Best Shovel Ever
This is easily the best shovel I have ever bought. It was a bit pricey but worth every penny. It cuts through clay soil brilliantly & gets right down to dandelion roots so easily. The shovel head is not too big so I can lift the soil, I struggled with a normal size shovel as the weight of the soil was a problem. Really well designed

Tough tool worth the money.
Impressive root cutting tool. A touch heavy but I guess it needs to be to cut through tough roots. The saw sides of the tool are useful as another means of cutting. It handles levering up under roots that would break your average spade. A very good purchase.

It's brilliant. Able to dig where other shovels fail completely. Top notch product.

Good For My Type Of Metal Detecting
I use this spade primarily for metal detecting on pasture or fields where the ground is more compacted. It almost effortlessly cuts a clean plug which can then be easily pulled out. The 'O' handle allows for a firm grip by both hands if necessary. The size of the head has its advantages and disadvantages. One the one hand it's lighter to carry around than its larger version which was too heavy for me. Also, it's not so intimidating to look at when asking a farmer for permission to hunt on their land. On the other hand, for ploughed fields or soft soil/sand the head is too small and narrow which makes the ground difficult to scoop up. For the same reasons large holes are also difficult to do. If you're like me and hunting areas with a slightly more compact soil I would highly recommend this spade. Its serrated sides are sharp (which is good) so be careful!

It did a really good job, finally get the large drooping sedge out of my garden. Its lightweight and strong to dig out the root. Very happy

Easy to use
I had been thinking about buying one of these spades for a while. I’m very glad I did , it’s an excellent spade for digging up weeds and dividing clumps of perennial plants. I have severe arthritis and have had multiple joint replacements and find this spade extremely easy to use .

Best thing I ever bought
This spade is amazing. It slices through roots so easily! I dug up a shrub in no time. There is a lip to put your foot on, and the handle is very ergonomic. It's also very light. Highly recommend.

A cut above the others
The narrow point and serrated edges are ideal for cutting through roots when digging. I tend to use it in conjunction with a wider spade as this narrow spade cannot extract much soil at a time. The spade is strong and the circular handle shape works well.

I would say that this shovel is great to cut through small roots that would normally stop a regular garden shovel. It's lightweight, very sturdy, and the blade is thick enough to pry, although I wouldn't recommend too much prying because the handle is a lightweight plastic and I expect it'll snap if you put too much weight on it. I took a before and after picture of the stump that's been taunting me for the past few years. It's a beech tree stump so it's hard and it had a pretty pronounced taproot. This shovel alone wouldn't get it. I did have to use an axe and a pick mattock, but this shovel worked great to slide under and cut out the small roots to expose the taproot. It does slice through dirt like butter and if it hits small roots it doesn't hesitate to slice through them. I imagine if you just want to cut out shrubs or want an extra garden tool this would be great for you. I'm happy I purchased it and have no regrets. I have quite a few small hickory stumps I'll be attempting to get out by hand so hopefully this shovel will make that a little easier.

Absolut TOP!

honestly it is the best shovel, weed remover and dig tool I have ever used. i adore Fiskers garden tools and rely on them. however this shovel changed my deweeding game! I have been trying to remove buckthorn roots from my propwrty, with this tool I have made short work of those weeds.a powerful and durable tool, that has handled everything from twisting, stabbing and cutting up those persistent parasite of a weed. its my go to and I lock it up nice and tight every time i’m done with it. I couldn’t bear not having it. great design, easy to use and DURABLE!! good job
