It was such a joy to read this book of Nessa and Mikolaj.To see Nessa flourish during this life altering experience was very enjoyable. Reading her becoming a women and experience so much and yet not loose her fundamental characteristics of being a caring, thoughtful, loving person.Mikolaj was a great lead and this is where I love multiple POV so we get to read what this character is thinking and feeling as the story progresses.It was great to have all the other characters showing up in this story. Especially her sister Riona .Sophie has yet again created a great follow up book in this exciting series. Bring on book 3!

First let me say I read this book via kindle unlimited so it wasn’t one I had to buy beforehand; I loved it so much though that I bought it after so I could reread it any time I wanted. Rarely do I buy a KU book so that should tell you how much I adored this story.I love the Beauty and the Beast themes as this is my favorite fairy tale. Nessa was so sheltered and innocent and watching her coming into her own power and taking control of her life and what she wanted was beautiful. And then there was Miko; I cried for him in the beginning and how much he lost. He was truly dead inside before he met Nessa and it was heartwarming to see how he slowly came back to life for her. His priorities slowly shift through the story and their love was an undeniable force. The pacing was very believable and the ending was just right. If you’re undecided, take a chance on this one and I promise you won’t be sorry!!

The writing is so addicting.I really loved Nessa, I also love reading about someone who’s a ballerina. I loved how smart she was and got to see her get strong. She so brave. The love interest!!! By far best one I’ve read from her. I loved this book more than any I have ever read by her. This book alone made me want to buy the rest of the series, and I will.“What are you doing, little ballerina?”Little ballerina.So cute.Miko and Nessa were so cute together. If I was kidnapped I would want it to be my Miko🥵 I'd gladly go.Nessas family killed the Butcher, his father so he took something from them..Dragged into the Mafia life at a young age after his sister dying, he hasnt looked back. Quiet of his life before Mafia, he's got hurt but he doesn't show it.He is dangerous.HOT & dangerousNessa the youngest of her siblings,innocent, sweet ballerina,not really involved in the family Mafia life.Dancing is her life. She just dissapears.Taken. Trapped in a castle and can't escape. But slowly being trapped doesn't seem so bad. She dances right into his heart.Mafia romance meets Beauty and the Beast. A beautiful story of Nessa and Miko. Dangerous, sexy, opposites attract.I was hooked from the beginning.I like that the other family characters have their own story lines throughout the story as well. I can't wait for everyone else's stories.

Sophie is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors because it feels like she puts crack in her books.This book wasn’t as dark as I was expecting but it was so easy to read! So we’ll researched and just amazing!!Miko’s story, that first chapter… damn 🥺 you really got to understand him and feel his emotions from just that one chapter!! Nessa also had amazing growth, she started as this sheltered little girl and ended up being the perfect right hand to Miko.This was a true Beauty and the Beast retelling- the best I’ve read yet and of course the spice was 10/10 because this is Sophie 🥵

Beautifully written story of loss, revenge and despite all the odds love. Innocent, young dreamer ballerina is taken by a ruthless polish Mafia boss so he can punish her family. Only he's surprised that his captive focuses on her creativity and losing herself in dance that he is the one captive.I came at this one without reading the blurb and really liked the style of writing. The characters are good and the storyline is simple and easy to follow. Well worth a look at this page turner which has enough drama and romance to keep the reader entertained and engaged.A little gem in a minefield. Enjoy.

miko has been through a lot, so much that it’s forced him to toughen up and be this emotionless and hard man after losing the person he loves most in this world, in order to avenge her. mafia romance meets beauty and the beast retelling / a bit of greek mythology thrown in there too (persephone & hades). miko kidnaps sweet and innocent nessa, youngest in the griffin family — she’s still pure and quite sheltered from her irish mafia family. this starts out as another plot for miko’s revenge and to gain completely power for the polish mafia, but miko can’t quite seem to resist her. good girl & bad boy vibes. it’s an enemies/rivals to lovers trope, spice-wise this was a little milder (i mean it’s still quite spicy!) than sophie’s other books and more of a slow burn romance! i LOVE a jealous and protective miko😮‍💨🔥 i love how cold he is towards everyone but her!! i love the danger and suspense of a mafia romance, like the “i just broke his arm” or “i only shot him in the leg” or “it’s okay i only cut off one of his fingers”, so casually said like it’s an every occurrence🤯🤣 i love the world a mafia romance creates😍 idk why i just had a strange feeling i would fall for miko and i so did🥲 he’s a man of little words at the start but omg by the end he said all swoony worthy things🥹 miko and nessa are so perfect for each other, they make each other better — she grows so much as a person throughout and she makes him want to be a better person, more human🥺😭 i just loved the ending, but i’m sad there wasn’t an epilogue, i just want more miko & nessa🥹💗

Nessa will be forced to find a strength that she had no idea she had and when her family sees the change in her they are surprised at the woman she is turning into. She will find so much more than strength though. She will find a different kind of love and a determination that has been there all the time, just buried. I give this story a 4-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy stories of mafia families, danger around every corner, betrayal, and sexy men that find their hearts when they least expect it. Sophie Lark’s mafia men are ruthless, dark, and determined to stay on top, get more money and power and they aren’t afraid to step into the line of fire to protect the ones they love.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had so much in it that I love. I thought the mafia plot had a great mix of angst, threat and suspense, and the romance elements were full of genuine chemistry and longing. While the overarching plot of this book (a kidnapping) is dark and may not be for everyone, on the whole this was not a really dark read.I loved the burgeoning relationship between Miko and Nessa. I really enjoyed the gritty, tough moments, but also the tender and hopeful moments too.This is the second book in the Brutal Birthright series, and is an excellent and engaging addition to this entertaining series.
