We bought the Mega Cyborg Hand for our 7 year old, and it has been such a fun and engaging project for our whole family. Building it together has been a great experience, though I would say a 7 year old definitely needs adult help and guidance for some of the steps. There are certain parts where an adult is required, but that actually made it a really enjoyable hands-on project to work on together. Our 10 year old also loves fiddling with it, which shows how well it spans multiple age ranges. The instructions are very clear and thoughtfully laid out, making the build feel much less intimidating. I especially loved that some pages in the manual include fun comic style stories and interesting facts about the physics behind how the mechanics work, it’s a great educational touch! We have absolutely loved this purchase for the value and are excited to finish building it and start using the hand. Highly recommend for families looking for a meaningful STEM project to do together. Age range: 7+

Excellent kit. It is really a 10+. It took 3-4 hours for a 14 year old and he needed sone help. So, if you are considering this as a gift for younger than 10, I recommend planning for a lot of help in building it. I wish the kit cane with a few spares for the cylinders and the piston seal. However, the manufacturer’s support was commendable. We had to request for 2 replacement parts and we received them in about a week with no additional questions asked. So, I definitely appreciate that. The kit itself is great for younger kids to learn about how hydraulic systems work and a great parent child quality time activity.

A little difficult for my 9 year old to put it together but he got it done and was super proud of himself. There are little pieces that ca easily break but it all came together and works great!

Purchased for my 15year old son who is used to building plastic models. The box was in perfect condition when I received it and all the packaging and instructions were also in perfect condition. My son took his time and built the hand in about 4 hrs. Hand works great and the more you practice with it the better you get. It has its limitations when it comes to gripping things, but overall is a fun project. Definitely recommend.

This kit is a fantastic combination of hands-on building and real learning. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and putting the hand together was both challenging and fun. It was exciting to see how the hydraulic system works using water — no motors or batteries needed! Watching the fingers move and grip objects after assembling it was incredibly satisfying.

This was awesome!! My kid needed something to keep himself busy this did the job. He’s 6 so did need more help but didn’t mind it. It turned out so great and could use it as a time to teach how hydraulics work. Great quality little large for his age but again. He’s younger than one might get it for. It is very complex and a little harder to screw the screws in but we loved the quality time.

Bought this twice - once as a gift for another kid and then again for my son's birthday. It is pretty cool and functional - not really easy to put together. My mechanically-inclined ten-year old was able to figure out most of it on his own, though some sections were a little confusing and it does take a bit of dexterity to get some of the pieces figured out. Instructions are mostly straightforward, but you do really need to ensure you read them correctly (mostly diagrams and numbers, not words). Overall a worthwhile gift - but plan on providing some not insignificant adult supervision to help build it. BTW beware not to accidentally throw away the hydraulic oil! It looks like a dessicant pack, but it is not, and you need it! Finally hand is capable of picking up things like cups of water, etc.

The product looks amazing with very very detailed instruction inside. However, the box was delivered without wrapping, no Amazon bag, no Amazon box. The box is damaged and does not look like a new one. The shipment sticker was put directly on the box with the product. This is a gift and it took me a while to remove the sticker. Consider another seller of this product.

Me parece un excelente producto. Dudé para comprarlo al leer algunos comentarios negativos, pero, ahora pienso que no es exacto lo que comentan. Por eso mi interés en compartir nuestra experiencia, a mi hijo le encantó de regalo de cumpleaños, a sus 11 años, prácticamente él y su hermano lo armaron solos. Sí, le compré unas tijeras como las recomendadas y una pequeña lija que fueron muy útiles; el desarmador de cruz ya lo teníamos en casa. Yo busqué un tutorial en YouTube, sin embargo, mi hijo prefirió seguir el instructivo impreso incluido, ambos fueron de mucha utilidad. El material es plástico de muy buena calidad, tiene excelentes acabados, todo está perfectamente marcado para no equivocar las piezas. Les tomó más de 4 horas ensamblarlo, los mantuvo interesados y activos. Fue muy intuitivo su uso y muy fácil de entenderlo. 100% recomendado.
