This stuff is the best self tanner available hands down! Due to turning 39 and the effects of tanning becoming more noticeable on my face and chest at an ever increasing speed, every year I spend a few hundred dollars buying all the number one, two and three top brands on the review lists. It seems like I have tried this brand before but it wasn't a spray, maybe a lotion? I always just end up with a cabinet full of useless, smelly lotions, mousse and sprays and end up back in the tanning bed. That will not be the case this year. This product gave me a better looking, darker color than tanning everyday. I have my own tanning bed at home and I'm afraid I'll just be using it to flat dry my sweaters from now on. After reading some more reviews I find out I can even make it better with blending balm I ordered it right away. I didn't buy anything extra (ie...blending balm, shimmer something, body polish for exfoliating) just what comes with the kit. I put regular Gold Bond Ultimate lotion on my hands, feet, elbows and knees and I wasn't stingy with it. I just used regular soap in the shower with a loofa. For sure use the gloves under the mitt because it dries fast and you won't be able to wash it off in time. It was easy to put on thanks to the guide color. It does not smell bad like every other one I've tried. I put 3 or 4 sprays on the mitt at first and then of course thought if 3-4 looks that good then 4-5 will be great. Nope....I have one tiny area that is a little darker where I first pit the mitt down but it is totally my fault. Everything else looks 100 times better. It is a nice golden brown, even coverage and super easy and fast. I did not think about the spot on my back that I can't reach before hand so I had to improvize a little and even with the delay of trying to rig something up it came out even. Without a tan my skin is pretty fair, kinda blotchy red for the most part and now I look like I have tanned for at least a month and I only used this one time. I can't wait to get a second application on and see how it looks. I can't imagine it being any better than it is right now. If anything changes with the wear and tear of day to day living I will be back with an update. Sorry this is so long I just want everyone to be as happy and relieved to finally find something worth the time and money.

OK I literally have way too much to say about this stuff but SPOILER: you will buy this after you finish reading this. This stuff is incredible. Like I can't even begin to explain. So I was online looking for a self tanner..came across a few "meh" products then found this which I've never even heard of but the #of reviews and how every single one of them raved about it I was sold..in fact I bought the original and the darker version because I couldn't decide. Right off the bat I'm going to say that I would recommened the darker one just because I am pretty pale and the darker one is just less time consuming for me. They literally are the same exact product I see 0 difference in any aspect of the product between the two besides it actually being darker. With the darker one I apply 1 coat and I'm good the original took about 2-3ish coats. I will probably go to the original during the summer when I am naturally tan and want to be a little darker. You can always build on it either right after ur first application or the next day it still looks great! It has the most undetectable scent it's like a mix of coconut and vanilla but I have to put my arm to my nose to get a good smell in lol. The color is incredible I feel like it's tailored to my exact skin tone because I look the way I do after I've spent a week at the beach (without the sunburn) AND my teeth look SOOO white. After my first application I went downstairs without telling my mom that I tried out my new holy grail (we are beauty fanatics and bffs) I came outside and she sat up and said HOLY CRAP YOUR SKIN IS GLOWING IT LOOKS AMAZING AND YOUR TEETH...YOUR TEETH THEY LOOK AMAZING. Two minutes later it was on her and 5 minutes later she bought it lol. Seriously amazing. Oh and the mitt is also incredible. I've never had such an easy application and I don't have to worry about my hands looking rediculous. Like seriously why is there even any other tanning products out there? They should all be put to shame after seeing how this thing works... I honestly feel like it's a steal the price is unbeatable. TIP: Im not too sure what the gloves are for so they could be for this purpose but I will say it anyway. When I opened the box I literally threw the gloves to the side and didn't give it a second thought. AFter the first application