This is the best complete mix..Only add water..Sometimes I add half water and half butrermilk..This mix makes pancakes and waffles.

So, you bought a box of "Complete" pancake mix and the pancakes tasted like cardboard? Time to go back to adding your own milk, eggs, and oil. I've been using this mix for over 50 years and my kids so loved my pancakes that they are using now on their children. The secret is ingredients and HOW you put them together. I know this is just a review, but... if you're interested, here's how to do it.You need a large mixing bowl, a wire wisk, 3 microwave safe measuring cups (2 large 2-cup size, and 1-one cup size), a microwave, 2 extra large eggs, one stick of Fleishmann's margarine, and Lactaid 2% milk ( I'm bad with lactose and besides, Lactaid tastes just like regular whole milk). And don't even think about using almond milk or soy milk! Yuk!Break the 2 eggs into the bowl. Measure the correct amount of milk (1&1/2 cups) into a microwave safe measuring cup. Place the cup into the microwave and hit it for about 45 seconds. All you want to do is take the cold edge off the milk and bring it up to roughly room temperature. Pour it into the bowl and wisk the milk & eggs together.Take one stick of margarine and cut off enough slices to make 2 tablespoons (1/4 stick - 1/2 a stick (4 Tblsp) if you're using the buttermilk kind). Place the slices into a microwave safe cup, place the cup into the microwave, cover it with a paper towel (to catch any splatters) and hit it up for 20 to 30 seconds - just enough to melt the margarine. Set it aside.Take the other 2 cup measuring cup and fill it with 2 cups of pancake mix. But here's the secret to getting it right. As you pour in the mix, periodically stop, cover the cup with a paper towel, place your hand on top of the cup, grab the cup with that hand and bang it down onto the counter. This will compress the mix and get the air out. Keep doing this until you have filled and compressed 2 cups of mix.Pour the melted margarine into the bowl and immediately add the mix. Wisk everything together. The mix should end up fairly thick. Definitely not runny! That's why you pound down the mix to get the proportions right.The reason you warm up the milk is so the melted margarine doesn't curdle when you add it in.As for cooking them? All I can tell you is DON'T make your pan too hot. A little melted margarine in the pan for the first one usually helps. Once you see the edges start to dry up and the surface is full of bubbles popping, time to flip. That's it, except for the clean up. Happy breakfast. It's really not that complicated.

This mix in my opinion, tastes so much better than the other red box and Hungry... This one does not have a salty aftertaste and the pancakes come out fluffy or thin depending on your mixture. Although, the directions say to add water, I add evaporated milk to give it more flavor and sometimes a bit of vanilla. The pancakes taste great even without maple syrup.

This brand makes the best waffles and pancakes ever. I have used this brand for over 20 years. It must be the product that adds milk and eggs to the mixture ( not the just add water that is available in stores) I’m so glad that Amazon as made it available.

It’s the best pancake mix. Ever. Far better than the ones where you only add water. You can use this mix to also make waffles if you want. Those taste great too.You get 6 boxes of mix in one carton. Enough to last me a while.

We love this mix because the pancakes truly are light and fluffy. Your stomach doesn't feel so heavy after you've eaten them!

Trying to find this version of HJ pancake mix in the stores anymore has devolved to a "treasure hunt". Cannot find it anymore at Albertson's, Winn-Dixie or Wal-Mart. Amazon saved the day! Taste, texture and fluffiness with this mix is far superior to the "just add water" version, IMO.
