Economical Postal Scales (SC36), Black, Small

It's inexpensive, accurate and easy to use, what more could you want. Just for the sake of accuracy, I prepared a couple of packages, weighed them and then asked the post office to weigh them again. Weights were spot on. I quickly saved enough in postage costs to pay for the scale. I was tending to send everything flat rate Priority but quickly learned that on relatively lightweight items (<5lbs) it's actually cheaper, sometimes significantly so, to not use flat rate but calculated postage. This is especially true if the item isn't going that far. One 3lb package going from Tucson to Las Vegas would have been fifteen dollars via flat rate, turned out to be less than six dollars when using calculated postage and still going Priority mail.

I ordered this scale because it said it included the rates for mailing letters and packages. The scale seems fine for the price, but the chart with rates says stamps cost 44 cents! I looked it up, and that was the rate in 2009!!! I guess I will be able to find current rates online, but 2009? Really? That's just sad. Also, neither the box nor the manual has a manufacture date on it, nor the name of the manufacturer or any contact information.

Arrived without the little plastic plate that has the type of weights written on it. Had to use some tape and used the picture on the box to replicate it. Does not affect the function but was a QA/QC fail to not catch that. Otherwise I have found it to be very accurate. I use it to measure disc golf discs which use grams and found it spot on. Also mail items anywhere up to 15 pounds and it has been accurate. For the price it is a great little scale for postal needs and other random things. If you want very accurate readings at light weights such as for food prep then you probably should look elsewhere.

I have used this scale over and over again for shipping my auction sale items. Accurate, reliable weight reading; it's been spot-on with calculating shipping costs. I also like that you can switch between grams, pounds, etc. Extremely helpful.

Does not come with an ac adapter or how or where to get one!

I purchased a more expensive scale initially and it was a total dud. Amazon stepped in and fixed that with a refund. I was hesitant to pick another - especially a cheaper one - but after reading the reviews and asking and GETTING answers about this scale, I bought it.A REALLY GOOD BUY! It is self-calibrating! DO NOT BUY ANY SCALE THAT IS NOT SELF-CALIBRATING. You will then have to buy a weight - up to 20 lb. one!! - too expensive to even consider doing. Ridiculous to even make them that way because the weight to calibrate costs more than the scale. Pointless.THIS SCALE IS SELF-CALIBRATING. Repeat - DO NOT BUY A SCALE that is not self-calibrating. This one is a cinch to use and I am so thankful to have it.

Worked great for a few months and then everything started coming up as 0.0, even with new batteries. But got a lot of use out of it for the price.

This product was less expensive, and I almost passed it over because I was worried it wouldn't work. It is a great scale. Very easy to use. Easy to change units to read as I needed them to. I am very happy with this purchase.
