Absolutely amazing 1 person tent
I own a lot of tents. None of them are quite like this one. This may be the most unique tent I have ever had. It has a vintage look but new space age sleek feel to it.It sets up so fast. Packs down small. Weighs nothing. Is modular. Extremely nice for any hikes with rain in the forecast because you can set up the fly first and then the inner. Or just pack it up together and set it up as one. Its very modular. The fly is a amazing shelter on its own in non buggy areas and seasons. The material is really amazing. Most of my tents are Either silnyon or Cuben fiber. This material is so much better. It does not have the fragile feeling of Dyneem and it does not take in water like silnylon. Water just beads off the fly . It does not soak in or through. It does not get wet. If it does have any drops on it you can just shake it off and it is dry in a few minutes on a breezy day. The shape is rather confusing to the eyes. A rectangular footprint with a offset trapezoid shape. No matter how you view this tent from the outside it always looks crooked. But its not. It is deceiving in its shape. The Interior of the fly is huge. The mesh inner is small. It is long but narrow. It fits a Xtherm large mat (77x25) but with very little room to spare because of its shape. The higher you pull the inner mesh for head height, The smaller your inner width gets. The inner fits in on a diagonal so your gear can fit at one side of your head and one side of your feet. Without the inner you can make this into a 2 person shelter. With the inner it is a 1 person shelter with a hotels worth of room for gear. That for the most part stays dry and safe.I prefer using a ground sheet on my tents just to protect my investments. I find that bit of extra protection can really help you from getting holes in your floor and expensive air matt. This does not come with one so I just threw down a cheap tarp until I get some Tyvek from my construction friend. It did the job.I have used it in heavy rain and stayed dry. The tent held up to the high wind as well. Pitching is easy and fast. Taking it down is easy. The zippers are very smooth and surprisingly water tight. Probably some of the sturdiest nicest zippers I have had the pleasure to use on any tent. No snags or jams. They just work in rain or heat. The vents are nice and do their job. I did have one night with some condensation inside but none dripped on me. On the east coast during 100% humidity nights with rain, every tent I own gets condensation. So it was expected. It handled it well though. The fly is steep and no drips landed on me or my gear. The tent is bright. The moon is enough to light it up a bit. Which is rather strange. But I can get used to it. I am 6 foot 3 and my feet and head barely touch the mesh. Which is neat because most tents I am eating mesh and getting my feet tangled in it. I don't have that problem with this tent . The length was actually part of the reason this tent caught my eye. It is extremely hard to find a affordable light weight tent for tall people. The Xmid1 delivers for tall people.. You can attach the mesh to the outer fly door ties for extra width. That is a nice feature. It is awfully tight though. This is a shelter to sleep in. You will be cramped in it if your just loafing around escaping rain. But you will be dry at least. Cramped but dry.It is a very good tent. Very well built. Very well thought out . You can tell a hiker built this tent and put a lot of thought into it. Dan Durston really went the extra mile with this. It is nice to support a fellow Canadian in these strange times. The price was right and the tent gives my more expensive ones a run for their money in weight and performance as well as set up ease. . That is pretty awesome.I love this tent and look forward lots more adventures with it. So far I have slept in it 13 nights . Some cold. Some damp and wet. Some hot and humid. If you have the chance and see this tent in stock. Go for it! It rocks!

Near perfect
Have just around 15 nights under my belt in this tent now. Super lightweight, easy set up, robust, huge vestibules. Literally only downside is the inner fly is narrow. Not even too narrow, just more narrow than maybe would be ideal, which I understand has been addressed in the second version of this tent.

Excellent but needs an extra foot Print 5 stars
I was looking for this tent for a while until I found it on Amazon Australia. It is one of the lightest on the market. I did the test of the same this weekend at the Lederberg Gorge State Park. After adding an additional footprint, the store is set up in less than 2 minutes, per clock! While the other members of the excursion were still assembling structures, I was already lying inside. The additional Foot Print is extremely necessary since, after a heavy rain like the ones we had, the equipment would have gotten wet from the amount of water that circulated around the tent. The store withstood the amount of rain very well. Inside, although it looks small, it is spacious, although you have to be careful at night not to trip the poles with a sudden movement and knock down the tent, but it is a matter of getting used to after coming from larger stores. Certainly carrying 2 kilos less weight in the backpack helps on difficult or long trails. As for the temperature, it is a 3-season store, although we had a very cold night with a thermal sensation of -1c, it behaved at the height. In conclusion 5/5, if you add a footprint of more or less 200gr of weight.

Goldilocks of tents, super light and durable
This is the goldilocks of tents. Super lightweight, but also durable (stood up to dozens of nights on the Canadian Shield) and well engineered. The fly sits really far back from the mesh inner, so 1) the vestibules are HUGE and 2) it feels so roomy even though it’s a true 1p. Its price point makes you wonder “what’s the catch,” but seriously there is no catch. It’s a fabulous tent, and even backpacking beginner friendly. Although it’s a trekking pole tent and not free standing (meaning it does NOT come with tent poles and you need to use your own trekking poles/the guy lines and Stakes that come with the tent/tension set it up) it’s really easy to set up. as long as you can figure out how to make a tight rectangle you’ll be good to go!If could give this tent 20 stars I would

Super Easy to Pitch
I recently tried this tent on a small section on the Bibbulum Track in readiness to take it out on the Larapinta. It does exactly what it says it does - it's super easy to pitch as long as you leave the inner clipped to the fly and make a perfect rectangle (very important), also important is to tension the hiking poles to make them as high as possible. I haven't seen how the tent performs yet in severe wind or rain but it certainly looks sturdy enough and the materials seem first class so I have faith it will stand up to whatever Australian weather can throw at it.
