Raggedy Ann Stories: Illustrated Paperback – Illustrated, November 10, 2016

I was delighted when I saw this, but now having read it, I am somewhat disappointed. I was even a little disappointed when I saw what stories were in the book; I was hoping the book would be full of ALL the Raggedy Ann and Andy stories that I read and loved as a very little girl (such as Raggedy Ann and Andy - The rainy day circus, Raggedy Ann and Andy - The little grey kitten and Raggedy Ann and Andy - Five birthday parties in a row), but I feel that none of the stories in this book are really as good as the stories I mentioned. I WISH they'd bring all the aforementioned stories out on Kindle or iBooks

This illustrated edition of Raggedy Ann Stories is wonderful to read on my tablet and phone. My original kindle does not give the pictures the color and quality that they deserve (My galaxy 10.1 and Droid Incredible do!) I love the story. Not that the plot is scintillating. It's a silly book of stories about a rag doll and her friends.Hopefully most of you are familiar with Raggedy Ann so I don't have to explain it. My daughter is 5. She has recently begun to enjoy my reading these "chapter" books to her as a special treat. It's great because when we're in the car or camping I can read, it's backlit, there's a wonderful illustration every few pages. Nice. These are short self-contained stories.So, for those of you in the modern world who do not want their children exposed to violence or unpleasantness. Skip any of the original Gruelle Raggedy Ann & Andy books. I think that the sheer wackiness outweighs the rest but be warned that there is "thumping" and other violent acts. My daughter doesn't even notice.Generally I prefer the hard cover editions of these books, it seems a bit wrong to be reading such a classic in digital, but this one is nicely done and I'm glad I have it to take with us.

This hardcover edition is beautiful! Original text and illustrations!Nice font, nice paper and vibrant illustrations. The stories are sweet and unabridged. This is perfect for my just 6 years old daughter. She loves the purity and innocence of the stories as well as the colorful pictures.

Classic book with original illustrations. Really beautiful!We had a storybook baby shower and themed our menu and games to different storybooks!We had a cloth diapering game (who could cloth diaper with the fastest speed) with Raggedy Ann and Andy. We displayed this beautiful book by the game.

Bought this for a gift for a baby shower. All the quests were asked to bring a book instead of a card. I chose this book because my mother read these stories to us when we were young and we loved them it is a beautiful book with a linen type finish on the cover and has lovely illustrations. Really like a collector piece. It was a big hit.

The kind of book the children will want to have read to them over and over. Priceless and timeless at the same time.

My daughter loves these stories and the colorful original pictures (every couple of pages). The stories are complete and unabridged without alterations to the text. Very nice hardcover.

This was a gift along with the doll set for a 7 year old. She loved it and we read a story before bed time. The stories keep her interest right to the end! Just enough illustrations to inspire her imagination fill in the rest. I enjoy the seeing her put together the "old times" play of girls and dolls. I love the book too!Gramma