I wasn't so quick to throw them out...the mitt moves around during application ..a lot. It's a little annoying bc you have to go quick or else it will dry and be hard to blend. So the gloves create a nice friction that keep the mitt on pretty much completely throughout the process and it solved my problem If I were to really try to find a con the only possible thing that I could say is that the bottle could use a little updating. I'm not sure what is happening but it does leak on me and the spritzer could definetly be upgraded bc although the application process is simple and easy it is messy and if I applied it anywhere but my shower I wouldn't have been able to write this review bc I would be dead due to the amount of stains this would put in my house. So DO IT IN THE SHOWER OR U WILL REGRET IT. But I do believe that is a bottle issue it just doesn't always work out that great and it gets everywhere But all in all that doesn't even phase me bc I seriously am head over heals for this product. This is great stuff!! IF You READ and FOLLOW the directions it will not streak and will last a good week. Before applying, make sure to shower and exfoliate at NIGHT, preferably right before bedtime. (If you do this in the morning or daytime it does not have time to set properly!!) If you shave your legs beforehand make sure to rinse, your whole body and especially your shaved legs, with COLD water at the end of your shower. This will close your pores and you won't get brown discoloration spots at your shaving sites. Apply it with the mitt right after your shower and it will apply much smoother as your skin is softer and more supple. Just like applying body lotion after you shower, it soaks in easier. It's quick drying so you don't have to wait but a few minutes before putting on your pjs. I do my legs last and find that my top half is dry by the time I finish with my legs. I throw on my top and wait a few minutes to put on my shorts or bottoms. That's it! It doesn't stain my sheets and there is only a little discoloration on the back neck of my top in the morning. Also, I do NOT shower the next morning but wait until that evening or even the following morning. This will really help set the application and make the color last. People's reviews that complain it sucks aren't following the directions. I cannot stress enough to READ and FOLLOW the directions! If you apply this in the morning or during the daytime it will come off and streak as you wash your hands or splash water on any treated areas of your skin! Also, don't use your body scrubby between applications, use shower gel or soap only. This may sound like it's a pain to use, it's really not. It really works, looks natural and lasts IF you READ and FOLLOW the directions! I will be using this all summer long! Highly recommended!!

I am a 30 something female with VERY fair skin. I don't tan. I burn and then turn white again. I've been using self tan lotions for years. Up until several months ago when I tried Fake Bake for the first time, I was a Jergens girl. Now that I've switched to Fake Bake Flawless I probably won't be going back to anything I've ever tried before. This stuff works great, is SO EASY to apply with a mitt and doesn't smell like you just applied self tanner! That was one of the worst things about the Jergens stuff. It smelled obvious for several hours after you put it on. This stuff has a very mild and pleasant scent, not at all telling of self tanner. Just 4-5 squirts on the mitt per body part gives me a nice mild color that looks natural and without any striping or streaking if done right and quickly. It also "sets" very quickly so you can get dressed and go about your business, which I really like. The only reason I have removed a star is because it does not last as long as the Jergens or other stuff, at least it hasn't in my several months of experience. In fact, it barely lasts a day. I generally apply it following a shower and don't get wet until 24 hours later. By a day to a day and a half tops, I'm back to my completely white self again. Now, the caveat to this is that I don't apply it daily and don't do lots of coats to build up a thick and dark tan. As I mentioned before, I'm a fair skinned individual and want it to look NATURAL. So just be advised, if you're like me and only want a light natural looking tan, it's not going to last long at all and I would worry about swimming for at least 8 hours after apply it. Besides that, this is a good product and I will continue to use. I did buy a nicer mitt (Thermalabs Ultamitt) to use though than the one that came with this bottle and I like it a lot.

