products and love them all. After taking several months to decide ( due to price), I am very glad I purchased them. They were easy to use instantly.

As always Buzz Tools is a great product. Love that you can try before buying. Tried another program with free trial-great-it let me do in the computer but could not download so I could try the design in the machine. What good is that? Buzz Tools free trial let me do the complete editing of my designs and then sew them out to see how good it worked. And it works GREAT. Spent a little more and got a lot more.
