No more sun, cooler room
100% blackout film. My bedroom has a huge sliding glass door that is sun facing all day, and has no ceiling fan. With the AC running the room was sitting at 75°-78°F at night. I purchased 2 rolls of this film to cover the sliding door. My room now keeps closer to 68°-72°F. And no direct sun at 5:45am. Easy to install and cut. The film is a thick vinyl like material.

Easily installed. Blocks all light. Very affordable.
I have a half-round window that is 60 inches wide by 30 inches high. I bought two rolls of Velimax static cling black film. I was able to apply the first piece and trim it easily with a utility blade. The second roll was lined up with first and the edge was precise. The surface is tactile like a truck bed liner except it is very thin pliable. Now I have an excellent black-out window that can be easily pulled off if I want more light. The low price made me suspicious but the product is clearly high quality.

FOUND SOLUTION! for cars, autos, vans, campers black out for mobile office etc
UPDATE : So static clang is never going to be good enough for these applications but it helps. It certainly helps to align. It certainly helps to install. It's just that they won't stay in place! So there's a very very simple solution and I mean that literally! Just take a little sugar water honey diluted in water or molasses of any kind. Also diluted in water by about half or more and you can either spray the window using a sprayer or you can apply it with a brush just in areas where it's actually peeling! This works because it's naturally super sticky as you know from handling these jars for years- and it's also easy to remove with just plain water or a wet towel when the time comes. So if you've got a peeling corner just dab it on. You can use a paper towel, dab it on it or dab it on the back of the shade. So other than being a little too narrow and a little too overpriced for The wider roll, this is actually pretty good stuff for direct application to the inside of Windows in cars, Vans, and any other kind of camper! About. The only other thing I can say is that it needs to be longer and I think I did get shorted four feet by the time I got to the end of the roll. You may want to start by The roll before you start cutting ! I may have to return this even though it's cut into little pieces. It was I believe 4 ft short and I don't think it's going to last the month. As far as reusability goes for the purpose indicated. I'm going to give it another shot here. I'll try spraying the inside of the Windows in question with some soapy water to add some stick and if that does the trick then I'll be happy.

Good product. Measure before buying
These are 100% black out meaning no one can see in, nor can you see out. Measure your windows to buy the correct size. Use glass cleaner and good towel to clean windows. Get all air out as you apply. Gradually put on. Won’t work if you try to just slap it on. I’m happy because I use this for only upper area of apartment windows to keep street light and sun out. Cheaper than curtains, looks okay. Does its job

Works great; I used black electric tape to secure it
Life-changing! I’m a vampire who works from home all night and sleeps during the day. I mostly dwell in the basement which serves as my study, tv room and bedroom. There are three small windows in the basement and I used this on all of them. The directions say to cut one inch larger than you need so you can wedge the film into the edges of the frame with a plastic card to secure the film better...but my windows have airtight frames so this ended up being more of a hassle when it came time to cut the excess film. Your windows may be different. I had a hard time getting a perfectly straight cut with a utility knife once the film was misted and placed. The knife also slipped a few times and scratched my window frames. User error. Maybe I should have used a straightedge of some kind. For me it was easier to just cut the film to the exact dimensions I needed and then place it. Also, a tip that may help you: I decided to tape the edges with black electric tape since I’m putting blinds over the windows anyway. It bonds securely to the film + frame and eliminates any leaking light along the edges due to imperfect cuts but also should help keep the film in place. Time will tell. It’s now pitch black in my basement and my body has no idea what time of day it is...which is great because the sun is my kryptonite and it renders me useless. In theory it should also be cooler in the summer now since the film is deflecting the sunlight. also no more glare on my TV. I should have done this ages ago. TLDR; great value for money. Give it a try. *Update: So the electric tape didn't hold as well as I had hoped. I reinforced it with black Gorilla Tape. I'll probably be cursing myself when/if it comes time to remove it...but it should do the trick for now.

Black doesn't work with double insulation
Bought the black film and was a quick and easy install. Only to find out that risks breaking double insulated windows. Should've checked my windows before buying black. I'll have to buy white film now.

Velimax static cling black out film
This is exactly what I wanted. I had to cut it to fit my windows. It didn’t fit the length just the width. But it definitely blacks out light during the day and night and I can get dressed with my blinds open and not worry about being seen. Privacy… exactly what I wanted for daytime and night time. If you want total and to get a better nights sleep this privacy film will do the trick. Plus it’s reusable. Why wait don’t miss out on a better nights sleep get it now.

Okay, instructions were vague and back film hard to remove.
Pros: does it’s job! It also has this grid on the back of the film which does help a lot with cutting! Nice and thick material. Cons: 1. the backing of the static film was very difficult to peel, despite trying their suggestion of using two types scotch tape to help 2. I would not recommend the instructions saying to leave 1/2” and use a knife to cut off the excess film, I tried that and it was difficult and impossible to cut nicely and have a clean edge that completely covered the window. 3. Instructions said to use soapy water and a lot of it, wasn’t clear on ratio for soap to water. I went with some soap with very little additive and also used distilled water. I felt like it was a bit excessive. When I was using a card to smooth out the pieces soapy water would drip out from the edge… so beware this may happen, so it forced me to do the top panels first because I didn’t want the soapy water to drip down. Overall: good for its price and does its job, but could be more detailed in the instructions! And if there was an easier way to remove the backing it would be great (tried the scotch tape method but it didn’t work.

Waste of money!!
Waste of money! The product came with holes on it and it is not at all black out!!! The light still comes through and it also doesn’t stick well on the window! Literally waste of money!

Fab blackout
I put this up in my room and my toddlers room. Mine has been up almost 2 years, and other than peeling back a bit at the corners, it's stayed up very well. In my toddlers room I took it down at winter and put it back up once the days got longer again and there were no issues with it staying up, it was like new, really pleased.
