Made a huge difference with the flow of water down the rain chain! Before I had our rain chain connecting into the downspout (I think that’s what it’s called) and half of the water would miss the rain chain. Adding this adapter allowed all of the water to drain over the rain chain. Very beautiful!

Very happy with this purchase

For the rain chain my wife purchased at flea market, pretty easy to install, however the rain fall was more than we expected to have so it flushed through it fast. But overall it did hold the rain chain pretty good.

We used this in a new gutter cut with a 51mm (2-inch) hole saw. Fit is a little tight (I didn't have a 52mm saw), but the aluminum gutter deformed that tiny amount without problem and made a great seal. I didn't need the backer plate included as the hole was clean (if you had a previous downspout the hole would be ragged) and I didn't want the raised surface to trap debris. My wife is ecstatic about the rain chain and this was a critical part.

This downspout to rain chain converter installs really easily, just unscrew one end of the post, drop the main piece into the hole in your gutter, thread the post back through the holes (don't forget to thread your rain chain on if you need to!) and put the cap you removed back on the post. The whole thing is pleasantly heavy and appears to be solid copper and brass. Only downside is that the hole in my gutter is not centered in a way that allows the collar of the converter to sit perfectly flush, but since the point is for water to drip down, having some of it drip around the edges works fine for me.

Easy install - drill with a hole cutter and some caulk. Hangs well, looks great.
