Good microscope, but no instructions or case, and the software CD didn't work
This was bought was a Christmas present from my wife and I'm reviewing this on her account. It was the trinocular microscope with a digital camera in the third eye piece. On the plus side this is a lovely microscope, well engineered and nicely made. It has a good, heavy feel and is very well put together. The controls are fairly easy to figure out and when you have done so it's easy to use. I'm new to this, so it took a little while. But it's all working now and I'm really pleased with it. So...why only 3 stars? Firstly there were no set up instructions with the microscope. Nothing whatsoever. This may be an error by the distributor, but a leaflet explaining how to get started would have been useful to say the least. There was absolutely nothing included in the package. Secondly the software CD didn't work. I'm an IT professional, so I tried a few different techniques. But nothing. I concluded that this was a faulty disc. Fortunately the standard Win 10 operating system on my laptop supports this as a plug and play digital camera, so you don't actually need the Omex software. But I hoped the Omex software would provide something useful so I went onto their website and download the software for free from there. It is basically fairly simple and old fashioned photo editing software, probably not worth bothering with. Finally the lenses and different parts of the microscope are all well made, but they are delicate as you can imagine. So it would have been nice to have a set of caps for each lens. For example when you swap out one set of eye pieces a rubber cap would be very useful to protect them again dust and dirt. So a few gripes about the accessories provided in the package by the distributor, but no complaints about the microscope itself, I love it

Well... I called customer service, got voicemail. I called Tech Support, got voicemail. I'm having SO many problems with this microscope. First, nothing changes when I move the slide to the east or to the west, to the north or to the south (as one looks at a flat map)... it's as though there's a permanent picture stuck to the lenses. Even when I change slides, there's a permanent foot-looking thing in the same place in the field of vision. The software for the camera is really crazy. It shows the device name, but when I click on it, a screen appears that says "Access is denied" .... ARGHHH. I'm thinking this must have been a "used" item. I'm thinking it's gonna be returned. I'm thinking I'll buy a better one. I sent the thing back. A refund was authorized. It was sent LAST week via UPS with all the appropriate return labels etc., and it was received by the seller last week. No refund. No answer. No customer service. Next... I'll be seeking legal counsel over the $$ that should have been refunded to my credit card but hasn't been. I paid the seller promptly. Seems the seller would refund the $$ to me by now. Still no refund. 05/09/2021. In the meantime, I pay interest on my purchase.

This is a great high quality microscope, not that i can compare to others, as this is my first, but is solid and works well. The camera picture quality is fairly poor, but will do. Microscope doesn't come with any slides to use, so had to make a makeshift one. You need to order slides with this microscope. Also no manual on what all the elements are used for. There is a CD that comes with the microscope with software for the Camera, but what PC's/Laptops come with CD/DVD ROM these days??? However, you can find the software on the web. Search for "ToupView".

It is a great microscope for what I paid for it, overall I really like it minus on flaw. It came with good setup instructions, everything works fine on it except for the two eye pieces. I am having a really hard time getting both pieces to focus or see together, getting mostly double vision so i basically bought a microscope because I can only use one eye at a time for viewing. The camera works ok, I will probably upgrade it. Nonetheless, I need to send it in to get calibrated because what is happening now is not working if you want to see with both eyes. Really though I hope it can be fixed, bummed but never had fate in binocular microscopes to begin with.