I am very fair skinned naturally, and I am cautious about how much sun exposure I get because there is a history of melanoma in my family. However, I certainly think I look healthier and more vibrant with some color on my skin! I have tried several different spray tans, with moderate success. However, the process of getting sprayed, and having to dry afterwards, and having to be super cautious not to sweat or rub on anything is just exhausting (and expensive!), not to mention having to maintain it so you don't look like a dirty, stripy freakazoid. I have tried just about every tan-in-a-bottle as well, from the gradual tanning lotions in every brand, to the $45 St. Tro-you-know-what, and there was always at least one major flaw, whether it be difficult application, unnatural coloring, stinky scent, or expensive pricetag-- nothing was perfect. Until I tried THIS product. It really has everything I have been looking for: the color is by far the most natural and long-lasting and easy to build on; the scent is very nice, and the DHA does net ever smell super strong as your color develops--and the DHA smell is completely gone once you take your shower; the product is super easy to apply and very forgiving (I'm a clutz) and this kit comes with 2 latex gloves to protect your hands and an application mitt that completely and easily gets rid of all streaks; and 2 units of this size bottle lasts me the entire bikini season (which is LONG in Georgia- at least 5 months!); it also works extremely well on my face without causing any breakouts (Just use it more sparingly on your face. I have noticed that too much on my face looks a bit ruddy or dirty instead of golden. Just go easy at first til you figure out the ideal amount! I do one light spray on to the mitt, and apply it where the sun would darken my face. Like a bronzer!). I apply it to dry skin after a good exfoliation in the shower, give it about 2-3 minutes to completely dry (it really is that fast!), and sleep on a towel overnight. In the morning I shower, rubbing my skin with just my hand, and do any light touch ups I might need. That's it! Couldn't be easier! All in all, best self-tanner there is. I recommend it to everyone!

Just came back for a second bottle. I’ve been ‘sunless tanning’ for more than 20 years and have tried everything from drugstore to high end- gel, mousse, spray, towels, lotion etc. I’m not sure why I’ve never gotten around to trying Fake Bake but I’m really glad that I did. I have very far skin. My legs look like tortillas (no joke)- pasty white with brown spots and freckles. It would be hard to pick my favorite feature of this FB - goes on smooth, easy to blend and dries super fast. Like, within minutes. And I’m not talking about ‘dry but a little sticky or dampish’. It’s jist dry!! Skin feels soft. Remember tho, if you tan haphazardly, you’re going to get a haphazard tan. Take your time. It takes me less than 10 min to do my arms, legs, face, neck. The formula has a pinkish tint as it dries, which for me is a plus... my skin looks the way it would if I had spent all day out in the sun and got a touch too much sun. Perfect for me! I’ve never had an issue with it coming off on clothes, sheets etc. Sometimes it leaves a faint pinkish tint on washcloths but comes right out in the laundry. I apply in the evening (hour or 2 before bed) and when I wake up this next morning, I simply rinse off the color guide or use a wet washcloth or hand towel to wipe off the guide, especially if I’m wearing light clothing that day. I highly recommend doing this because if you get caught in the rain, the color guide will run off (not pretty) and you’ll be kicking yourself for not wiping off the color guide before you left that morning. (Trust me on this one 😩). I normally shower in the evening but if you shower in the am, then you should be fine to apply at night and shower off next morning. I haven’t had to do any kind of exfoliating or moisturizing before applying. That said, when I shower I use a very soft wash cloth (baby wash cloth) and moisturizing body wash- no harsh scrubbing. My tan turns out the same each time. I will say that I have to apply pretty much every evening (5 or 6 nights a week) but the results are worth it for me. Note: PLEASE follow the enclosed instructions and use the black gloves AND the mitt. Otherwise you’ll have a real mess on your hands. I’m not crazy about the mitt that it comes with; I prefer one with a thumb- it makes it so much easier to apply. I wish Fake Bake would take more of that. But you can buy mitts with a thumb here on Amazon. AS FOR THE SMELL- it has a very very faint coconut scent, which fades over the following hours. I have not noticed that weird smell that most tanners have hours after application. I am overall pleased, the price is reasonable, and the results are very good. One bottle lasts me almost 8 weeks (again, I just do arms, legs, face, neck). Very realistic color for someone with skin as fair as mine. 👍🏻

