Laguna Max-Flo 2900 Waterfall and Filter Pump
We had purchased a filter from a dealer - he convinced us to get a smaler pump on it to slow the flow of water so that the UV light could have more affect on the algae. We went with his opinion. Then we discovered that the smaller pump did not have the power to lift the water to the top of the falls. My daughter urged me to go on line. I was shocked to see that the prices were much lower than buying from the dealer we had frequented - and I could scrutinize many products right from the comfort of my home. The pump is fantastic - lifts the water with no problem - and I have seen absolutely no difference in the affectiveness of the UV light. My pond is crstal clear. I use a microbial algae killer when I first open the pond - it knocks the algae back - and the filter with the UV light and the Laguna Max-flo 2900 handle the upkeep. The pump is everything that printed on the web site. Would not hesitate to buy another one. It is efficient, powerful, the price was exellent and it was delivered to my door in a timely fashion. What more could anyone want?

Look no further for a pond pump
I bought this exact pump over 8 years ago and it has worked flawlessly. It has endured every season as well as several hours pumping with no water when a pipe broke and the pond was drained to a few inches. Only thing you’ll need to do is clean it a couple times a year and the plastic spring loaded screws make that easy.Don’t look any further if your buying for a backyard water garden or koi pond! You’re welcome.

Pump works great for what's needed.
Good price and reliable power behind this pump. Usually get about 5-6yrs life out of these pumps. Only reason i rated it so low, was that 3 of the spring screws that secure the cage around the pump are broken and were laying in the bottom of the box. Almost $300 for a pump and have to zip-tie the cage together because of the broken screws. Also, not a huge gripe for me, but in the pictures it shows 4 tips/connections coming with this, i only received two of them. Not a huge deal for me since i still have the old connections off the last pump i had in the pond.

A great small pond pump
A great small reliable pond pump as compared to Laguna Max's smaller mag type impeller drive pump. The 960's impeller design is similar to Laguna Max's larger pumps allowing for the handling of debris and other particles efficiently thus less likely to clog and stop your pump. This is very important reliability wise if your intended use is for filtration and aeration of your pond's water, especially if you have ornamental Koi or other types of pond fish. Besides the 960, I have a larger Laguna Max pump for a water fall into my pond. Beside the aesthetics the waterfall provides additional daytime and backup aeration to the 960. I've tried other pond pumps, but I find that Laguna Max pumps are the best and most important energy efficient pond pumps around. As for the price, you'll find that the price is limited on the low end for all Laguna Max authorized retailers. Very important the warranty is tied to authorized dealers only. So why buy from this Amazon dealer? The speed that you can get this pump or other pond pump's especially in an emergency when your main pump fails and of course Amazon's guarantee and return policy. Impressive pump, Connector Misinformation
The media could not be loaded. Been using Laguna pumps for over 18 years. I'm impressed with the fact that they can run 24/7 365 days a year. With that said, Laguna itself and this website provided miss information regarding the connectors that come with their pumps. Please watch the video as it will clear up a lot of misconceptions before ordering.

I like this pump, but my third one arrived damaged
I have been using Laguna pumps in my pond for about 20 years, and I've found them to be reliable. My second pump failed at the end of 2022, so I ordered a new one this week. It arrived damaged - one of the five retaining clips for the cover was broken and the cord was displaced, indicating that the pump had probably been packed badly in the first place. I was able to replace the cover with one from the previous pump.

Working great more than 6 years now.
Well designed and high quality. It has been driving a bio filter in our freshwater pond since 2017. We clean it every 6 months or so with a hose. Would def get another if this one ever stops working.

Always My Go-To
We have a decent-sized fish pond and these pumps are my go-to. Longevity? I have nothing to compare it to but we seem to replace our pumps frequently -- meaning about every 3 years (we have 3 pumps going between March and December and then one that runs all winter).. Depends on how rough the use is. Reliable and worth the money.

great reliable pump
This pump is the same that we had for 15 years or more. It's easy to clean and works with my 4000 litre pond and waterfall. Has lots of power and I disconnect the filter for the winter but leave the pump running through rain or snow. Very reliable.
