Concern 2, I wanted good pins to grip my shoes, but I didn't want to gouge my calves every time the pedals brush up against them. The pins on these are absolutely perfect! As for the looks, they are absolutely gorgeous!! The red pedals with the chrome pins looks so sharp - not that people see that when you're riding, but hey, it's the little things right? They're lighter than my expensive-ish nylon pedals on my Mukluk.