I am about as fair as they come. I am pale, almost sickly pale. Sometimes I get insecure about it, so I've tried a couple other tanning methods. I've tried the sun, but it seems like I either burn or nothing happens. I've done the mystic spray tan and hated it, it lasted a couple days and smelled rank, and I've done banana boat and jergens lotion. Both are streaky and I hated the results (or lack of) I gave up and tried this... It comes with a spray cap, lotion type cap, a mitt and a pair of gloves. The easiest way is to snip off about an inch off the bottom of the spray top and use that instead of the lotion cap to avoid mess. I spray onto my skin everywhere except my hands, feet, and face, I spray onto the mitt for those areas. My favorite part is you can see what areas you've tanned because it has color guard. I didn't use lotion on my problem areas and I didn't have any blotches at all. Make sure to exfoliate before hand. Edit: I've now been using this for a couple weeks and I can give a more detailed review. The tan itself on me lasts about a week. I find my face and chest seems to fade much faster then other parts so I end up re-touching every 2-4 days. Remember, I do not use gradual tanner in between, just this product. I like this because when you apply it and if you accidentally find a blotch, you can still rub it out if you recently applied the tan. FINAL EDIT: I've been on this stuff for over a month and I'm getting to the point where it's too much of a hassle to keep it up. I apply it at night before bed, get up and go to work and come home and shower. Almost 50% of it washes down the drain. I put a sticker on my hip to monitor the tan and I'm already losing a s*** ton of color the next day of washing. To keep my color I'd literally have to be applying every day or every other day. It just washes off. It's not like I'm scrubbing hard either, just a quick sponge off. You could see where I placed the sticker clear as day after I tanned but after showering you have to really look to see it. I am extremely disappointed because it looked like this was going to be a good product, but it does not last. I bought the fake bake lotion and I plan to double team myself with this product and that one in hopes I'll have a more stable tan but if not, I'll probably use up the bottle and never buy it again. I just don't understand how it can fade that much after one wash. They say the color running down the drain is only color guard, thats not true. It's half of your skin tone. :/

Please read this honest review - I absolutely have HATED self tanner and have ALWAYS risked my skin with tanning salons for over ten years. I ordered this after a friend was raving about a spray tan she got from ULTA (I forgot the name but doesn’t matter). After reading endless reviews on so many spray tans, I stopped here and ordered TWO. The directions are so clear and easy to follow. The application process was so easy, no streaks, no mess. I also have extremely sensitive skin to add. I applied at night after showering, shaving, exfoliating and waited about 15 mins after to put on shorts and a tank top for bed. My sheets are white. I woke up, tan as if I was on a tropical island for a week, and not a SINGLE stain on my sheets. The real kicker is that I didn’t shower that morning (directions suggest 4-6 hours before showering) and I went into work, where we have a broken HVAC and my office was 91 degrees (dead serious). I was quite sweaty, and this didn’t even drip off me. My hate towards self tanner stems from a time in HS (private school) and I used self tanner on my legs and it was down pouring and it bled ALL OVER my white knee high socks. Straight up orange. So I never touched it again. Once my friend said hers has a “mitt” (LOL I didn’t know this was needed years ago for application) and I saw this specific spray tan (this is not the one my friend had, she saw my tan and likes mine better!) I knew I had to try it. My skin wasn’t irritated AT ALL. With one use my skin was bronzed. I have fair sensitive skin. I couldn’t achieve this level tan if I lived on an island, seriously. The smell of tanner is obviously present but when you shower the water is a bit pinky brown and the smell goes away. It’s not a bad scent though at all. My skin is clear and soft and I didn’t use lotion after, which I always need to as I have a few autoimmune issues one which affects my skin and causes dryness. This didn’t get on my white sheets and I went to bed probably 45 min max after I applied. Application was so easy and I’m very impatient and this was SO easy. I even somehow magically reached my back with the mitt. The tan remained. The pics are awkward TBH (I have a kitten so ignore my clawed leg haha) but this is after 1 app. I didn’t use it on my face, which has some natural sun color but close to my usual tone. When I wear makeup it will match. I plan to do a few more apps before the weekend to achieve my dark desired color! I wasn’t asked or given any single thing to make this review. This is fully genuine and is coming from a person who hates things like this, has extremely sensitive skin and autoimmune issues that affect my skin, I have very fair skin, and I sleep in a white bed lol. So 5 stars all around. THANK YOU for making this wonderful product, I will be choosing this over tanning salons as tanning beds are terrible for my skin. This was also a lot faster and a lot easier and no orange!
